McClaren was in the stands.

Shame we couldn't have subbed him into the dressing room at half time.

The excitement of that season and the first half of the following season seems like a million years ago now.

He was assistant to Harry redknap at Qpr... Could we sign him up?

Vydra is an incredible player he's proved that over more than one season at this level and under the right tactics 10 million would be money well spent but rn even Lionel messi up front would struggle with the hopeless tactics and lack of urgency

Incredible player??????????

Who's going to bid 7m again for Martin lol

Seriously though maybe he needs a change, a lot of our 14 team have had so many gutting failures that it might be time for them to go as well, as a club we have become pretty depressed over the past year lol, so many failures will eventually lead to this I suppose

A mid table finish, clearing out unwanted players and rebuilding the whole club is the way forward, provide something fresh, because we simply can't carry on like we were planning too tbh.

After to night he s probably dropped in value by a few mill, dont disagree with you though NP needs to get his own players in ,breed a new culture and establish self believe and  a winning culture within the dressing room.Too many heads dropp like ostriches after 20 mins in the game.

Agreed

We have a bunch of players that have had failure drilled into them over a long period, its no good trying to change it now because its set in and the rot is too much now.. If got back to the previous style, the negative atmosphere at this club right now would know something bad is around the corner, an injury to a key player within a failed system (Thorne or Martin), and we lose 1 or 2 on the bounce, start to ship goals and ultimately crash and burn, just really negative and toxic...

we've even affected Shackell and Johnson with it ffs, they look complete shadows of the player's that went up with Burnley and Norwich, Shacks disaster at Burnley being the start, he's simply not looked the same player here with us, esp the first time with us that's for sure.

We need to be honest with ourselves in that there's too many bad memories. NP as you say will have to change it, he's the right man for that job, he needs to get rid of the negative attitude around the club and build a fresh style.. A season in the bottom half/mid table and just a stress free season away from the drop zone and promotion will do this club the world of good, we might get back to just enjoying the atmosphere at games, enjoying our football again.

Agree ,present squad and performances are below fans expectations and rightly so.But if NP was to rebuild and we could see things changing in the right direction ,pressure would be taken away from all concerned

It's going to take more than buying Vydra (or another forward) to get some points on the board, or even just a few goals. The mentality is the same as under Clement for most of last season, our players appear to not be adaptable to different styles of play.

The performance against Burton was lethargic, and lacking in any movement or urgency, apart from a couple of minutes in the second half, where we actually created a couple of blocked shots. This is no different to a lot of games last season (remember Forest at the city ground where we had maybe 4 shots from range, created nothing else and lost 1-0 to an early goal...sound familiar?)

NP craves hard work and energy on the pitch, something Burton and Barnsley have shown this season and both have scored and beat us.

I like the idea of Vydra, in fact any good striker coming in and giving us another threat up front. But at the minute we don't look like threatening at all.

I agree. Vydra would do a job for us but so would Martin, Bent and Willson if given the service.

We look physically and mentally weak in defensive and midfield positions. Burton were able to impose themselves without a lot of talent, just through will to win.

We need a enforcer to complement the footballers and better defensive full-backs.

Here's hoping he is in Derby waiting to sign for us.

But we defo need a midfield general to organise this detached midfield.

I think the midfield issue is down to confidence and application the catalyst of which is the BOO Boys and general treatment of BJ in recent months.

Like Mel will give him time to do that, if we keep on playing like that we all know that he will be gone by xmas. No stability as Mel chops n changes to much, are we any further forward than when clough left? IMHO no and we've spent a hell of a lot of money in the meantime, on show ponys and overrated flash in the pans. Burton have proved you don't have to spends loadsa cash to get success

I get what you're saying but shouldn't a seasoned pro like BJ have a 'i'll show you' mentality? It's not like Spain where they stop the players driving away from the ground, they're paid to perform under pressure.

If I was Jim White i'd tell that Rob Dorsett to stand outside Moor farm on deadline day
