Well you have made more than half of that up - I said it was a dreadful championship this season but you chose to change the narrative of what I said. If the sport’s journalists of the successful clubs say it’s been a very poor standard in the league it suggests it’s been not of a very high standard.

apologies I thought you said the premier was weak but people have been saying it all season I think it’s nonsense

Definitely will be a weaker Prem next year with a skint Sheff Utd and Luton going up. Be shocked if those two aren't the bottom 2.

Championship, however, should be much stronger next year with Ipswich/Plymouth/Leeds/Leicester/Southampton. No more point deductions or anything either. Was pretty bad this year though.

    yes I agree with that

Dreadful championship this season but they benefited from that - probably finish 20th and they would be the happiest club to do that

the premiership will be mortified to lose two of leeds,Leicester,Everton whilst being replaced by Luton and Burnley with Bournmouth still there. It’s a hard sell for the other clubs !

so as you have said it’s a dreadful premier league, a dreadful championship but let me guess league one is really strong

it might make us feel better to say teams only achieve things because leagues are low quality but it’s not true

We thought Forest would beat it.

    Alas, nobody will.

i think we wanted them to beat it just like we want Luton or anybody to take it

the reality is it will take some doing

teams coming up are learning togetherness and support gives you the best chance , that will get you enough to beat 11 everytime

even teams that are utterly hopeless haven’t come close yet

Ridiculous statement to make. I'm sure they will sell their stars for good money, but the reason they are here is because their recruitment has been poor. The championship is a tough league, it's fairly dumb to say they'll get over 100 points.

you still have to work hard , that is missing from Leicester players in the prem. they are not going to start bursting a gut in the league below

Leicester will be fine once they sell 3 players for 100 million, plus parachutes.  They should piss that league next year.  Over 100 points I'm reckoning if they keep half their squad and add a few.  That team going down is bonkers.

Leeds have a right load of old crap though on massive wages following massive fees no one will be arsed with.

leicester took out a loan last summer guaranteed on the clubs parachute payments and the owner has basically run out of money, I heard it on the radio this morning.

they will be knackered as they need a massive rebuild as everyone is out of contract or had 1 year left

factor all that into that they have the biggest wage bill of any relegated side with no parachute payments, if they don’t come straight back up they are knackered

I wouldn’t be that thrilled if we spent what little we have on someone like Langstaff. Seen him play a handful of times and he reminds me so much of Jack Marriott in play style. Completely useless outside the box in most circumstances. Not someone we need, and a little bit of a relic in today’s game. Maybe he could change up his style but he is 26 already.

agreed i would rather we look at players above and prem loans rather than below. especially at that price point.

  8. maybe an unpopular opinion but when you look at the overall output of the cat 1 academy it has been slightly underwhelming from our point of view and the amount of money that would have been pumped into it, not sure we would have got anything close to a return even though we had pick of the action in our catchment area. how did we let players like brennan johnson slip through the radar when we were cat 1?

how many premier league players have we realistically produced? will hughes?

i would be happy if we moved to a B team model

In fairness, I don’t think it matters. You can’t convince me that Forest or Bournemouth have a better side (set of players) than Leicester.

Forest have benefitted from a season of surprises and teams like Southampton and Leicester dropping way below standards.

Next season could be similar. Burnley or Sheffield United could finish top half while Fulham or West Ham go down.

One thing Forest have is a decent manager. But then again so was Hassenhuttl and Brendan Rogers.

Have you seen leicesters team this season lol

to be honest we have made every excuse under the sun as to why they are crap, the reality is they have done well to stay up and have set themselves up for a good while now.

we really needed them to come straight back down

I think Luton and Cov being in the playoff final is a real positive for clubs like us. They’re two clubs that have had managerial stability and build steadily towards and end goal without spending fortunes on a squad with big names.

Coventry have had Robins for 6 years and before the game last night he extended his contract til 2027. Luton obviously have a fairly new manager but built on about 6 years of work by Nathan Jones, only changing because he left twice.

Add Sunderland in to play-off mix who were looking at back to back promotions, and it shows that you can pull yourself out of a bleak situation fairly quickly.

what is that to do with us?

They haven’t been found guilty of any charges yet. But even still, I don’t understand what the big deal is.

    So they have spent money.

Well Man Utd have spent more on fees and wages than City over the past 10 years. PSG are another level entirely.

there are two teams in the prem that have a bigger wage bill than city

people just use the money insult out of envy, reality is they have always had money and werent this dominant, what they are now is a fantastic side that is well coached

City are probably going to win the treble this season.

Are they the greatest side ever?

I rank Barcelona 2009-11 as the greatest ever side, but I think this City side are more physical and have more areas covered.

They are like a hybrid of the finesse and sheer dominance on the ball that Barcelona had plus the physicality of that Bayern Munich 2013 side which also won everything.

United’s 99 side won everything. But they didn’t dominate sides. They ground out the league on like 79 points which would finish 3rd in any other season and they fluked the CL after being a distant second best to Bayern for 89 minutes.

i think they are. they are the definiton of perfection as a football team. the points tallys they rack up is insane.

you are dead right they are like a hybrid of the best bits of both bayern & barca put together.

the only thing they are missing is the chamions league.

  13. 9 minutes ago, Kernow said:

So what we're saying is that they have failed to get promoted with 96 points, more than any other team to miss out before. They will likely be changing their manager, and will be a couple of weeks or so behind us in terms of preparation.

Still, at least they got to cheer Peterborough winning a week ago.

also shows that its not going to be the breeze many seem to think it will be getting out of this league

I still think Forest will go down I can't see them getting any more points this season, I think Leeds with Allardyce will stay up I even think they have a chance against  Newcastle . Leicester look like there doomed.

i dont think many will pick up points, all teams have very difficult games. it will take a real few suprise results to change positions now which as we know is still possible

I think the 'style' issue is a difficult one because a lot of football fans have been brainwashed into thinking that unless you have 50 passes through the lines, starting with the goalkeeper then you play ugly football.

This argument has been strengthened by the dogged insistence that stats and possession data should dictate the future of football. Its a strange one because somebody like Brian Clough who hated hoofball, never played out from the back, however he was considered a manager who played good football.

Anybody who watched our game yesterday couldn't describe us as a long ball team. We largely played the ball on the floor and as far as I'm concerned, if we do that quickly, we have more chance of catching the opposition out of position.

Warnes style will be defined next season when he has the players he wants, but I'd say that the signs so far are promising that we will play a fast, pressing, attacking style of football.

i agree about the brainwashing stuff.

i find teams that play from the back and just tippy tap it absolutely boring and a terrible style of football.

for me good football and a good style is aggressive, high intensity football played at a very quick pace. football is boring when played slowly, it doesnt matter whether you hoof it or pass it from the back, its boring to watch

we will know more about warne based on who he recruits this summer, i dont want old cloggers that are set up for hoof ball. i want young quick players that can travel with the ball.
