I don't want to open a closed wound if it's closed...is it over and if it is...where has this been reported or is it that as we're now under new ownership WW can not pursue a case in court ?‍♀️

Yeah that seems likely. The ambulance chaser’s ‘claim’ was against old DCFC and quite possible that liability was NoT transferred to DC’s company under the asset transfer agreement.  Q suggested months ago the whole thing was manageable so maybe they agreed with Couhpig months ago to pay WW’s legal fees on the club leaving administration - in which case Couhpig’s  law firm will doubtless have been billing WW weekly at top whack rates

This is the one that the club was https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/00049139/filing-history last update was the administrators report in April. Not sure if this will still be the club going forward ?

Yes that’s it. Seems the  DCdeal involved that company selling the club and its business to DC’s newco. (That transfer was what enabled Lee Buchanan to argue he was not under contract, on the basis his employer had changed so he could repudiate (bit disappointed he did that))

anyway the company you identify has owned the club and been called that since the 1880s. Hopefully they will find a way to transfer the old name to the newco once the old company is liquidated

    Does it matter?

    Don’t like the company name.

if you do a company house search on companies whose name begins with Derby County there are a fair few. There seems to be a guy on Broadway (in Duffield?)  who in March snaffled some of the more sensible names (I guess by buying shelf companies and changing the name to things like Derby County Ltd). May have been something to do with CK’s bid I guess. Wonder whether he tried to sell those to DC’s team...?

Perhaps it’s possible for the old company to change its name and for the new club company then to assume the old one  ?‍♂️

It didn’t sound like that at all, it sounded like he wants to sign for another year, but when he’s finished he wants to go into media.
He said he’s not interested in coaching, but didn’t rule it out at some point in the distant future. He’s probably only saying that in case the media career doesn’t come off.
my guess is that his contract he signs with us will give him the leeway to start doing media work, similar to what RSav did in his last season.

Fair enough. Didn’t hear it and sounds like I got the wrong end of the stick

I'd settle for losing Knight and Bielik if we can keep Bird and Sibley at least one more season.

Don't think I will get the opportunity to choose, though!

As well as agents, Knight will have the entire RoI staff in his ear telling him he needs to move. In the right set up he could be useful in the PL so will be surprised to see him in L1. Would love Bielik to stay but am guessing we can fund at least 2 others on his comp. just have a feeling Bird might stay and if Bielik goes he has an important role

I have a feeling Curtis Davies could be holding out for Rosenior to be made permanent.

Curtis being the man he is, I could imagine him saying show the manager some loyalty before I commit.

an unsurprising sign of Curtis’ loyalty, if that’s what it’s about. But LR is untried in this role and if he does not succeed the price of terminating a long contract could cause us major issues under the EFL business plan.

did wonder btw whether Curtis might want to become player/captain/assistant coach

Wouldn’t want to predict how Rooney will be remembered before the outcome of the FA investigation into Stretford is complete. Still wondering what CK meant when he said: ‘it’ll all come out’

I posted elsewhere that Curtis confirmed he was in talks about a new deal on Friday, though he hasn't started preseason training yet as he's been ill.

"I went in on Friday to have a discussion regarding my new deal and that's where we're at. We've had a discussion, yes it is a further discussion to be had, but I'm hopeful we can get something sorted."

    From https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/curtis-davies-makes-liam-rosenior-7287312

Interesting this stuff about Curtis and Liam.  Maybe Curtis really is saying: “I want you to appoint Liam permanently.” Can imagine they got pretty close when Liam was Rooney’s ‘defensive coach’

I hope we will have Buchanan, Byrne, Bielik, Bird and Knight but it’s a bit optimistic to think we will have all of them don’t you think?

In two minds about Krystian - with the EFl £ constraints we’ll have firepower for a few others if he goes out on loan, which could involve further strengthening in Jan. Guess he’s still too close to injury for a decent sale to be an option ?

I think the 40 signing remark was with renewing contracts including contracts from the youth academy. Obviously they can't be all for the first team.

think that remark may have  come from Rooney’s PR team. Intended to show what a great job he was doing and possibly also to ward off any competition to CK’s bid

Well now we can start speculating!

Assuming we're still interested in players that we've been linked with before (and rumours of up to 10 new signings coming through the doors coming to fruition) the squad could look a bit like this:

    GK: NEW, Wildsmith, Foulkes
RB: Byrne (or NEW if he leaves), Bardell
    CB: Chester, Stearman, Davies, Cashin
LB: Buchanan (or NEW if he leaves), Forsyth
    CM/DM: Bird, Robinson, Hourihane, Thompson
    RM: Barkhuizen, Richards
    AM: Knight, Sibley
LM: Lawrence (yes, very unlikely, I know!), Mendez-Laing
ST: Collins, Niasse, Kazim-Richards, Cybulski, Stretton

    Not bad!

Well this is what other clubs’ fans are on about. We’ve got no debt and no points deduction and most likely a strong squad that should bring us straight back up. Of course they forget that we’ve been relegated, been through 18 months of hell and have been forced to haemorrhage home grown talent.  And that our greatest strength now is our fan base , and how can they object to that ...

Don't want to come across as greedy as we had a great start to the weekend with the takeover, the middle has piqued our interest with a few new signings/extensions, but it wouldn't half be nice to end it tomorrow with a few more!  Curtis can conclude proceedings in the new kit and armband followed by Rosenior talking about signing his 2 year deal (as thats what they all seem to be) and his plans to get us back into the Championship.

Its been a long time since we've been allowed to feel optimistic ?

Liam is an interim appointment. Would love him to succeed and become permanent but for now won’t any contract extension be short term ?

Great news this one!!! Cashin signing is big for both now and the future, hope he’s followed by a few of the other’s ?

It is great news - he’s as talented as any of the youngsters. Just wonder whether we have Curtis to thank for this. Plenty will have been telling him he needs a championship football

Hi, not sure about the lagalities of this, but is there anyway someone can set up a just giving page for Dave Clowes, to say thank you and show our support! If every adult fan put in just £10 it must add up to about half a million towards the running of the club!! Not sure how it would stand with the EFL for them to take the money and use it, but if they couldn't use it directly, maybe it could be used to buy a sponsorship deal with the club for a local children's charity, it would just be a way to say thank you for saving the club!!

    Just buy tickets !
