Reggie Greenwood reacted to angieram in El DerbyCo
Just to add, it is worth listening to the Radio Derby interview in full rather than reading this typical BBC website clickbait article, which takes this comment completely out of context and writes the short piece around that.
Presumably because the "journalist" who wrote it (I use the term loosely) knew exactly how people would react.
The whole interview is much more balanced and is quite a good listen.

I think it's no worse him having ambition than the opposite, where you seem to delight in having us relegated before we actually are.
Either might happen, but what you talk about says more about the individual than the circumstance.

What would you have liked him to say instead?
"The eventual goal is to scrape PL survival every year like Newcastle and Palace"
"The eventual goal is to fluke a promotion"
"The eventual goal is to reach the playoffs"
The eventual goal is to stay in the Championship"

Well...... Forest owner said he’s taking Forest to the Premier League and among the elite so they can’t say too much either!

I always like to be optimistic and will wait to see if the funds come through and the EFL tests are passed. If he has the funds to buy the club and guarantee to be able to fund it for 2 years fair enough , if not then it will be known very soon.
If he has funds then hopefully they are from legit sources. I would be seriously worried if not , unlike fans of a neighbouring club , where there are unanswered questions as to the source of that money and don’t seem to care as long as they can continue to collect ageing players in large wages.

I agree, I doubt many, if any, fans of other clubs are jealous. Even if “it doesn’t go wrong” I suspect most (including Derby fans) really don’t expect the takeover to turn us into any where near a force in the premier league.
As for whether Derby fans think it’s a good thing, I can obviously only speak for myself. If it goes ahead I don’t necessarily see it being a bad thing. If it falls through we’ll remain in a delicate state of limbo until another buyer is found. So, I’m (extremely) cautiously optimistic but I’m certainly not getting excited. If it happens - fine, let’s give the guy a chance and hope for the best. If it doesn’t happen then let’s wait for the next one to come along. At the end of the day, there is nothing we can do to influence the outcome so I’m not letting it stress me out one way or the other.

There are legitimate questions which is fine and understandable. I would hope that we all have them , then there is making mountains out of mole hills like the Cardiff thing. Must be a balance between the two ?

Yes iF I recall correctly DCFC have never owned the land always been in a very long lease with a “peppercorn “ (low rent). DCFC own the buildings but with the land being on green belt with very strict planning applied ( as Mel has found out ) this would be of no use or value to any “asset strippers” as it can only be used as a training ground or agricultural use. I suppose they could sell the buildings and rent the training facilities but the returns wouldn’t be worth the bother

What exaggeration ? All he said was that he has spoken to them which Cardiff confirmed. He made no other claim , never said he even entered into meaningful discussions .
