Tyler Durden got a reaction from Ram-Alf in Warne Out Out
Do you have two accounts on here and your other one is Negative Creep by any chance

The "answer" to this will lie entirely with the mindset of the poster.
As the previous poster has just admirably illustrated.

Another positive from yesterday was the added entertainment !!
No sadly I do not mean the football, but the WWE style multiple grappling and head locks seen at every corner.
I think yesterday was the 'best' we have seen yet and totally unpunished !!

Yes, that’s how it works, sorry to disappoint.

The kiss of death for any football manager is poor performances AND poor results.
Even the most narrow minded supporter of the club has to begrudgingly admit that second in the table is a good position to be in.
If we were hovering around midtable then my stance might be different however as we're not then it's a moot point.

I see we're second in the table. I know this as I've just been on the BBC Sports website to make sure of this so it's a fact rather than opinion.
I don't believe (which IS my opinion) that we've got to this point by fluking a whole run of results so this is something that Warne is doing right.
It also is heartening that we can still be hyper critical of yesterday's substitutions etc when we still are second in the league.

We didnt lose! Others did. The crowd had better vibe. The positives are all regarding individual performances rather than tactics/team set up.
Bird is playing like a weight has been lifted snd responding well to having Adams with him. Not sure which is leading to him looking strong but perhaps both.

After 30 odd games it’s in no coincidence or luck we’re in the running for promotion. You don’t get there by fluking wins.
But we do seem to win in spite of ourselves as opposed to blowing teams away or crushing them with our sheer class.
Think ultimately our season will hinge on the results against the teams in the top 8. Win more than we lose = good chance of autos. Win a couple, lose a couple = play offs, lose them all = 7th place again?
Think we’ll churn out the same level of performance, think results depend on whether the opposition can match us in the dirty part of the game or not.

Yer I made the mistake of trying to ask a larger question which was what is the point of doing something if you don't enjoy it, which as I alluded to really sits on the Depression etc thread on another forum.
I'll try and stick to discussing football matters in the future as it's far more simplistic 🙂

It was a disappointing result but I agree with the hundred previous posters who have pointed out that we're tactically naive. We started defensively against a team who had scored 6 away goals. We should have got stuck in from the first second. Too often this season the first 45 minutes is simply wasted, and then we're chasing the game in the second half after an adjustment.
I read the Guardian's report on the Leverkusen-Bayern game, and an observation there stuck out to me: "But what distinguishes this Leverkusen team is how little they rely on moments of individual quality. They defend and attack as a unit..." We rely almost entirely on moments of individual quality! In recent games particularly, it has been flashes from Bird, NML, Hourihane, or Collins to pull a result out of the bag. With a coherent system, we have good enough players, and a deep enough squad, to demolish most teams.
I don't think any individual had a bad game yesterday - in fact, I thought Sibley, Bird, Nyambe, Adams, and Nelson played very well - but they're being asked to set up in seemingly random, incoherent, and ineffective ways, from game to game. Second half was a good performance, and I was impressed by how they kept going and nearly snatched a winner through Nelson & Barks, but it should have been all over by then. Shrewsbury were pretty crap, and we let them off.
Still, 15 games to go, all to play for, and enough rubbish sides in this league that I still think we can struggle our way to an automatic spot!

When you have a season ticket you keep going but many times this season after leaving by 11 and getting back at 8 even when winning it has felt like a slog. After the effort and expense involved think fans can discuss the negatives as much as they like as long as they are not vicious to staff or players personally.
Are you really saying you get back from a game and feel uplifted focussing just on the positives? Yesterday was an opportunity missed against a poor side with 2 henchmen at the back who should have been torn apart. If we get promoted we will scrape it

You've endured the crap, I've enjoyed supporting my team dealing with the hand it's been dealt in League One. Some people prefer to dwell on the negative stuff, as is their right, I was just trying to add a bit of balance with some positives, as is my right.

After 31 games this season, I think most of us know roughly where we are as a football side. Results have been impressive, at times, performances just haven’t been. Days like this are going to happen, especially when the performance levels aren’t there to back it up, so it’s not one to get stressed about.

That we will get the same hysterics on here every time we don't win a game.
Pretty easy one to predict.

With a £16m wage bill and about £8m transfer spend - in league 1. Yes no wonder Ipswich did amazing things last season. Their budget was way bigger than everyone.
What they’re doing this season though against those championship budgets is exceptional.
