I'll be honest. I don't see his ability to take over a 3rd tier English football club as being a major barrier to him running high profile international golf tournaments for the best players in the world. The money involved might be significant but I suspect that we are really don't create so much as a ripple in the world which he inhabits.

I agree. I really don't expect this to be easy at all. I think a slowish start and gathering a bit of momentum as we go along, possibly with further reinforcements in Jan. I hope they can do well (and I believe that we can with some canny additions) but I don't expect promotion. I don't rule it out because I haven't seen what sort of team we'll put out and we will likely see more departures so need to recruit smartly.
After the last year's traumas I really don't see it as negative to not expect promotion and IMHO it is important not to go loading a huge weight of expectation on the lads. I just want to see us taking teams on with a level playing field without crippling points deductions, embargoes and threats of more hanging over us. Top half perhaps and anything else is a bonus and will be very welcome. Such positivity this year, lets not have a return of grumblers because we're not blowing everyone away and a small section expect this to be a walk in the park.
I can't wait to get stuck in and visit some unfamiliar grounds ?

On the contrary, I think that sounds relatively positive.

I think this is the aspect that most rankles with Derby fans, and fuels the conspiracy theories about the EFL running scared of Steve Gibson and therefore doing a deal to pursue DCFC to the maximum possible in order to avoid Gibson suing them. Their pronouncements have often been disingenuously timed and grudging, or even bitter, in their tone. When you factor in how Derby were robbed by the FFP cheating of both Leicester and QPR in 2013/2014 (which you've covered very equitably in the past) but received zero compensation, anyone who doesn't understand why many fans feel DCFC have been punished several times over isn't capable of critical thinking.

We can only hope that stuff is progressing. The noises last week from all parties were all very positive and stuff like the pitch getting some TLC and Buchanan contract extension hopefully hints at some progress. For the moment I'm going with the idea that the latest stated date is more realistic than the other constantly broken ones and that it will go down to the wire but actually get done. Lets be honest, what else can we do than just keep fingers crossed. Hopefully the twitter idiots are leaving CK alone for now.

Made me smile this. Wish I could paste it on their board. 'In this world, be More Blackpool' feels like that should be on a T-shirt as a little joke/acknowledgement for those in the know?. Might also work for their tourist board !
Agree with other comments saying that I wouldn't wish what we've been through on anyone else. Obviously based on the attitudes of some teams fans I would enjoy watching them squirm in their boiling vat of hypocrisy for a bit with their sudden need for other clubs/EFL to understand that its not Forest/BristolCIty/Leeds fans fault that they are in this predicament.

Well it might be the glue on the desk next to me having an effect but perhaps it is nothing more sinister than cashflow. CK knows that he needs to help rebuild the squad and the academy after it has been shredded by the last couple of years and if he throws 23million at the ground too then it will impact on what is an urgent rebuild without selling off some hard won assets. Someone says OK, well if the stadium is a problem then we'll buy it and you can rent it for the following very reasonable rate on the grounds that we didn't really pay that much for it in the grand scheme of things.
Someone will say "See he's got no money" but 1) That's no necessarily true and 2) Surely doing this more cautiously is what we want. Lets pay competitive wages and reasonable fees but surely nobody wants to see big borrowing if it isn't a cash gift of to be written off as other clubs are doing.
Might be total nonsense of course but lets be honest, we are all speculating anyway !
