Posted July 30, 201311 yr http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8848295/ A host of Championship clubs are chasing Derby County striker Theo Robinson, Sky Sports understands. Derby are willing to let Robinson leave Pride Park this summer with the player not figuring in Nigel Clough's long-term plans. Robinson spent the final three months of last season on loan at Huddersfield the summer signings of Johnny Russell and Chris Martin has pushed him further down the pecking order. The 24-year-old impressed at Derby during the first half of last season scoring nine goals before finding himself frozen out of things under Clough. Robinson is a proven performer in the Championship and several sides in the market for a striker are weighing up moves for the Jamaican international. The likes of Leeds, Burnley and Middlesbrough are all thought to be monitoring Robinson's situation

July 30, 201311 yr Footballing ability wise he is far behind Martin, Russell, Ward and even Sammon so he's not going to get anywhere near the starting 11 this season especially with the expectation of Bennett's continued development. If we can get around 400-700k for him aswell as getting him off the books it would be a good piece of business. Looking at this another way, seeing as our 'new' strikers have more ability IMO it bodes well for Derby this season if teams such as Leeds, Burnley and Middlesborough are interested seeing as they have pretty good frontlines already!
July 30, 201311 yr Would love to get at least a million for him, doubt it though Not in a million years. (Unless Liverpool/ Forest are interested.)
July 30, 201311 yr Sounds like agents talk. Probably sign on loan for Doncaster. Nominal fee around the same he was signed for if sold.
July 30, 201311 yr Author Sounds like agents talk. Yep, no quotes from Derby at all, and I've not heard anything from the club recently suggesting a move anywhere is actually close. Still, at least it shows his name's still being put out there so maybe somebody will take the bait sooner rather than later!
July 30, 201311 yr Yeah, it sounds like agent/Derby feeding this one to create interest. Would happily take £500,000 if we can get it.
July 30, 201311 yr Be happy with 350K TBH - Theo wont get into the squad and its unfairto ask him to play in the reserves/U21s. Thanks for everything Theo - time to move on..........
July 30, 201311 yr I'd happily take £0 to get rid. Really and take such a big loss? He has to be worth something as while he isn't the best player his goal record isn't that bad and has proved he can score goals at champ level.
July 30, 201311 yr He is 7th choice striker currently? Russell, Martin, Sammon, Ward, Bennett, Tyson and then Robinson. I'd let Robinson and Tyson go for free.
