Fifa 17 was the last football game I played. I might buy Last of Us remaster for cheap on PS4 instead, is that any good?

Just until PES goes down in price

Last of Us is free this month on PS+ so you may as well just get that.

PS have also updated their PS Now to be more like Game Pass on xbox, they've put all sorts like Uncharted and God of War on there as a result - and reduced the price.

    Morning all,

I know there have been plenty in the thread, but does anyone have any questions about RamsTV?

How we do what we do/why we do what we do/who makes decisions on running orders & content/how I prepare for a commentary etc etc.

We won't be able to answer everything, but I hope as the season goes on we will be able to answer a few!

    Cheers!

Need more lighthearted stuff including the players, that's how we get to know them more, rather than Colin's interviews where he doesn't actually pose a question. The videos last year (not done by RamsTV) with Waghorn, Nugent etc were brilliant and far more insightful into the personality of our squad than most other things we get to see.

Picked my team again this year and was automatically placed in there, the weird thing is I had to create a new account using a different email address, so can't have been my account from last year which it wouldn't let me login. No idea what's going on but I'm in.

Looking at the league standings, it doesn't say you're in. Unless it doesn't update very quickly.

Pre season was free last year, wasn't it?

Just an observation, not a criticism, in fact I don't think Derby make us pay for enough of the content tbh.

It was free a couple of years ago, not last year. But that was "tech test" almost, just to see how it worked.

  5. Happy about it. No longer can Fifa fan boys bury their heads thinking it’s a better game than PES because it’s got all the badges. Gameplay is so much better on PES right now and EA’s financial muscle killing them.

Why would Apple allow Facebook to use your phone microphones without permission to feed you ads? Makes no sense, Apple and Facebook are not friends, far from it.

If anything Apple are introducing more and more privacy features to block companies such as Facebook and Google from tracking you.

Android phones I could perhaps understand the conspiracy theory more as Google show ads, they have good reasons why they would be interested in what your interests are.

Still not sure I buy it though, would be suicide for them had it come out, which it would through disgruntled employees over the years.

I think the most likely scenario is companies ignoring your privacy settings through loopholes in their terms and conditions which nobody reads through the pages and pages of.

Happens on a weekly basis. I've had adverts for Vietnam holidays after chatting with someone about their backpacking plans in person, adverts for apple juice after ordering some at a cafe... and that's just two off the top of my head. Can get into who's allowing what and who's at fault or whatever you want, but both times it was that very same day after never even using my phone for either purpose.

Well I don't have an Alexa - and I have the Google personalised ads stuff turned off. My point is that I have never searched or interacted online with anything to do with IVF - hence my question about how your ads worked. If it's just pure coincidence and I get served up any old random stuff then that's OK

Although I just searched and found this

    https://www.vice.com/en_uk/article/wjbzzy/your-phone-is-listening-and-its-not-paranoia

Phones definitely do listen to you, had it multiple times, particularly with Facebook ads.

Been reports of leaving your phone in front of foreign speaking videos will eventually start showing you foreign adverts.

I already hate the way our media are framing this. "Nantes Demand Sala Fee". Why is this even a headline or a story? Did people seriously believe that Nantes would just waive the fee out of respect? "Cardiff stall on Sala payment" would be far more accurate.

'Stall' probably not the best choice of word in this situation.

Now its on sale, my friends and I will probably jump in. Not played it before.

But, reports from folks I know who have say its fun while its all new - but it becomes pretty tedious after a while. 3-4 weeks is what you're looking at. They described anyone who plays it for more than a month as "touched". Which is why we waited til it was on sale.

No idea what the solo experience is like, I've never met anyone who's played it solo.

Played it a bit when it first came out as it was on Game Pass (which, you may aswell get for like £1 free trial and play this rather than buy it).

Lovely art style, a bit of fun to be had when playing in a group. Awful solo experience, as it's very much "make your own fun". Not much fun to be had beyond a few sessions, to be honest.

Just to say how much I have enjoyed the coverage of the under 23s and under 18s games this week with Owen Bradley and Marc Edworthy commentating.

It's a good balance with both Owen and Marc concentrating on the game.

(Although I did hear someone having a little pop at Zak Brunt tonight!)

I agree, although I do wish Edworthy could pronounce the 'l' in the word 'goal'.

  11. The problem is full AAA releases carving up games, withholding content, inbalancing the game just to get money from microtransactions. EA are the biggest scumbags of the lot. Absolutely destroying that Star Wars game to the point where they had to patch the progression system once they disabled the microtransactions after the huge backlash - just proving the point that they were completely game altering to a fault. Yet they don't care, because they still make billions because they invented ultimate team game modes on every sports franchise they own the monopoly on.

Other games have had microtransactions bolted onto the game after the fact due to greedy producers, again, ruining the entire game. Biggest example of this would be the newest Deus Ex, which Square Enix ruined by doing this. But they're not the only ones.

If you pay for a full price game, you should get the full game. This is just the latest iteration of the games industry finding another way to get all of the money, rather than just a boat load of it. They have tried before with online passes required to try and kill the preowned market, massive pre-order bonus culture to entice presales to pay for the game before it's even made and alike.

I don't have any issue with free games, like League of Legends, or cheap games like Rocket League making their money through skins and other cosmetics - which have no effect on the balance of the game. Where Rocket League and League of Legends does it right, is that there's a very limited number of items you can possibly get in any given Rocket League box, of which you can trade afterwards anyway, and League of Legends lets you buy the actual item you want. Even then, it's not ideal, but at least these games don't charge you £45 to play it to begin with, before letting you know you've only got a small portion of the game, and you have to grind an ungodly amount of time to do the cool stuff with shelling out yet more money.

The Asian market has at least taken the step of making games disclose the odds on each item in loot boxes, it's a small step, but it's showing how it is being now thought of as gambling.

Games like Overwatch are always given an easy ride on this, but they shouldn't be. Mainly because it's Activision, and they tried to patent a matchmaking system which would literally put people without any DLC items against people with them, to make them want to buy them. They have loot boxes with a huge number of items in them, with such tiny odds, and it very much preys on the haves and have nots, and specifically a younger audience.

Download the option files and you have a fully licenced Pes anyway.

Which is better than fifa. Well, offline gameplay anyway.

and it's not even close this year.

Just a shame we can't do that on xbox - but it's still better to play, and that's more important for me.

The perception of security maybe? Although at the rate EA kills off studios I wouldn't be so sure. I was particularly surprised by Respawn as they are guys that worked on Call of Duty at Activision and ended up leaving, I wouldn't have thought they would be so keen to put themselves back under the control of one of the big boys.

Money talks I guess, the move will have made the decision makers very rich I would imagine.

Titanfall was being published by EA anyway, so clinging onto hope nothing changes.

  14. EA removed the button for a refund off their website to make you call too.

God they're shitty - no wonder they won worst company in the US twice in a row.

But hey, you all still bought FIFA.
