A 4-0 home defeat by Wolves in the 90s. Sunday afternoon and it was on the telly too. The ossie end was a depressing place.

Steve Bull hattrick? I'm sure that was play off vs lesta season but a horrible horrible game, i was about 9 and didnt think i'd ever be happy again!

Yep. One of those games where the opposition look like they are going to score with every attack and they pretty much did.

Not helped by the fact that I was living in Wolverhampton at the time and could see their ground every time I left the house. Scarred.

Just thought of another disappointment...Boro in FA Cup quarter final.

IIRC:

We got smashed in the league 6-1 by Boro, and then came the cup game, I think we lost 1-0.

I remember watching with my Dad on TV, I think either shown on TV as delayed, or we recorded it and watched it after coming home from 'something'. Depressing :(

Chesterfield would have beaten us - lol.

Standing with it  ******* down with rain at non league Crawley. Lost 2-1 with them scoring a last minute winner and all their fans running on the pitch waving us off. Made me physically sick.

This has to be worst in recent years or at least it irritates me most.

Commons missed penalty, Crawley manager (Evans?) being total barstewart, last minute winner and we were outplayed by non league club.

Pure crap except Pringe, who had pretty good game

Losing to Man U in Semi final of FA Cup at Hillsborough. Gordy Hill ruined our day.

I have little more else to add - it marked the start of the decline.

Nish had a perfectly good goal disallowed and Roger Davies missed a free header from a yard. If either of those had gone in/counted, we MIGHT have won, we MIGHT have gone on to win at Wembley and Tommy Docherty MIGHT never have happened.

Couldn't remember if it was 0-1 or 1-2. Think either Ravanelli or Juninho scored the winner

Mmmm........i never quite get this wallowing in misery......

The worst game

The worst player

The worst manager

The latest hate figure

The player who most deserves to be dropped

Etc etc

Close my eyes and count to ten

Boulton,

Webster

Robson

Durban

Mcfarland

Mackay

Mcgovern

Carlin

O'hare

HECTOR !!

Thats better.

Not quite sure anyone is wallowing in any misery, if anything, this thread should make you think of when times were worse, and by default, realise that things aren't that bad right now... thus, this is a 'positive' thread! :D

your right he got 3 my mistake still bad though

even more so as they played the hat-trick goals on any reel of highlights when talking about Emile Heskey! Particularly the one he mis-hit with the outside of his right foot and would've skewiffed wide if he was 8 inches further from goal!

Thought it was 2-0? Martin Taylor's return from a broken leg, Russell Hoult was dire at Boro when we lost 6-1, the best thing about that game was Simmo's free kick right at the end, great free kick.

A few of mine...

Plymouth 3 - 1 Derby County
Plymouth 2 - 0 Derby County

Went to both, travelling down on coach and losing to Plymouth is about as fun as a poke in the eye with a hot knife. I remember both so vividly.

Derby County 1 - 4 Ssausagehorpe

That game was rough, so so so rough - freezing too.

I wasn't around for the Leicester play-offs but more than remember the Preston game, it was horrible - I really went into that thinking we were ready for premier league football, even a trip to wembley but we were bossed up and down the pitch, really was a one-sided game that proved we weren't upto it.

and obviously, the two games that I will never shake, as long as I live..

Nottingham Forest 3 - 0 Derby County...

screams for Kinkladze to come on, followed by 'goodbye John Gregory' - horrible.

Nottingham Forest 5 - 2 Derby County

two quick fire Forest goals (which seemed pretty standard at games at Forest) followed by more misery piled on. Game seemed like a firm kick in the ********.

I know its been said by a few already but stnding on the Popside watching us lose to lower league Plymouth in that FA Cup QF was baaaad!

...and yes the fester play-off final, nuff said.

Also any away trip to Middlesborough, always go with my best mate (a boro fan) and yet to see us win!

Couple of highlights (just so I'm not too depressed)...

Down at the Den for the Millwall second leg play off final and one a bit obscure, seeing Paul Blades score his only Derby goal (30 yard screamer of a free kick past Ogrizovic) at BBG vs Coventry (was a poor game but I knew Paul and was made up for him)

Cheers
