Duracell
Good times to be a Derby fan, isn't it? A fair few on the Ipswich forum saying they like the look of Martin, which must be said through gritted teeth given he's a former Canary. Then you look at our bench and you see Darren Bent. Howzat for ambition? Not too long ago, we used to be the kids peering into the shop window. Not anymore.
robglosta
If you can't see how critical he is to our game then you don't understamd football. Absolutely huge today, my MOTM.
Leicester Ram
He had 1/2 a chance today, no, not even that; he had a 1/3 of a chance today. He scored it. Can't ask for much more in a game like today's.
t'oldu
Maybe you already do - but if not....... Surely Chris deserves a blast of Paradise chorus when he scores..It could go across the ground - or round like a Mexican Wave
CornwallRam
Two summers ago many people on here were saying that Martin had been brought in to be Sammon's back up, because Sammon was the better player. Anyone care to own up? Anyone still prefer Sammon?
Rampage
Martin's greatest asset is his footballing intelligence.

Anyone care to own up? Anyone still prefer Sammon? Never preferred Sammon, but have to confess that after the first few games I thought Martin would never be better than a 1 in 5 striker at this level. Glad to be being proved so comprehensively wrong.

Looks like we still don't have that 20 goal striker after all...30+ for Martin, Bent on the bench... just shows how far we've come.

HeyHudson
The thing with Martin is, although his legs aren't the fastest, his brain is, which makes up for it.

Lots were saying he was no good cos of what he DIDN'T do at Swindon.
CapeTownRams
There's lots of talk about Martin perhaps being a tad overweight for a footballer. What do we think ? Is he just someone who looks naturally solid or could he lose a couple of lbs off his abs ?
Donny Ram
Nice problem to have - how does Bent get in the team when Martin is performing as he is?

StaffsRam
Since making his move to DCFC permanent he's scored 43 goals in 82 games. That's a better average than Kevin Hector, Dean Saunders et al, and probably most bar Steve Bloomer. Granted this is the Championship rather than the top flight, but damn those are impressive numbers for CM!

Definitely our most consistent performer.
