Wildsmith  8.5  motm (but of course the keeper can’t win that unless say he saves two penalties). Their sublime goal was unstoppable and from what I could see his performance was perfection

    Smith 6.5

Cashin 7 he’s being forced to kick with his right foot and doing ok. Needs to listen to Shaun Barker when it comes to attacking corners

Forsyth 7.5 made good use of acres of space in the second half, after a wobbly start. That ball through to Osula was the highlight

    Roberts 6.5

    Mendez-Laing 7.5 love him

    Thompson 5

    Sibley 6.5

    Bird 6  ?

Dobbin 7.5 love his spirit and effort, end product is improving

McGoldrick 7.5 a class of his own and lots of work in the first half

    Osula 6

Collins 7.5 would have been a hat trick another day

Apart from a penalty and the assist for the goal.

I like dobbin as I said in my post so please don’t get the wrong idea. I thought the drive for the pen was special. He hit the turbo charge just when he needed to. But tbh if he’d made it past the defender his angle was not the best to capitalise.

the assist for the goal I can hardly remember but I think it was a very modest display of skill. Credit to Sibley for finding that space, it was a simple pass. Messy deflected shot though compared to theirs, it could be their goal of the season

Dobbin made the bye line several times and failed to make a simple cut back to a man in dangerous space. He’s still learning.

I do realise it’s nice for him to be motm. I’m just saying there were probably 4 other more worthy winners

We could have won by five goals and should have won by at least two goals which is better than not creating a chance

Putting aside the two soggy penalties, we failed to score on two occasions because Collins hit his chances so hard. Don’t mind that at all they’ll go in next time

Birds fault for their goal, its not like he only miss passed it once for their goal he did it 6 or 7 times at one point mcgoldrick and collins throw his arms in the air and turn towards him! He did better then normal but its still below the standards that are expected. It always happens even to the standard of Sunday morning football you can have someone who can barely kick a ball (a fill in player) and a good standard amateur and always concisely good that 1 player who has a half decent game stands out because hes done more then normal/expected, this is what i feel fans have seen them 2nd balls is his job to win hes a professional footballer hes getting paid to do that it shouldn't be a stand out thing that hes won a couple of second balls against

I was surprised how much Shaun Barker on RamsTV was bigging up Sibley and Bird. Sibley played well in parts and Bird had his moments too but overall the two of them were far from exceptional. But listening to Barker you’d think they were off the charts. What’s going on? Does Warne have influence on the pundits ? does Barker think Sibley and Bird have been getting a raw deal on Twitter (and on here)?
And I like Dobbin and think he’s making progress but Hobgoblin motm? Some great dribbling, good use of pace, and high energy, but not great decision making and so not much came of it.

I’ve always though SB talks good sense, albeit from a rams perspective, but just now he seems to be descending into the dark arts of spinning the fans

(don’t like his new wardrobe much either)

I really am not sure what some of you lot have been watching. We've been pretty decent, created a fair few chances a missed a penalty, should have been given another one. Another night, we're 2 or 3 nil up. Certainly not ideal to be behind, but also not the end of the world.

Playing one of the weakest sides in the league, our defence looks shaky, our control in midfield has been intermittent oh err another pen

Be’s put in several good corners and a free kick, and had a good shot which was blocked. Apart from that, ………

Sure he’s doing what he’s told but why wouldn’t we vary the corners to keep them guessing  ?

Bird pretty average so far and Sibley not much better

Not living up to your name, a 4 goal win would take us to 5th?

Yes. Then Portsmouth have morecombe then we have Portsmouth. They’re now owned by a Disney billionaire and are reportedly very well run so maybe a team we’ll be jostling with for promotion. Hope they’re not too busy in Jan. They are not short of money

I was right behind it too from the halfway line in East Stand. It was the best view I have had of all six penalties. From my view it was definitely not a penalty - the people around me were of the same opinion. The Rovers player was a third of the way down in his fall before the ball even got to them. Still, at least it didn't affect the result this time.

Suggest you watch the tv replay.

We aren't allowed to be critical of players, manager or even owner decisions? If not, how long are we supposed to wait before we can?

In my opinion, no one should be beyond criticism. In the current situation, that includes the manager who isn't getting as much out of these players as the previous manager and has made several odd comments regarding the players, and the owner who chose to appoint a manager who wants to implement a style not suited to the squad, a decision which will seriously impact other elements of the club which have been a major plus in recent years (academy and fan unity).

Did someone hack into your account ?

    1. Was it not possible to appoint Warne during the summer so that he could assemble the squad that he would have wanted?
    2. Did Warne assure him that he could work with the current squad or is he expecting a lot of trading during upcoming transfer windows? (And follow up: how frustrating would that be?).
    3. Does he and Warne put much emphasis on the Academy, including recruitment of young talent and Category 1 status?
    4. Was the aim promotion this season or, given Warne's 4 year contract, the bigger picture is the Derby County rebuild with promotion as and when it happens?
    5. Are targets - e.g. regarding league position, academy graduates breaking into the first team - being set?
    6. Onto more general things: over what timescales does he see himself as the owner? Having been reluctant in the first instance, would he be looking to sell? Soon? In the Championship? In the Premier League?
    7. Given Warne's title is Head Coach rather than Manager, will the club be appointing a Director of Football to oversee transfers, playing strategies etc?

You can ask these questions all you want. Most people can guess what the fobbing off answers will be. They won’t tell you what you want to know, you just have to wait. Actions speak louder than words

    I hope not.

We all know Nigel Pearson’s 4-4-2 direct football was never going to work after Clough and McClaren had built a possession-based 4-3-3 side.

I’m sensing a deja vu. Sort of.

We had to get bodies in the building during the summer. But all of our signings were geared towards a possession-based 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.

Smith, Hourihane and McGoldrick are three ball-playing central players. NML and Bark wide forwards.

But after just a handful of games we have ripped up the summer recruitment by ditching Rosenior and going for a manager with a completely different style.

Paul Warne plays 3-5-2. He has three promotions with that. I rate him highly. He isn’t going to move away from something he knows works, especially at this level.

But it’s clear we don’t have the players for his style. Barks is looking terrible at LWB. NML looks a shadow of the exciting wide forward of the first few games. I can see Hourihane struggling to get back in. McGoldrick too.

To get promoted, something must give. Warne will not get us promoted with this current side.

Changes will have to be made in January and next summer. I just hope DC is patient and smart enough to realize this and gives Warne the time to build a side who can play his system.

Oh mr warne, you’ll see we’re torn

(and some are getting quite forlorn)

Smith, Hourihane and Bird have class

and Didzy, he just loves to pass

So get the best out of our roster,

don't come in like some imposter

hoofing balls north, east, south, west

let’s see our squad play at its best

The fans deserve a fine display

of skills at pride park - and away

    they’re honest and deserving folk

please please don’t make us play like Stoke

So here’s the rub:  a manager should

work out what each player could

deliver, if he’s at his best

... then make it happen. That’s the test
