Premier ram Posted June 15, 2022 Share Posted June 15, 2022 Southgate cant win , its been a physically and mentally draining season for a lot of these players and asking them to perform for this meaningless tournament is ridiculous , Englands players only had a short break last summer , think it showed last night . People saying they would be bottom half without his goals just don’t get the point at all. Replace him with a ‘lesser goal scorer’ like Roberto Firmino but they would improve dramatically as they’d be able to press from the front, have somebody who can link play, be a positive influence in terms of not throwing a strop every 5 minutes and causing a power struggle with the manager. It looks a crap league without Derby and Forest in it. Half the clubs are starting with new managers, yet they will probably end up in the same position. Their squad isn't stand out and they haven't added any new players. I know they've bounced back before but I think they've run out of steam and it's gone a bit stale.
