DcFc Dyycheee
Liverpool are set to make a new approach to sign Derby County teenager Will Hughes during the January transfer window. Hughes, 18, was a target for the Reds during the summer but despite holding talks with Derby over a deal, they could not agree on a fee before the window closed. Brendan Rodgers remains a fan of his services though, and has instructed trusted scout Barry Hunter to continue reporting on his progress until the New Year. Liverpool value Hughes at around £6million, but would be prepared to go up to £10million as part of a package that would include bonuses if the player goes on to play for England at senior level. Rodgers wants him signed up once the window re-opens in January, with Arsenal and Manchester City also keen on the player. Hughes, a cultured central midfielder, is already part of Gareth Southgate’s Under-21 side, where he is considered a huge star for the future. Liverpool believe any deal could be part of a partnership between the two clubs, which would see the Anfield club send players to Pride Park on-loan, in return for the first option on their young talents. Hughes is contracted to Derby until 2016. - http://metro.co.uk/2013/09/11/liverpool-set-to-make-new-bid-for-derby-ace-will-hughes-in-january-3959253/?
