Years ago thought John Harkes and Paul Kitson where going 2 b top players but never really delivered and glad 2 b proved wrong by Forsyth didn't think he was going 2 b good enough but we have missed him big time he rarely gets beat by a winger unlike Olsson who just stands off them and is shocking defensively

Miles Addison. I thought he would develope a strong player for us for years to come.

I remember swearing blind that he'd play for England. IIRC he played against Newcastle while struggling with an injury and dominated the game from start to finish, looking (and playing) like a tank. Similar story to Nyatanga and Barnes -  i'm all for giving youth a chance but we don't have the greatest track record with successfully developing them (cough Lee Holmes).

I remember that Newcastle game. I think he'd only trained for the first time during the week and yet you see him carrying the ball the length of the pitch! Blowing out of his arse at the end mind.

I still put Barnes and Addison down to bad luck.

For Barnes; a broken foot, an ACL that needed the best knee specialist in the world to fix, an Achilles strain followed by it fully snapping six months later… all of those in the space of two-years and three months.

And for Addison, foot injuries wiped out the latter third of 08/09,  most of 09/10 and half of 10/11. Sadly he was never the same.

Still to proven right or wrong but Mason Bennett. I really hope he does became a success at Derby but there something that makes me think he will never make it, not sure what it is. I said this in the stands once and about 5 mins later skinned two players down the left wing and crossed the ball in for Russell (I think) on a plate for a simple tap in.

I don't think we'll ever know about Mason Bennett. His only chance imo, is to be given a start for 5 or 6 games on the bounce to see what he can do.

I doubt very much it will happen though. Modern football tends not to lend itself to risk taking by managers.
