Wouldn't be all that surprised, we can't hold him back much longer. He defo needs to be plying his trade at the highest level possible.

As a Ram it pains me to admit, it won't be achievable whilst with us.

I wouldn't hold it against him if he handed in a transfer request after Tuesdays match, if we do eventually get knocked out.

Id like him to go

he is 21 he could have gone years ago but didnt, he's better than this level and better than us, were holding him back. He seems a nice lad and deserves his shot at the highest level

he needs to go whilst he can and stop wasting his talent with us, nows the age to move on and establish himself and push on and develop into an england player because he wont do that here. I wouldnr begrudge him a move. He needs to think of himsef and his career now.

id love to get another season out of him though, then have him for a few years in the prem but the last three years ive expected him to move on to better things

Nugent..... in a Derby shirt. Jesus wept. I know today was bad, but let's not lose our heads.

I'm mystified as to how some players seem to be impervious to criticism. There's the usual flood of calls to sell Hendrick, yet everyone wants to keep Butterfield based on 3 or 4 screamers even though he contributes little else. Russell getting hammered yet again, whilst our 5 million pound man who can't control a football and relies entirely on his pace to get him out of trouble is free to continue putting every ******* corner we ever manage to win right on the forehead of the front post defender.

Nugent- Mccormack front 2 with Zanzala and Weimann the back up front 2? Easily affordable if we get rid of Blackman, Bent, Martin, Hendrick , Shotton, Albentosa, Warnock, Baird and co.

True but the problems run deeper than just 2 strikers. We need to afford the rest of the team too.

Thought about something like this:

Goalkeepers: Scott Carson, Daniel Bentley(you may not have heard of him but he is a talented young keeper)

Right backs: Christie, Hanson(to fill in)

Centre backs: Keogh, Shackell, Rawson, Buxton

Left backs: Forsyth, Olsson

CDMS: Thorne, Rohan Ince/Chalobah/Kevin McDonald(any one of these 3 to be a backup for Thorne as all are big and strong which we need when Thorne isn't playing), Hanson

CMS: Hughes, Bryson, Johnson, Butterfield

Attackers: Tom Ince, Robson-Kanu(free agent), Callum o'dowda

Strikers: Ross Mccormack, Nugent, Weimann, Zanzala

                   Carson

  Christie   Keogh    Shackell   Forsyth

                       Thorne

            Bryson              Hughes

                         Ince

                Mccormack   Nugent

So in all buy: Bentley, Ince/Chalobah or McDonald, Robson-Kanu, O'dowda, Mccormack and Nugent. That's 6 players right there, not too many but players who fit certain positions that we have needed for years

Sell: Grant, Mitchell(loan), Baird, Albentosa, Shotton, Pearce, Warnock, Hendrick, Camara, Russell, Blackman, Martin, Bent.

If you take into consideration how many players you're selling above then in reality you're only spending 5-7 million which is nothing

Nugent has experienced promotion more times than most of our team put together have. Nugent is the time of player who we have missed, the type of players who won't go hiding when the going gets tough. People said what you're saying now about Barton earlier this season and now look at Burnley.

I doubt for the first time that this style of football is likely to get us promoted. More steel and some cynicism and strong arm tactics are required.

Exacty, we need winners in this team. David Nugent, who Boro are looking to sell is the type of player who fits this bill and would only cost a couple of million. A bargain for a player who has experienced promotion many a time

On paper we have an excellent squad, unfortunately for us footballs played on grass not paper

we need a midfield enforcer, someone that will grab the game by the balls, put his foot in, break up play and pass to the better players and get everyone going, we need a seth johnson type

Joey Barton is out of contract...

I've never booed any Derby player before, but I'll boo constantly if that fat scouse ***** ever gets sewn into a Derby shirt.

Your response is exactly why we won't get promoted for the foreseeable seasons then. As Rampage suggested, we need winners in this team. Nugent is a bit like Kevin Phillips was. He is an expert in helping teams get out of the championship. We need some players with his type of mentality unlike the bottlers mentality we currently have in the dressing room.We were linked with Joey Barton but some fans didn't want him due to his "baggage". Not surprisingly his team got promoted this season.

As said in another thread joey barton is exactly what we need. A bit of guile and steel in the middle of the park, win the ball, break up play & pass to the better players

he might not be the most talented but he wouldnt go out with a whimper like the lads did today, he'd battle 100% to the end and probably rally the players around him. Get him snapped up. You need more than technically good players to get out of this division

The only thing Nugent is an expert in is tapping in from two yards and then celebrating as if it some kind of achievement.

HUGE rebuild needed. Shown for 3 years that the spineless of the team will bottle it on the big occasion.

Said before that game that all that was certain was that Keogh and co would look flappy, and Martin would disappear. The rest was a lottery. Exactly what happened. Scared shitless. Rabbit in headlights.

Or... a load of lad on good money that know that they wouldnt get a game in the PL, and wouldn't get another contract like this one anywhere else in the championship...

Football manager is probably going cheap at the minute. Give it a go?

It what way are those football manager signings? We have been linked with all in the past apart from Bentley and Mcdonald. 6 signings is not too many

Its got beyond tinkering.  Its got beyond a rookie manager with or without an experienced mentor. Its got beyond deciding who to keep and who to let go.  We may be attached to some of them but these players have had 4/3/2 managers and still can't pull out the stops when it really matters. They are in their comfort zone and seem to want to stay there. Tinkering will keep us there. Some of us are happy in the same comfort zone . It can be exciting and full of promise and whatever we say in May we go away ,enjoy our break, and reassemble with renewed hope and inflated expectancies .AGAIN.

The only way out of this cycle is for Mel to grasp the nettle, appoint an experienced manager and give him the freedom to manage .... bring in his own ideas and the players he wants and picks to execute them........with togetherness and spirit and fight. The 'other' way has not worked. And more of the same wont either.  We don't want a Head Coach. A manager has his own team of coaches. His job is to MANAGE the footballing side of the Club. And he needs to be trusted to do this. In his own way.

Of course this might be what is going to happen ????
