Good job Wildsmith, Cashin, White, Bird, Knight, Dobbin, Barkhuizen, Sibley, Rooney, Springett, Roberts are all nowhere near 30 isn't it then?

Fun fact, you could play all of these and rest all the "pensioners" for a week. Surely they don't need any more than that, otherwise they wouldn't still be playing the game? I mean, Forsyth isn't doing a bad job each week? Nor is McGoldrick. Nor is Hourihane or Mendez Laing a lot of the time

Tiredness is a lazy excuse. You're a professional athlete with world class facilities and staff at your disposal. Cut out the midweek drinking if you can't hack it

yeah you could play all those, and we would probably lose every week

there is not enough middle ground in our squad, it's either pensioners or youngsters. you go nowhere in football without players in their primes.

players DO get tired, especially older ones. people suggesting otherwise are deluded

Just don't buy tiredness as an excuse.

Firstly, start of the season we were talking about how a lot of the lads hadn't had a full preseason and were getting up to speed in the first few opening games. By that logic, surely we would peak later in the season and fade later also? Peterborough and all other clubs have had a longer season than some of our free agents who were out of contract and had a longer break than others?

Secondly, if your players are knackered on a matchday, that's a training issue. You can absolutely manage a players fitness to fill out a season. Recovery sessions, reduced workloads etc. Shouldn't take much for a professional footballer to rest and recover and be back ready to go

Thirdly, I know we have a thin squad but it's not like we don't have ample cover in every position. We could rest players if we needed to

how old are you mate? genuine question

when you get into your 30s recovery, training and keeping fit become much more difficult especially as a pro athlete.

there is a reason why most clubs avoid stacking their squad full of pensioners

This season wasn't a free hit when we got rid of the free hit manager and replaced him with a League One promotion specialist on a 4-year-deal. We firmly nailed our colours to the mast when we did that.

I think we're witnessing a painful regression to the mean. We were clean and clinical in our run of easier games but it's starting to unravel because our squad is too disjointed.

I don't agree that we "should" be pushing top 2. Almost every player in our squad wouldn't look out of place in a top 2 side in this league, but our squad is too much of a weird mix of grafters and tidy footballers for us to trouble the more coherent sides. Doesn't help that half the squad is learning how to shave and the other half is eligible for a free bus pass.

    exactly

clowes changed the goal posts with his sacking of LR and signings we have made (all short term and expensive).

i dont expect top 2 but i do expect us to be in the playoffs with our squad and its not looking good at the minute

it was utter utter crap today, warne is contiually making the same mistakes and worryingly of all we look hopeless against top half teams, which is a big probleem if you want to go up via the playoffs, but we will have to get there first.

like i stateed in the summer to much abuse, for me our squad is too old and has a hopeless demographic to be able to compete in a competitive division. we are seeing the problems now as we seem to get worse and more tired as games go on

We were woeful going forward.  Created virtually nothing after Barks header.  Mostly long hopeful punts upfield which just gave possession away and invited Plymouth onto us.

biggest problem for me was it was all so predictable and we have seen it before

Can't agree with this. Both against Shrewsbury and Plymouth we played really well first half. We went off after 45 in both games having played really very well. What we have failed to do in both matches is properly adjust to the opposition's change of tactic and tempo early in the second half. That might be partly a player fall-off issue, perhaps some tiredness in the legs, but I think we are being too slow in re-grouping, refreshing, changing our team up to negate the opposition's revised tactics.  We can get top 6. Still think we will. But the coaches need to start earning their bucks. Handing out coffee mugs is not sufficient.

Good first half displays are no good if you decide to collapse in the second half

it is a worrying trend & it becomes habit

  6. our squad is too reliant on too many old players, i said it in the summer when we were signing so many I never thought we got the balance right.

ok I can understand needs must be realistically when the business end of the season came around we would always struggle relying on such old players.

7 players involved yesterday were over 30 & compare that to Plymouth who had 3. and those that aren’t old are mostly unproven young players, we have no middle ground at all. I think the makeup of the squad is really poor

Warne was spot on post match. We struggle against the top six. It’s ok beating the pub teams 5-0 from the bottom six but we just don’t have the right players . Warne will need 2 transfer windows.

and it’s his job to fix that considering to get out of this league this year we will have to beat multiple top 6 teams

Snatch your hands off for a draw at home to Shrewsbury? I think your ambition might be called in to question a little here!

    and thats why

dont disrespect your opponent like we did today.

i take a point because no damage has been done, shrewsbury were our main challengers for our playoff place and no damage has been done today. to suggest its unambitious is pure arrogance

Yes I watched it thanks. Did you? It doesn't answer any of my points. The interviewer asks why the Saudis should be allowed to own a club if homosexuality is illegal in Saudi Arabia, as it clashes with the rainbow laces campaign, etc in England. Homosexuality is illegal in the UAE as well, but nobody is trying to stop Abu Dhabi from owning a football club. He says it can't be one rule for one club and a different one for everyone else, but that is exactly what it is. There are government officials on the board of Man City - if its an issue then you need to go after them as well.

it's the problem when you let states buy football clubs, politics gets dragged into it & people pick or choose sides based on foreign policy.

will be the same if qatar come in for somebody.

Why are they all going after the Saudis? Plenty of other dodgy owners in the Premier League with some also involved in human rights abuses. Strikes me as some of the other clubs not liking the increased competition in the league, so they're trying to stir up trouble. Either that or the Prem suddenly grew a conscience as a result of the new regulatory body rumours

it was the other top clubs that originally blocked the takeover then voted on rules changes instantly around sponsorships to stop them from growing.

i am not fighting the saudis corner but they are all acting with self interest & trying to protect their position

Genuine question, but has this season been fun for you watching Forest?

The games you have won, bar Leicester, have all been 1-0 where you have largely been outplayed.

The games you have lost, bar Wolves away, have seen you either hammered or throw away leads at home against the likes of Fulham and Bournemouth.

You spend almost every game second best, struggling to put together any cohesive attacking play, while going into the final 10 minutes you will be wishing for the game to end (either to end a drubbing or cling on to a 1-0 to get all 3 points).

And the worst part is, even if Forest survive, this is what it’s going to be like season upon season until you eventually go down.

we can laugh and poke fun at them but really we dream to be in that situation, to suggest otherwise is just jealousy. the only thing that matters for them is survival this season

you are right it will get boring if they do that season on season but equally league one will get boring very quick if we spend a few years down here. i know whos position i would rather be in.

I am feeling down and fed up now god that hurt today were has that fight gone sigh I left feel really really dead low I am in pain and makes feel even worse. I felt for old man on the way out some said broken his foot. I offered get him some help even through he had his family with him.

Just remember where we were this time last year mate. We didn’t know we would have a club to support

  13. Less so the result, but the performance was the most worrying thing today. We were outclassed by Barnsley in most areas of the pitch, they looked fitter and hungriest than us.

the best thing about today was that Wycombe lost. You hope the gap is big enough that we will do enough between now & the end of the season, but our form will have to pick up again. We haven’t responded well since that first defeat in ages.

I really don’t understand the hatred towards Daniel Levy there.

Since he became chairman they have finished top four multiple times, reached a CL final, broke transfer records, kept England’s best striker for years, finished 2nd in the PL and moved into a £1bn stadium.

Who were Spurs before? They were an Aston Villa or West Ham. Middle of the road club during the 90s and 00s but with a decent history (like many other clubs).

Since then they have become a super club, but one with limitations unlike City, United and Chelsea who could all spend what they wanted while Arsenal and Liverpool are bigger clubs.

I think Spurs have done brilliant to join that group and leave behind the likes of Villa, West Ham, Newcastle, Everton and Leeds who were all equally as big and traditional during the 90s and 00s.

levy has set spurs up for the next 50 years with their stadium

i dont get it either. they are probably the best ran club in the country and are now starting to give managers more money to spend.

the grass isnt always greener especially when the alternative will probably be an american hedge fund or a petro state
