Shadowplay reacted to Day in Steve Gibson trying to liquidate Derby
It's just reached the point of pure embarrassment, from Boro, Wycombe and the EFL.
All those rival fans that are finding joy in all this when they could easily be next, wake up.
The game is littered with utter BS, we tried to find a different way with amortisation to compete with those awarded millions for failure, which the EFL retrospectively on Gibson's request found us guilty.
    Naughty Derby, grow up.
Rules have been retrospectively added to cover the EFL arses. Google enhanced embargo, see what comes up, Derby County, there was never a enhanced embargo before all this, it's something you came up with as Mel Morris publicly challenged you.
Meanwhile we have state owned clubs when sponsorships for official hotels, soaps and rubber ducks for 10x what they could buy this club for in the Premier League.
Do you not even realise how anti competitive the league that's responsible for your revenue is, do you not realise that the very existence of the Championship relies on multi millionaires prepared to be losing upwards of half a million a month, it's not sustainable even by your own rules.
Derby County reject a bid for their player which could be derisory, yet the EFL are on our case, are we in the position now where we have to sell Jason Knight for a fiver to keep Rick Parry happy, if that's the case then just end the game now.
We lost Kaide Gordon to Liverpool for a bag of monster munch and Freddo over that deal you agreed with the PL, how is that looking after your member clubs when they have to gift wrap the young stars that have been educated both on an off the field to satisfy the greed of the top 6 in this country.
Explain the benefit of that deal to your member clubs, please explain as from the fans that love the game, all we see is our clubs being screwed over.
Out of 2 play off finals which we were beaten, we were beaten by clubs that would have failed EFL FFP, we took it on the chin yet here we are, one club using bookies odds to build a case and another that didn't even earn promotion on merit jeopardising the existence of this club.
Meanwhile the MSM are far more interested in the likes of Man United and Newcastle to even realise what is going on outside the gold pit. The game is dying whilst the "journalists" are far more interested in finding the next tweet to create a clickbait article than actually do their jobs.
Nobody wants to touch it, why? We have a Serbian tennis player refused entry to a country and tournament, everyone, every journalist in sport is weighing in as we're sat here in limbo over let's not forget, retrospective punishment.
The EFL signed off our accounts that we have now been punished for, let that sink in.
I'm sick of it, sick of the rival fans looking to take the piss without understanding the situation, sick of the incompetent governing bodies, sick of Gibson and that Wycombe numpty.
We've rolled over, accepted the retrospective punishment, saved the EFL embarrassment of explaining themselves in court, yet the EFL are too gutless to tell the curly haired one to shut up as they are in fear of landing themselves in court over the utter shambolic way they have ran this league.
Grow some balls Rick, accept some responsibility over how the investigations were handled and do the right thing, tell Gibson to F off, tell Wycombe to F off and learn from your mistakes.

Just wanted to say this, I take no enjoyment from clubs failing P&S rules, football is broken, Covid is hammering the final nail in the coffin.
I'm sure the vast majority of Bristol City fans are decent football fans that don't deserve to see their club punished.
However, when one fan takes his obsession with our situation to a level that's beyond normal behaviour, it's hard not to have a smile on your face when reading the clubs statement.
Bristol City the club, the staff, players, fans, no ill feeling, wish you all the best and hope you can sort the financial situation out without punishment.
Mr Poppadom, I hope they throw not just the book at you but the library, you had this coming you muppet.

Shadowplay reacted to Comrade 86 in Should Rooney be doing better under the current circumstances?
So let me get this straight; we're being asked to assess an assumed 22 point haul with the same squad, but without any real world real context, ie the small matter of embargos, points deductions and all the other restrictions and inhibitors? Question: What's the point in that? I mean why not simply assess Rooney using material facts rather than make some poo up? Hardly an objective approach is it?
As for his performance, only the top three have better defensive records. I know our narratives wildly differ and this despite me not being Rooney's biggest fan, but surely that's not only pretty remarkable, but also reflects very positively on Rooney and the coaches? I don't think glibly alluding to our defensive output as 'one of the better records' is anything other than an obvious example of damning with feint praise. Let's have it right. Last season we seemed to concede every time opponents launched the ball into our box, so unless I'm mistaken, the difference is night and day.
As for our goalscoring record, yep, it's poor, but given CKR has been injured all season and we have no other target man, might this at least partially explain why we are so easy to defend against, or should we be blaming Rooney for players getting injured (Knight aside) and the club's inability to find a proven goalscorer who was BOTH a free agent AND prepared to play for £4.5k a week?
I dare say if we had a Mitrovic, a Brereton or a Solanke in our team (or even half of one of their output) allied to our strong defensive unit, there'd be rather less appetite for artificial polls whose only purpose seems to be to provide a noisy minority with yet another opportunity to publicly vent their spleens.
Pure Poundland clickbait masquerading as debate, I'm afraid, and wholly unworthy of any purported professional content provider.

Just read (yet another pessimistic) Matt Slater article in the Athletic. From his sources and I do think he’s genuine, the view from outside Derby within football, and from agents, insolvency experts, administrator, lawyers, brokers - most people he has spoken to think liquidation is a distinct possibility as the debts are just too high. He has taken this view from the start and to be honest, the things he cited in his latest article to justify his argument - the companies house statement of affairs -for the most part weren’t new news and don’t make our position more precarious.
But while I don’t share his pessimism, his article highlights the situation. We’re relying on someone seriously wealthy who potentially is prepared to pay over the odds because they can see long term potential and are prepared to risk losing money to fulfill an ambition of owning a football club.

We have posters saying they are not comfortable about how close Kirchner is to Rooney and his people and concerned that Rooney may have brought them in thus making him almost bulletproof in the job. We have people concerned at Rush/Appleby being involved again (even though they won’t - their in the game of bringing bidders to the table they won’t be around post acquisition). Quite simply we don’t have a bloody choice. There’s 4 at the moment who is to say the other 3 won’t walk away, or god forbid all 4. Quite simply we don’t have a bloody choice who we get, we should accept whoever we get from these 4 credible bidders with open arms because it will mean the club is saved whatever happens. I think I’ve been swept up by the confidence of the administrators, this remains a tricky situation.
On a more positive note, in the comments on Matt Slater’s article Matt also reveals he’s recently spoken to an insolvency expert who thinks the administrator might have a convincing argument to persuade HMRC to accept 25p in the pound (the minimum EFL requirement) on the basis that with football creditors needing to be paid, if the company (DCFCs 6 companies or whatever) don’t have the assets to settle the debt HMRC can’t compel a new owner to settle it. He’s the only person to argue this though. Additionally his sources think Wycombe and Boro don’t have much of a case against us, they’d be better off going after the EFL for not enforcing their rules properly. Therefore their claims are more of an annoyance rather than a legitimate concern threatening a deal.
We wait and see. Im an optimist and therefore remain hopeful but we should be grateful for whoever takes a punt on us because we’re not in a position to pick and choose.

I would imagine Rooney has one of the safest jobs in the Championship right now under the circumstances.
Also heard Rooney's name being sang, far louder than the odd boo's.
Very much doubt patience is waning on a significant scale.

Just stumbled across the whole game on YouTube, not sure how many else have found it on there but it was a great watch. I only found clicked on it as it was the game played closest to the day I was born.
What struck me while watching it were the comments from the late, great Brian Clough. During pre-match he talks about how being at Derby were the happiest days of his managerial career, and after the game he talked about sitting with the Spurs fans and that they had enjoyed a great game of football "despite the fact that I'm a Derby man" -- all said why manager of Forest..! Also quite topical as Maxwell had at the time turned down a bid of £3 million for us (only about £6.5 mil today).
I'm sure a few have seen this, but now the nights are drawing in and Strictly's back on the box it's a good getaway game.
