Well it was exciting at least.

The red bulls are on Latifi this evening....

Much as I wanted Lewis to win, max is a brilliant driver and I won't get pissy about him being champion. Still don't like that Horner gets to be happy.

Sorry RadioactiveWaste totally disagree with you there mate hate him and everyone associated with Red Bull. Feel as sick now as when Zamora scored for QPR in play-off-final after we dominated the game. Lewis did exactly the same today and would have been world champion if it wasn't for that TOOL at Williams. If I was Toto I would take Merc engine of them as punishment. It shows what a arrogant, nasty person Verstappen is that he didn't have the courtesy to credit Hamilton but then again should I be surprised. It's all about him him him. Sorry rant over.

  2. Does anyone feel nervous ahead of today's race? Or are you not bothered and just enjoy the event? I feel nervous because I want Lewis to win so much, as much as I can admire the talent of Verstappen I can't stand him and everything to do with Red Bull, I've even started to dislike Perez and always liked him before.

    Verstappen is pole, Hamilton second.

Lando Norris takes 3rd - fantastic from him.

Perez, Sainz, Bottas (deciding to have sucky weekend I see), Leclerc, Tsunoda (good effort), Ocon, Danny Ric.

All set up for the climax to the best season in years.

Record breaking 8th title for Lewis, or a first (and defeated mecedes in the turbo hybrid era) title for Max. Can't wait. It's live on Channel 4 if you don't have Sky. 1PM tomorrow for the race start.

Anyone take a bet on a Suzuka '90 first corner? "you no longer go for a gap, you're no longer a racing driver"

RadioactiveWaste- Verstappen is Senna and Hamilton is Prost the more cautious of the 2. You could guarantee that Verstappen would do that why Lewis wouldn't it's not his style.

    Latest on Karen Horner:

It's not fair because Karun Chandock made the track favour mercedes on purpose to make sure Max didn't win the title because the entire world is against him/Max.

I know it's mostly an act he's putting on for the media, but seriously, he can't really be believing the half of it can he........

A first rate tool how can you have respect for the man?

  5. I'm not the biggest cricket fan so my knowledge of the game isn't great but even I can see over this year in most test's England's top order batsmen aren't good enough. Once Root and Mawlan went no one made a decent score. To me the most disappointing thing is Australia aren't a great team either but once again it will be a whitewash to the Aussies.

Just realized I fat fingered a bit of the first paragraph, but I think you got what I meant.

I just hope it's a good grand Prix. I'm always reluctant to read too much into times in practice, I think qualifying will be close. And whichever way you'd like it to go, both Lewis and Max are breathtaking skilled drivers bringing something at an elite level.

Much as I've always loved Lewis since I saw him in gp2 in 2006, I can understand wanting someone to be able to say they heat LH/Merc in the current era (would've been nice if that were McLaren or Ferrari)

I'd love it if red bull just bungle a strategy call, no issues, no safety car, just Karen Horner calls it wrong and has to sulk about it until next year.

    Yes me to.

Whichever one does win it, it will be well deserved, it's been a fantastic season. Both have had some amazing drives, at parts the red bull has been faster, at parts the metake on Max's driving being rcedes faster, each of them has scrapped tooth and nail when they didn't have the faster car.

I still find it hard to like Red Bull and Karen Horner, and I have my take on Max's driving being a bit "problematic" (I don't think he's dirty or cynical particually, i think he just doesn't have any concept of playing the game or picking his battles and how racing works, he'll just go until there's a crash or a penalty and even then the penalty was wrong and the other guy should've got out of my way - it's a mentality thing with him)

RadioactiveWaste a fantastic post from you well said my friend. Let's hope it's a fair race without incident and controversies.

Excellent.  Now I don't have to watch it on my ipad...

Enjoy my friend I will stick with Sky's coverage. Hopefully Lewis can win his 8th drivers championship. If he doesn't and Verstappen wins the championship fair and square on Sunday's race I will be the first to congratulate him even though I do not like him, Horner or Red Bull.

  9. Jesus that race was like Wacky Races, Verstappen is a fantastic driver but he is a Schumacher clone he is so dirty it's a wonder he as not killed someone with his driving. The way he brake tested Lewis was a disgrace to the sport.

That's a damn scary track - incredibly quick with blind corners and not many obvious overtaking places (depending on the impact od DRS). It'll be pretty intense for the drivers given the amount of concentration required just to avoid the walls - I'll be amazed if there aren't some major crashes and numerous hold ups.....

As much as I hate to say it think it will be a Hamilton/Verstappen 1-2 again, Bottas is useless as a wingman so Verstappen will soon be passed him. Really hope I'm wrong. Need Lewis to win though to take it to final race.

I went to the match. MM was really good. Stand out performance. But hats off to my third team (after Derby and Orient) for a great performance and had two of the goals due to a dire showing by the Chelsea goalie.

So great to seeing Mason doing so well a fantastic player and a nice bloke but I have to admit I hate Chelsea with a passion. They were never a big club until Abramovich arrived with his big bucks. Just a pity Mason didn't play for someone else.

where did you sit / stand for those games ? did they feel different to the league games, in the first european run we had gone from playing carlisle and bury in division two to becoming Englands representatives against Benfica and Juventus in four seasons, a different class of opposition, to go through winning the second division, then the first division and tehn getting to the semi fianl of teh european cup must have been amazing to be caught up in that whirl wind of success !!

I sat in The Ley Stand with my neighbour who got me into watching Derby because I was only 11 in 1972/73 season, it was only as I got older 16 that I stood on The Pop Side.

  13. Couldn't agree more RadioactiveWaste let's hope Lewis can keep up the battle and win again to take it to the last race. I see Jealous Fernando Alonso complaining about Lewis and the engine in his car something about he should be at the back of the grid, god the guy is so bitter from there days as team mates at McLaren. And the SKY commentary team are just as bad towards Lewis.

  14. I cannot believe the audacity of Gibson the season we went to play off final and lost to Villa we had the following (A) Superior Team who played good football compared to there HOOF ball tactics. (B) A better manager in Lampard compared to Pulis and (C) Better players. So I can't see where Gibson is coming from when he says we stopped them getting into the play-off's illegally the man is pathetic.

Just seen a tweet that Mercedes are requesting a review of Verstapen running Hamilton off the track "on the basis of new evidence unavailable to the Stewards at the time of their decision" - guess the on-board camera footage from Max's car has finally come to light.....

The FIA won't do anything about it.

It's pretty clear the part just moved or failed slightly. It's not like some super clever trying to get around the regulations thing. It's not hard to picture an "instruction to fix the part" if he'd qualified P3.

Mercedes have had a top speed advantage over red bull all year and have now found a set up that's competetive through the corners. Were Merc supposed to just go "oh well, we give up, red bull is faster"

I think it's red bull racing more than it's Max that are annoying - i remember what an utter bamford Vettel was at red bull and how he bacame a whole lot more likeable once he left, there's deffo something about how Horner and Marco go about things that's pertty vulgar.

Yes I have to agree with you there 2 arrogant tools. No other team principal as bad as Horner so far up his backside.

Hamilton starts at the back after being disqualified from yesterday's qualifying.

Unless Bottas is in the mood to pull a Nelson piquet jr (or Bottas hungaroring) type move I fear championship is over.

RadioactiveWaste I've come to the conclusion that F1 this season as been corrupted by Jean Todt and Stefano Domenicali they have changed the rules to make Red Bull quicker but make Mercedes weaker this season and why is it that Verstappen gets a fine but no grid penalty yet Lewis is disqualified? I'm sorry I want to see clean competitive racing but it's not happening. I feel angry and disgusted and I'm finished with this season now.

But on the flip side he does get to look at her in the shower every morning.  I mean, daaaaaaaaamn...

love you kiss GIF by Walkers Crisps

Hate Horner and his side kick Dietrich Mateschitz.

  19. Just my opinion but I think Gerrard should have stayed at Rangers for a couple of more seasons and gained  more experience for the Liverpool job when it becomes available, I think going to Villa now will be a hard job because they are a middle of the Premier League team who will never challenge the top 6.
