This is 'usually' the pint I have in the Brunswick pre match, so maybe I could simulate the build up to the game on Saturday in my living room. Just need to source some cheese rolls and pork pie now.

All you dirty buggers that like drinking this real ale stuff - Don't know if your aware of this
National supermarket chain Aldi is selling a Derby company's beer to stop it going to waste.
The German retailer has joined forces with 13 British brewing companies to sell alcohol that would normally have gone directly to pubs.
Among those in the scheme is Derby Brewing, which is supplying its "Business as Usual" beer to the supermarket.
The malt beer, which has won regional awards, went on sale in Aldi stores on Thursday, January 28, and is available at £1.49 for a 500ml bottle.
Other brews going on sale in Aldi include golden ales, IPAs and bitters, sourced from local breweries around the UK.
Paul Harris, managing director at Derby Brewing, said it was great to be able to find a use for the beer in a year that his seen its main sources of income taken away by lockdowns and the Covid pandemic.
"It's been a really difficult year for us," he said. "As brewers, we take pride in our beer and our craft.
"It would have been terrible to see it go to waste so it's a massive boost for us that Aldi is taking on our excess stock and supplying our award-winning beer to punters across the UK.

Thinking back to our third division days in the mid 80s, we were expected to come straight back up and finished 7th. Luckily we had a top manager who got us up the next year, but not sure if Arthur would have survived that first disappointing season in modern times.

BBC weather forecasts where they show the temperatures for the next five days in Glasgow, London, Cardiff and Belfast and about half the UKs population don't live within 200 miles of these places. Not sure why it bothers me so much, but it does!

I've held that opinion for many years in that we have never had a reset after the year that cannot be mentioned but I think it is too late now.  We've been on a steady decline for years and there was always something to provide a rosy view.  Bit like hitting 125 in golf but sinking a 20 footer on the last, guess which shot you remember?  I think is it a bit romantic to think of an heroic relegation followed by walking the league and putting everybody to sword in the lower division on a triumphal return that is the springboard to back to back promotions.  Bet that's what Sunderland thought though.

Still remember that Paterson goal before the fog came down. Absolute screamer.

The Burnley fans never stopped singing that night including all the way through half-time and after the game was called off.

Think I'm correct in saying you don't actually see the murderer in any of the episodes which is unusual.

The Investigation - thanks to those who suggested it.
Intriguing, slow burn drama. Lead detective is so frustrating in how subdued everything he says/does, but it is engrossing at the same time. Different perspective to most shows where its all about the cop /lawyer v genius murderer. All  about good old-fashioned, very mundane detective work. Always adds a bit when its based on a true story. A solid watch.
If you liked it - as I have suggested before - 'Murder on Middle Beach' may be for you.. whilst its a  documentary it does have a similar way of looking at murder.

Just watched The Investigation on BBC I Player. Latest Scandi thriller based on the true story of the 'Submarine murder' in 2017. Highly recommended and fascinating on how the evidence for the prosecution was put together. This included using sniffer dogs to detect a body under water.

I watched the first 2 episodes on BBC2 and was so enthralled decided not to wait until next weeks' double and downloaded it from Catchup. So atmospheric and the actor who plays the lead cop is superb.

Codswallop, that's like saying we should be OK being called 'Cricket'.
County is not a name our fans call our club, it has no frame of reference with our team and hasn't in the 50+ years I've been following them. I can't think of a single time when a fan, song, manager or player has referred to the team as 'County'. The only time it is used is by journalists or (normally teenage) YouTubers who know nothing about us except that we have a two word title. So it riles me up not because of the word but because whoever uses it hasn't taken more than a few cursory moments to understand anything about us as a club.
