A host of Championship clubs are chasing Derby County striker Theo Robinson, Sky Sports understands.

Derby are willing to let Robinson leave Pride Park this summer with the player not figuring in Nigel Clough's long-term plans.

Robinson spent the final three months of last season on loan at Huddersfield the summer signings of Johnny Russell and Chris Martin has pushed him further down the pecking order.

The 24-year-old impressed at Derby during the first half of last season scoring nine goals before finding himself frozen out of things under Clough.

Robinson is a proven performer in the Championship and several sides in the market for a striker are weighing up moves for the Jamaican international.

The likes of Leeds, Burnley and Middlesbrough are all thought to be monitoring Robinson's situation

Footballing ability wise he is far behind Martin, Russell, Ward and even Sammon  so he's not going to get anywhere near the starting 11 this season especially with the expectation of Bennett's continued development. If we can get around 400-700k for him aswell as getting him off the books it would be a good piece of business.

Looking at this another way, seeing as our 'new' strikers have more ability IMO it bodes well for Derby this season if teams such as Leeds, Burnley and Middlesborough are interested seeing as they have pretty good frontlines already!
