I sincerely hope it's a very Happy New Year - well, for everyone on the planet.
It's been an awful couple of years through the pandemic. The threat of war between Russia and Ukraine is scary. As though all of that isn't bad enough, climate change will have the biggest ever impact on humanity.
That all said, what keeps us all going is our shared love of football and, in particular, of Derby County. Football, sport, entertainment gives us a release from the stresses of our everyday lives. And yet, currently, supporting the Rams only seems to add to the stress.
Let's hope we get a new owner soon, put administration and points deductions behind us, and start building an entertaining and successful football club once again.
Finally, I just want to thank the Forum Admins for providing this platform. Thank you to all posters for your contributions - whether you are optimistic or pessimistic about the future - or no matter how you feel about Tom Lawrence - I have enjoyed reading your posts. Thank you for keeping the club close to me.
Very best wishes to you, your families and your friends.

The admins probably got the gig because of their good past rep for dealing with other similar situations. They won’t want one of their gigs (us) to fail as they may not get similar work again.
Pretty sure they will be desperate for a none liquidation outcome. They will have some pretty tricky questions to answer if it is liquidation as they will have run up the £2m+ bill to run the club when it could have been liquidated in October.

There are obviously problems that the administrators are having difficulty overcoming, their role is to get the best possible result for creditors not to pamper to prospective new owners. I would say committing over £60M over the next 2 years is not much when you consider the debt we have. If the above is genuine he sounds more like a petulant child,it is not another fake deadline, they have never said that was guaranteed, they have always said,we expect, we hope. Things are obviously more complicated than anticipated and may be having problems coming to an agreement with creditors.

He’s not pulling out he’s been led to believe he won’t win. So the admins have a better offer which is positive news

Since they got their feet under the table, it's clear the administrators have discovered just what a pile of ? Morris has left them with - no wonder things are less positive now than when they first arrived.
BUT they still say there are 3 interested parties(even if one of them is throwing a public (and rather childish) paddy because he's nor been chosen yet) so the process continues until they all walk away or one of them gets to take over - nothing anyone on here can do to help that along so little point in giving up hope at this point....Both Gadsby and Appleby know the club, the fans and the potential, so if they've managed to get the necessary financial backing in place there's still a good chance of a positive outcome......

Kirchner may have offered a bid that could total £60m, but, without seeing the text, caveats, limitations and assumptions on that deal it's impossible to say of it's better than any other offer.
The 9th December "fake deadline" comments basically mean they let others submit a bid after - not ideal, but an understandable move from the administrators.
The administrators duty is to the creditors - and that is how they are duty bound to assess the bids.
The administrators have stated the bids are significantly different in form/structure so evaluation is not straightforward.
Lack of engagement, well, if it's in a phase of "we are evaluating rival bids" you wouldn't expect a lot of engagement during that part of the process as the evaluation has to maintain integrity.
It's possible CK knows his deal was built on the minimum to creditors he thought he could offer and get the deal done but a rival bid might offer creditors more. He's preparing the ground for "I really tried, but, deal's off" after being so public.

People will automatically take Kirchner’s side here, but this seems (with a little help from another one of them supporter group guys ?) that something isn’t quite right with his bid or that something isn’t plausible within it. Let’s face it, it’s a bit ‘it’s not me, it’s them’ to try and pull a bit of favour
It would make sense if the admins are giving time for Appleby/Gadsby to get their bid sorted as they would be the more ideal front runner with a more long term plan of getting the club better run financially.

There may well be a good reason but the administrators are not under any obligation to disclose that information to the fans.

I can just imagine all the doctors and nurses saying, 'well I signed up for this job knowing I 'd need a flu jab and hep B and tetanus and MMR, but I never knew they'd add another one. I want my Uni money back I'm not having that!'
I wonder if anybody ever decides to be a doctor and nurse, but then thinks they'd better check what vaccines they'll need first and then changes their mind.

That is of course baalocks. They do work but the efficaciousness wanes over time. If that was a joke it's not funny but is typiical of the mis-information being spread as facts.

Fair point Bobbster, in that no one can say for sure that QPR cost us promotion by their overspend......just as no one can say for sure that DCFC cost Boro promotion or Wycombe relegation by our much smaller overspend.....The difference is that DCFC are being sued and QPR were not, despite us argueably having a stronger case. What Galls is that we have been publicly lambasted far more than any other Club, denied Covid loans and now being sued for far more than the fine you actually paid and yet not a single Club, even previous transgressors like QPR have offered the slightest support. In fact what did your striker do at Pride Park a few weeks ago?

FlyBritishMidland reacted to IslandExile in Wayne Rooney
Do I think Rooney is a tactical genius?
No, but he's learning and has improved over last year.
Do I think he's getting the best out of the players available?
Mostly yes. Sibley and Jozwiak are possible exceptions but there may be other reasons for that. All players appear very motivated despite the club's position.
Has Rooney had long enough to prove his credentials?
It's not the time so much as the circumstances. These are exceptional times and it's nigh on impossible to judge.
Could another manager do better with the club in its current plight?
Maybe. We will never know. Without a goalscorer and with a 21 point deduction, it's hard to see anyone doing "well enough" (also note what's happened to many people's oft touted candidates: Hughton, Cook and Jokanovic).
So what's so good about Rooney?
The way he has conducted himself throughout this whole sorry process. By all accounts his approach to the players and staff has been empathetic, considerate and thoughtful. He has surprised me with - for the want of a better word - his "class". He thoroughly deserves our support.
Let's judge his football management when (if) the club is ever stabilized. Once he has truly been able to assemble his squad and started playing his preferred tactics rather than those dictated to him by squad availability and the quest for survival.
Come on Derby. Come on Rooney ?

I deliberately didn't use the phrase 'entitled' because I knew it would cause people to get emotive - but the reason we don't have a right to know anything is that the vast majority don't have any (to coin a phrase) skin in the game. At the end of the day we're just customers of the club - however deeply we care (and however much we want to know what's going on), we're not on the list of creditors so don't have a right to know anything.....

Did I say omicron exclusively? As for blame culture, stop being such a victim......
I was responding to a post that said the unvaccinated weren't responsible for the never-ending cycle of lockdowns and restrictions. There is a clearly defined link between the seriousness of the symptoms people experience if they are vaccinated compared to those that aren't - the unvaccinated suffer worse symptoms and need more help - and that means the NHS has to step in and use more of their resources - with a knock on effect to the treatment of other 'non-Covid' patients and the overall capacity of the health service to look after the population. That's why the government (and the opposition) are pushing vaccinations and that's why they decide to re-introduce tougher restriction and/or lockdowns - that's nothing to do with your conspiracy theories however much you'd like to deflect the blame.....
The more people that get vaccinated and have boosters, the less justification there is for further restrictions to be imposed - it's a pretty simple equation that most folk can comprehend without needing it spelling out in words of one syllable.....

Just one little example of NHS pressures. My great niece, who is a nurse, caught covid, got to day 9 of her 10 days isolation when her daughter tested positive, so now she has to start another 10 days because them's the NHS rules. (She works in a paediateic ICU.) So 19 days away from the workplace.
She's young and fine in herself, but there doesn't need to be many of those examples for the NHS to be on its knees.
The impact just isn't on the elderly and vulnerable. It's about keeping things operational.

I think they have a very specific job - communication is to be welcomed but shouldn't be expected......ands when they try to be open, it seems they simply leave themsleves open to criticism from those fans that mistakenly feel they 'deserve' more or else don't understand that the administrattors are working in a fluid situation where things can change.....

Anyone who has bought or sold a house will understand how legal issues can cause expected time frames to slip. This is much more complex. I'm sure the main delay is the parasite issue.

Usual suspects interpreting information in the minutes on a timeline slip to Feb as impending doom and certain liquidation. While it isn’t great it’s certainly nowhere near that bleak. If it was we would be hearing about it now, the administrators would be preparing us for January fire sale, concerns about seeing out the season. Nothing of the sort has been mentioned. Remain confident and there are three buyers still involved who will be aware of all the skeletons. It’s a deal that’s either been made more complex by the parasitic claims of Boro and Wycombe, or as others have eluded to the administrators are using it to string out the process to earn more money for Quantuma.
As for the timing of the deal, as long as with preferred bidder in place we can avoid January sales that is a reasonable outcome. The embargo means we can do minimal business anyway and let’s face it most of us  have accepted we’re in League 1 next season. Just need to get to the summer with squad intact for most part and a new owner to at least get something resembling market value for those players we need to sell, and give us a chance to put a competitive league one side together.
