also think we need a far better GK
Allsop looked ropey first time out. Asked to play a different way and behind backs he didn’t know. Ended up being as good as any we’ve had recently.

Not sure but thank goodness his money was non-existent.
Not sure the money failed to arrive. How much of it actually belonged to CK is a different question

Consider himself very unlucky last season. Wasn't sure when he arrived but actually looked decent. At this level he is a great player.
Disappointing how little we saw of him last season Great signing

I'd like a bit of flexibility. if we can get a couple of players in who are comfortable in more than one position, we can dynamically change the formation to react to what we're seeing from the opposition.
For example, if we start with a 4-2-3-1, and we see the opposition trying to crowd the middle of the park and press our midfielder - I'd like on of our holding midfielder to be able to drop into a back three and release the full-backs to attack more (of course this relies on full-backs also being comfortable and capable wing-backs). Possibly ambitious, but it's that type of dynamism we will need to walk this league.
It will be interesting to see whether Liam can do this. We didn’t respond well ‘in game’ last season and Liam spent plenty of time in Rooney’s ear...

You get the feeling we're treating every batting innings like a one day match.
The scoring rate has been better than one day games in the 80s and 90s!
We'll either eke out stonking high scoring victories or lose inside 3 days I suspect.....
love the mentality that says: we’ll let them bat... and we’ll chase them down They have turned the game on its head
But what was Bumhra doing? Jadeja is a better spinner than anyone we had on the pitch, he’s got a few square feet of rough to bowl into, we’ve got a load of left handers - and we hardly see him.
Captains may matter more in cricket than football but can’t help comparing the decision to make a Root captain with the appointment of Tom Lawrence

Is Rooney still making sure everyone gets their job back following the takeover ????????
No he’s busy answering awkward questions about the CK bid

I think he wants a one year playing contract with a promise to keep on after the year in a coaching role.
Ah ok. A bit awkward given that Liam is only an interim appointment but can see the club might go for it

That's why we have to comply with the EFL plan, to stop us making the same mistakes. We are under far more scrutiny than any other club in League 1 so I think we just need to relax and trust DC not to try to find loopholes etc.
Isnt it that we have to comply with the EFl plan to stop us benefiting from administration/debt write off ?

I don't think we should offer a 37 year old more than a 1 year contract.
Completely agree. Disappointed if Curtis has pressed for more particularly given what DC has just done for us
If Curtis plays a good season and deserves renewal, fine, all credit to him

I at least hope he stays and plays enough for it to become clear whether he has it or not. Rooney gave so many young players endless opportunity last season but not Sibley...Why would be my question..
Frankly I’d rather he’d given Watson more chances. And fewer to Lee who had every opportunity but has not improved in the last 48 months

Won't miss them although of the 3 Festy is the most likely to succeed at top level because he is powerful & quicker to learn.
Festy is like one of those golfers who smacks the ball 420 yards in competitions in texas attended by people who wear MAGA hats. But who can’t putt, chip, pitch or even bend over to pick up the ball from out of the hole. And why Italy, the country where the football aficionados admire an elegant 0-0 draw !! ?
Ebiowei will be twice the player

True, I guess it's the players agents job to find the best deal but that isn't what may appeal most to the player
But once the agent has identified the best money deal, his next objective is to persuade the player it’s the best career move

Have the EFL ratified any of our recent transfer dealings yet or are they gonna wait until the last day of the window and then pull the plug? Wouldn't surprise me in the least if they did.
I’d have thought it’s a rubber stamp for any transfer/loan which falls within the business plan no?

If you build around Sibley at this level then you've got a chance to win any game. No question his performances dropped off a cliff under Rooney, but he was still extremely outstanding in his handful of PL2 performances.
He is such an outstanding player and if Rosenior gets a tune out of him then he could well be the catalyst for everything we want to achieve next season.
He was 18/19 getting double marked in the Championship under Cocu. The good Rooney did for the club is undoubted, but it never clicked with Sibley at all. Players were given far more opportunities than him and performed far worse. No surprise that results dipped when we started to lean on him far less too.
He's a special footballer.
You praise Rooney and Sibley, but they both had a load of very poor games last season. I know LS didn’t play much but look at his player ratings when he did. May have been a case of the wrong position, the wrong players around him. But he really is running out of chances to prove he’s the One.

No problem with the lad going to Italy. It’s about leaving us with nothing from our investment in him. As I said I’d of liked to see him give us a season or at least have signed a contract so someone had to pay us something. But not not young Ebosele. It’s so long thanks for all the investment and putting my profile out there. Pardon? Help DCFC out because they’re broke? No chance I’m off.
Some of these players who are off might find it hard to work out whether they felt loyalty more to Rooney, or to the club

Unfortunately not, a takeover of a company is of all its Assets and its liabilities known or unknown. Remember the purchaser is taking over an existing legal entity.
I don’t consider WW claim to have any legal merit at all
Agree with you about the WW claim

The purchaser assumes all liabilities known or unknown, the only way to avoid any issues to settle any known litigation before the takeover.
The other method is reduce the purchase price to reflect risk of any, unsettled, outstanding litigation which should take place after the takeover.
I think it depends whether you acquire shares, or assets and liabilities
Buy shares and you get the business warts and all
Buy the business and you assume whatever liabilities you agree to assume under the business transfer agreement
DC bought the business apparently and if q did their own deal with Couhpig (they indicated they did) then the Couhpig liabilities would have been excluded in the BTA Id think

It is my understanding that with a take over all the debts and liabilities, whether they are known at the time of the sale or not, are assumed by the new owner.
Sorry Alf
Well except that the unsecured creditor claims will presumably be paid by q/old DCFC, as will MsD and hmrc. So in this case you’d think the liabilities transferred will exclude various things. I doubt DC has assumed any liability to WW

I don't want to open a closed wound if it's closed...is it over and if it is...where has this been reported or is it that as we're now under new ownership WW can not pursue a case in court ?♀️
Yeah that seems likely. The ambulance chaser’s ‘claim’ was against old DCFC and quite possible that liability was NoT transferred to DC’s company under the asset transfer agreement. Q suggested months ago the whole thing was manageable so maybe they agreed with Couhpig months ago to pay WW’s legal fees on the club leaving administration - in which case Couhpig’s law firm will doubtless have been billing WW weekly at top whack rates

This is the one that the club was https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/00049139/filing-history last update was the administrators report in April. Not sure if this will still be the club going forward ?
Yes that’s it. Seems the DCdeal involved that company selling the club and its business to DC’s newco. (That transfer was what enabled Lee Buchanan to argue he was not under contract, on the basis his employer had changed so he could repudiate (bit disappointed he did that))
anyway the company you identify has owned the club and been called that since the 1880s. Hopefully they will find a way to transfer the old name to the newco once the old company is liquidated

Does it matter?
Don’t like the company name.
if you do a company house search on companies whose name begins with Derby County there are a fair few. There seems to be a guy on Broadway (in Duffield?) who in March snaffled some of the more sensible names (I guess by buying shelf companies and changing the name to things like Derby County Ltd). May have been something to do with CK’s bid I guess. Wonder whether he tried to sell those to DC’s team...?
Perhaps it’s possible for the old company to change its name and for the new club company then to assume the old one ?♂️

Yes. Shame we saw so little of him back end of last season
