The EFL will wait to see what plays out between Boro, Wycombe and Derby and yes they will be loving it.

Immediately after a settlement is reached the EFL will create new rules stopping clubs from charging each other, IE: us charging QPR and Villa.

As for liquidation. As soon as the name Gadsby came up it was enough for me to realise we won't be liquidated. Gadsby isn't the best option, but he is the insurance option. He won't allow the club to go under, him and other rich fans he will know will chuck the bare minimum in to keep the club afloat before selling us on eventually. Can't grumble at that really.

    Sigh.

  2. To be fair to Matt Slater (no relation) - he's only ever reported facts. He is one of the more serious and seasoned journalists at The Athletic and certainly doesn't have an agenda. He was threatened with legal action by Morris, I believe.

He annoys me by stating facts and reporting the truth about our club, which isn't a tasty medicine to swallow.

Also, anyone paying full price for The Athletic is daft. You can get it for free with EE, they also often do a £1 a month deal. When anyone signs up to these, full price changes are always clearly indicated, best to just pay for the deal and then cancel the renewal.

Derby - Hey, here's our accounts. By the way, we used an alternate method involving amortisation.

EFL - Hmmmmmm. It's unusual, but fine, we'll sign off on them.

    *Years Later*

EFL - Lol, changed our mind, now they aren't ok.

Derby - We've sold our stadium and will add the profit to our accounts.

EFL - We don't like that, but it's not against the rules. We disagree with the valuation of the stadium however.

Derby - OK. Here's a valuation from an independent company who provide a similar figure.

EFL - Nope, we don't agree with the professionals, we'll begin disciplinary action.

Independent panel - Derby didn't do anything wrong.

EFL - Meh, what do you guys know. We will appeal with a new independent panel.

New independent panel - We believe a 100k fine is appropriate for Derby's wrongdoing.

EFL - Nah, we don't like that, let's appeal. Oh and let's also try and relegate them after the season is finished.

Derby - Hey, we've renewed Jack Marriott's contract.

    EFL - OK.

    *6 months later*

EFL - Changed our mind. Marriott is free to leave. And no, you can't sign anyone to replace him, Waghorn, or any of the other players who left.

    *Months later*

Derby - Please, we don't have enough senior players to even field a team, just let us sign some.

EFL - *Sigh* Fine, but only 4 or 5. And no more than 4.5k a week! And if you re-sign players like Davies or Wisdom they will take up 1 of those spots.

Derby - Hey we're having some injury problems and would like to use a couple of young lads, but they'll then count as senior players. Can you be a little lenient with this?

    EFL - Lol no.

I'm really relieved the EFL are trying to help us and make us work. It's really nice to know they have our back.

    POST OF THE YEAR.

@TheSlate why are you giving me angry reactions to my posts?

I am just reporting facts and information from Rams Trust. I have joined them as I feel more people need to get involved to help our club, now and in future.

If you've got a problem with that, say what it is.

Do we have DMs on here?

Just seen that Faye Nixon was one of the redundancies. She was head of marketing, but also often ran the fan's forum events.

That's such a shame - Faye is both lovely and super-competent. Hope that she gets something sorted soon, but I suspect that she won't be unemployed for long.

    Good luck Faye.

Think she actually just got a new job

  6. It's hard to say much on here without getting towards defamation. There's a huge irony that MM tried to remove Sam Rush on the basis of a 'lack of fiduciary duty'.

    By definition:

    Quote

A fiduciary duty is a commitment to act in the best interests of another person or entity. Broadly speaking, a fiduciary duty is a duty of loyalty and a duty of care. That is, the fiduciary must act only in the best interests of a client or beneficiary. And, the fiduciary must act diligently in those interests.

    also:

    Quote

In November 2014 he was named FC Business Championship chief executive of the year. In October 2015, he signed a new five-year contract at Derby. Chairman Mel Morris stated: “Rush is a big reason for the turnaround in the football club and a main for reason for me having joined the club”.

    and:

    Quote

During his time at the club Derby reached the play-offs final in 2014 and the play-off semi-finals in 2016, and he was described by manager Steve McClaren as “the glue that holds the club together”.

Don't forget that it was Sam Rush who appointed Steve McClaren and could arguably be stated as the catalyst for our recent successes - 2014...

If there's one thing that turns my stomach, it's the phrase "League of Gentleman". We were promoted in 2007 largely because of one man, working with modest funding.

Where's Mel's fiduciary duty? Did he think that's what he was doing sticking the club in Admin?
