Isn’t this just absolutely primer Derby County though, a chance to go fifth tonight with a win, Stoke, forest and Leeds losing.

Its got a Sheff Utd win all over it

Keep the faith! One up after 20 seconds

Keep hearing ramage saying the standard of the league isn’t as good, anyone can win it. Agree with the second part of this, but disagree the standard is getting worst. I’d argue it’s improving, more good teams due to prem teams coming down with parachute payments not getting promoted straight away, smaller teams finding away to compete. You look at the past few home games, Blackburn Brentford Norwich and Sheff United were all excellent games of football.

Its more competitive than ever definitely and anyone in the top 14-16 could get in the top 6, but I’d argue it’s because the standard of the league is improving not declining.

Good results so far... we can lose tommorrow and still be in top 6

Nah keep them closer.

Just need Villa to equalise and it will be as good as we could have hoped for.

Think stoke will e up there, when they eventually get rid of rowett

Sheffield I feel will drop after a few injuries, not enough fire power

Strange championship stats after 13/14 games.....

  • birmingham and forest have the fewest number of defeats
  • qpr and wigan have won as many as Derby
  • sheff united have the most wins
  • Boro have got by far the best defence
  • Sheff wed have the second worse defence in the league
  • preston and reading have scored more goals than derby
  • bolton wanderers have conceded fewer goals than west brom
  • Reading and stoke are the third highest goalscorers away from home
  • Millwall have conceded more goals at home than anyone - so much for the den being a tough place to go
  • Brentford in 15th place are the second highest goalscorers at home but haven't won away
  • birmingham and wigan are the only two sides who are still undefeated at home
  • Swansea have conceded the fewest number of goals away from home
  • wigan in 10th have lost 6 out of 7 away from home - second worst record in the league
  • derby are the team who is most likely to concede in the first 15 minutes
  • West brom have never scored in the first 15 minutes - worst record in the league with rotherham
  • West brom are the most likely to score in the last 15 minutes - best record in the league
  • derby have never conceded in the last 15 minutes - best in the league

Don't jinx us with the last stat we have been lucky at times in the last part of games so I can see that changing soon if we are not careful, especially with West Brom's record in the last 15 minutes.

Oops. Fortunately it didn't matter

13 teams within 6 points of each other.  Tighter than a camel's sphincter in a sand storm!!

And for comparison, last year's table at the same stage...

The big difference is that the top 3 have not pulled away this year. Positions 4-13 all have around the same points as last time around.
