Nuwtfly
Rowett has recently stated in the DET that "I think you are looking at probably 22 first-team senior players." when referring to squad size. A number which makes sense, working out as two first team XIs. With all the talk of ins and outs, who do you predict will be filling that 22 come the end of the summer? Here's my guess GK - Carson, Mitchell RB - Baird, New Signing CB - Keogh, Shackell, New Signing, New Signing LB - Forsyth, Lowe RM - Ince, New Signing CM - Hughes, Thorne, Johnson, New Signing LM - Russell, Anya ST - Martin, Vydra, Nugent, New Signing

cheron85
That all assumes a 4-4-2 formation - However some players can be a bit more flexible so GK - Carson, Mitchell RB - Baird, Christie CB - Keogh, Pearce, The Shack, NEW LB - Fozzy, Olsson DM - Thorne, NEW CM - Hughes, Bryson, Hanson, Johnson AM R/L/C - Ince, Russell, Anya, Vydra ST - Nugent, Martin Which should give us the flex to play 4-4-2, 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 Thing is IF you assume we only have 4 CMs in the squad we have very little backup if we play a 3 man midfield
Gritty
I think we're going to find it very hard to ship players out. They are paid well. I think that we may get rid of 3 players and buy 2 in window. Then maybe loan a couple more out. And be left with a lot of existing squad. I simply don't think GR will shift as many as he hopes. Hope I am wrong. Mountain Ram
GK - Carson, Mitchell RB - Baird, New CB - Keogh, Shackell / Pearce (I'm hoping we get a new marquee CB, so I'm not fussed who we keep between these 2 to sit on the bench), Rawson, New LB - Forsyth, Lowe (bit of a concern given injury records) RM - Ince, New CM - Hughes, Thorne, Johnson, Butterfield, New LM - Russell, New ST - Martin, Vydra, Nugent Vernon, Guy, McAllister + Bennett as the u23 additions Out: Christie, Shackell or Pearce, Olson, Bryson, Hanson, Anya, Bent, Camara. G STAR RAM
Not one person said Butterfield yet. This will probably not be a popular opinion...but if we are looking to balance the books slightly I would offload Hughes and keep Butterfield. I think played correctly there is a lot more to come from Butterfield. Hughes was pretty average last season and, as much as I like him, not sure he is a GR type player. I love Hughes but yeah actually Butterfield is plenty good enough to get us out of the league and Hughes is worth a bomb. I'd swap Hughes for an Ince for the other side. cannable
This is what I'd do, I reckon Rowett will be quite different. GK - Carson, Mitchell RB - Christie, Baird CB - Keogh, New, New LB - Fozzy, Lowe CM - Hughes, Butters HM - Thorne, New RW - Ince, Johnny SS - Vydra, Weimann LW - New, New CF - Martin, Nugent Johnson/Bryson as cover and allows a changed of shape, Masey B and Hanson
