MackworthRamIsGod
If we are spending near 10 million on strikers in England, what the bloody hell has Mo Camara achieved as head European scout, or whatever his title is? I would love to know what goes on inside the war room/transfer discussion room. Camara: Mel/Sam, I've seen this player in Russia, top striker, scores bags full of goals, named Juri Whodyanickabollocov, he would be perfect. Mel/Sam: How much? Camara: we could get him for 2 mil if we are quick Mel/Sam: Does he like Yorkshire Puddings? Camara: No he likes sprouts though Mel/Sam: not good enough, get up to Uddersfield and don't come back till you find a player who likes Yorkshire Puddings, money is no object. I reckon it goes somet like that.

Jimbo Ram
27 minutes ago, Kernow said: I think he'd be a good signing but not at £10mil. Far too much. If Bristol City can find Kodjia for £2mil (now rated £10m+) then there has to be better options out there. I like Vydra as a player but £10mil is far too much and the chances are, at some point, he will become a scapegoat because of the price tag. Like Wilson, the jury is still out on Vydra for me. He hasn't done much lateley. Interesting to compare Vydra and Wells stats. Wells has scored 77 goals in 195 appearances for Bradford and Huddersfield Town. Vydra has scored 39 goals in 114 appearances for Watford and Reading. I think Wells is the more consistent, an intelligent footballer who has pace and could do the business for us. Rather spend 10 mill on him....
needles
If £10m is the rate for a competent Champ striker, then lets have none of the above and take a punt on a foreigner.

How many of Wells goals were scored below championship level though? I'd guess at least half.
Sparkle
It is a lot of money if true but Newcastle and villa have shown the price you have to pay if you want the player.

Cheers for the stats, for the record id be more than happy if we signed either Wells or Vydra. Personally don't think one is significantly better than the other. I would guess it's most likely coming down to who is available

It's always a gamble but I would place my money on him......Vydra has been off the pace for sometime....
