kevinhectoring got a reaction from Tamworthram in The Administration Thread
It seems likely that MM’s support is needed to allow PB to be announced
In other words, that on some scenarios (relegation?) he has to put more money in - over and above the £200?m he’s already spent - to pay off MSD.
He could just have said ‘I’ll spend no more’ in which case I think we’d be getting different noises from Q. So the signs are he’s working with Q to agree a basis on which a deal can proceed with his support.
Your post suggests you know for a fact that MM is doing nothing and you’ve not explained what basis you have for that.

imagine if you were Mel and Ashley said: I need you to pay off the debt on the stadium for free if the club is relegated.
I think you might say ‘Ok I agree, because I want to ensure liquidation is avoided. But if I do that, I need to share in your upside as the club recovers.
that might be where the discussions are and - if so - it’s a complicated negotiation

Do you know what he is or is not doing ?
and are you implying he should not have dealt with Gibbo ?

Chelsea aren't getting 110 million of taxpayers money,it is money the government had frozen. The government have just relaxed the restrictions on their frozen bank account to allow them to play, the sanctions weren't against the club they were against the owner.

kevinhectoring reacted to hintonsboots in Poll: what's going to happen?
Mike Ashley will buy the club and even though his reputation for swooping on distressed businesses is well known, his love of football must mean that he wouldn’t want to start on -15 next season. It’s a game of poker and he wants to see the hands of the other interested parties before raising. The Binnies have folded. He will offer the minimum to avoid further EFL penalties, but the entire deal depends on Mel taking on at least half of the MSD stadium loan. Mel took a while to intervene in parasite world and I suppose is taking a while now to do the right thing. Let’s hope a PB is named by next Wednesday ( 4-5 working days) as Quantuma are running out of deadline naming rights.

I’d be interested to know what MM would need to do for you to give him any credit.
The ‘claim’ Gibbo threatened was MFC against dcfc. It was a weak and speculative claim.
Any claim against MM directly would have even weaker and more speculative. To suggest he didn’t have the interests of the club at heart in agreeing the settlement is facile

He might tell Morris he can keep his stadium and Derby will play their home games elsewhere.

Whether there is or isn't a conspiracy (there isn't, they're just wildly inconsistent or incompetent), it does us no favours for Rooney to be openly questioning it in interviews imo. It doesn't reflect well and comes across as a bit desperate.
We lost last night because of a lack of magic and experience in our squad. We got into numerous good setups around their box, but almost always tried to take on one man too many, picked the wrong pass or missed good runs. You could see it in the frustration of Morrison and CKR when the likes of Ebosele and Plange got it wrong. That's part of having a team of inexperienced but talented youngsters though - they need space and time to make mistakes and learn from them.

Looking at it tonight, Reading not so very hard to catch but Barnsley irritatingly stubborn

I've been saying this all season. Better defensively, better going forward. Scores goals as well. Its a no-brainer. I don't know what Rooney is seeing.

It was a penalty and it was a poor decision today.
But I think we as fans often ignore the decisions that go our way and remember the ones that don't.
Plange was offside vs Barnsley for the wonderfully worked goal, and there was also an offside in the build up to the equaliser vs Birmingham.
Now both games may well have ended up going our way anyway (dominating vs Barnsley prior to that decision) but you never know. There have been plenty of occasions decisions have gone for and against us. It's just human nature to remember the one's against more so.
I don't want Rooney talking too much about it personally. His accusation against officiating after the Cardiff game was embarrassing. More maturity and professionalism required in those elements - not to take away from the unbelievable job he is doing.

I’d always thought that part of it was that the players want to impress the new manager. Also that they have more belief if playing for someone who has a clean slate rather than for someone who is failing

Wish our journalists would stop asking Rooney what the situation off the pitch is. At best it’s pointless. More likely it’s damaging

Unrealistic to expect Ashley to have bought us before the window closed (as @ollycutts1982suggested) because the vile Gibbo claim was still ongoing
