Because when they’re pontificating they’re not telling you what’s actually happening. I gave up when Rammage said ‘we’ve got too many number 10’s’ for the 500th time while professing Jack Marriott to be the answer to every goal scoring problem if he just had more game time. Graham Richards was called out constantly in the early days of forum life, then Bloomfield in particular got a very hard time. It is different if you are a public figure right or wrong. People get sacked for less today. Rodney Marsh did for something that was pretty similar. He was having none of it when Dawes was having a go at Roos for punching instead of catching. They begrudgingly admitted he knows more about goal keeping than they do!
