Yep. Looks like that’s about the sum of it. And as things stand I think we should be grateful
My Dad was a contractor and always said he thought Charlie Clowes was a decent guy. Not sure whether he knew DC but there’s every indication that - just as Charlie did before him - DC is stepping in for the benefit of the club in our hour of need
There’s a decent chance he’ll make some money out of it. I don’t think that’s what’s driving him, but I hope he does

eFL doing everything to ensure they can’t be blamed if it all goes tit$ up. So I think they’ll do a quick F&P on anyone q sends their way

Our hero’s name dont rhyme with blouse
nor does it rhyme with flows
(he’s treated us to Mel’s last bows
He’s bloodied Ashley’s nose)
give him his dues, we had the blues
He steps in with fantastic news
so please excuse the rave reviews
our hero’s name is Clowes

Didn't Clowes first get involved to buy PP for Kirchner to lease/rent off him, so bringing in someone else to help with funding wouldn't be a surprise, if he can find someone he can work with.

I am reserving judgment on Clowes until I see if there’s chorizo and butterbean stew on the concourse menu or not.
It’s the small things.

I alluded to this last night. Clowes is a reluctant hero/owner, whereas Morris' ownership was fuelled by Ego and delusions of grandeur. It was evident at Breakfast Club that he wanted to be regarded as a god-like being for splashing his cash.
I am convinced Clowes will become owner out of love and duty.

I was agreeing with his first sentence, not the rest of his post

It says he’s submitted a bid. Does not say it’s been accepted so suggests he’s willing to be outbid.

Just read David Clowes’s statement with tears in my eyes. Brilliant, has a ring of class, humility and sincerity. We are emerging from the darkness…

“With a deadline looming and the start of the next season getting close, we needed to do something.”
Not all heroes wear capes!

I'm delighted to be wrong being a Derby fan. However the fat lady hasn't quite finished the song yet. Still a good reason to have half a pint of mild. Cheers.

I didn't realise how much this was affecting me. I was convinced I wasn't that bothered. I've lost my grandmother last week and have other issues and thought there were more important things in life.
I'm not too ashamed or masculine to admit that after reading those Clowes press release snippets on Twitter, I realised my eyes had welled-up a little and I have let out a massive sigh. I now want to have a celebratory drink and put this nightmare behind me.
I am however realistic enough to know that the football side could well be a struggle for a few years, and I have no expectations, but to know that my home-city club, a club I followed home and away for most of my adult life, a club that I committed thousands of pounds to over the years, a club that has made me laugh, smile, groan and sob, will continue to exist means a lot to me personally.
Cheers boys and girls.

I will allow myself to be happy when I know who is responsible for running the football side of things.
I expect Clowes to be considering how the stadium can be used to greater effect in raising funds.
I also hope he gets feedback on the catering side.
It would be nice to have a food option that wasn’t swimming in grease, a beer that didn’t have such a massive CO2 carbon footprint and a decent cup of tea and coffee.

Seems strange that after seemingly sorting the stadium situation out quietly without any fanfare, he has just decided he wants to do the whole thing.
Really smacks of a genuine fan, dabbling in an area he understood- then watching as the club burned while other people deliberated, time-wasted and played to the audience. So he has decided to just go the whole hog and sort the sorry state out before its too late.
Very likely he can get investment from AA medium term or get the club on the way back up and sell to a bigger fish like MA to eventually push us to the next stage.
Seems like good news all-round to me.

To be fair, if there is any element of staged payments (35% over 3 years etc), it's in the interests of the creditors that the club doesn't go pop in 6 months time.

Morning everybody - very pleased we probably have a buyer and I don’t mind if he is just buying us to save us then sell us, I don’t mind if he wants to team up with AA and have more invested at a later time and I don’t even mind if he gets Morgan to sponsor the shirts with REDROW all over them if it helps, yes I don’t mind if the stadium has sports direct splattered all over it with sponsorship from Ashley - we need help from all of them if we can

In fairness, not sure many of your posts have benefitted the forum, or your fellow posters and their mental health and anxiety. I've purposely avoided engaging with you, but find it in bad taste that you call someone else out!

Don’t think MA is a teaming up sort of guy. And would DC want him as a co-investor !! ?
AA may be, not least because he might not have found enough investors and he’s used to running consortiums
have no idea about SM.
As others have said, DC is saving our bacon, he’s not mad keen to buy. So his plan may be to buy the stadium. Then to make a binding offer for the club so that q can say to the other bidders: it’s yours if you outbid DC
