    It's his choice.

Last season lots were saying they wouldn't blame him if he walked away. Now he has done...

Maybe it was his choice, leaving us. We may never know tho it will be interesting to see what the FA investigation throws up

I'm sure he's been training with the rest of the players, just like last year.

He’s a legend so no doubt he’ll be fine. But I had the impression he thought his negotiating position was weakened if he went in. And that he’d therefore been at home on his Wattbike

I seem to recall from that particularly stressful day that he wanted to play ,regardless of his lack of fitness and the possibility of aggravating his previous injury.and that if he did get injured he wouldn’t hold the club accountable. At that moment, for me,he became a Club legend.

It’s excellent news. Unfortunate delay tho - he’s got his work cut out if he’s going to be sharp for Oxford

I'd like a bit of flexibility. if we can get a couple of players in who are comfortable in more than one position, we can dynamically change the formation to react to what we're seeing from the opposition.

For example, if we start with a 4-2-3-1, and we see the opposition trying to crowd the middle of the park and press our midfielder - I'd like on of our holding midfielder to be able to drop into a back three and release the full-backs to attack more (of course this relies on full-backs also being comfortable and capable wing-backs). Possibly ambitious, but it's that type of dynamism we will need to walk this league.

It will be interesting to see whether Liam can do this. We didn’t respond well ‘in game’ last season and Liam spent plenty of time in Rooney’s ear...

You get the feeling we're treating every batting innings like a one day match.

The scoring rate has been better than one day games in the 80s and 90s!

We'll either eke out stonking high scoring victories or lose inside 3 days I suspect.....

love the mentality that says: we’ll let them bat... and we’ll chase them down   They have turned the game on its head

But what was Bumhra doing? Jadeja is a better spinner than anyone we had on the pitch, he’s got a few square feet of rough to bowl into, we’ve got a load of left handers  -  and we hardly see him.

Captains may matter more in cricket than football but can’t help comparing  the decision to make a Root captain with the appointment of Tom Lawrence

Is Rooney still making sure everyone gets their job back following the takeover  ????????

No he’s busy answering awkward questions about the CK bid

That's why we have to comply with the EFL plan, to stop us making the same mistakes. We are under far more scrutiny than any other club in League 1 so I think we just need to relax and trust DC not to try to find loopholes etc.

Isnt it that we have to comply with the EFl plan to stop us benefiting from administration/debt write off ?

I don't think we should offer a 37 year old more than a 1 year contract.

Completely agree. Disappointed if Curtis has pressed for more particularly given what DC has just done for us

If Curtis plays a good season and deserves renewal, fine, all credit to him

I at least hope he stays and plays enough for it to become clear whether he has it or not. Rooney gave so many young players endless opportunity last season but not Sibley...Why would be my question..

Frankly I’d rather he’d given Watson more chances. And fewer to Lee who had every opportunity but has not improved in the last 48 months

Won't miss them although of the 3 Festy is the most likely to succeed at top level because he is powerful & quicker to learn.

Festy is like one of those golfers who smacks the ball 420 yards in competitions in texas attended by people who wear MAGA hats. But who can’t putt, chip, pitch or even bend over to pick up the ball from out of the hole.  And why Italy, the country where the football aficionados admire an elegant 0-0 draw !! ?

Ebiowei will be twice the player

If you build around Sibley at this level then you've got a chance to win any game. No question his performances dropped off a cliff under Rooney, but he was still extremely outstanding in his handful of PL2 performances.

He is such an outstanding player and if Rosenior gets a tune out of him then he could well be the catalyst for everything we want to achieve next season.

He was 18/19 getting double marked in the Championship under Cocu. The good Rooney did for the club is undoubted, but it never clicked with Sibley at all. Players were given far more opportunities than him and performed far worse. No surprise that results dipped when we started to lean on him far less too.

    He's a special footballer.

You praise Rooney and Sibley, but they both had a load of very poor games last season. I know LS didn’t play much but look at his player ratings when he did.   May have been a case of the wrong position, the wrong players around him. But he really is running out of chances to prove he’s the One.
