VulcanRam got a reaction from Tamworthram in Accrington Stanley (H) Mon 2nd Jan, 3pm KO
Just seen the highlights. Seems the ref was looking right at Osula when he kicked out. Then took his time in getting the decision right by consulting with his assistants. Good refereeing.
Other than that however, not a great performance.

For this window we just need bodies in who will hopefully get us over the line this season. Nothing long term, that all begins in the summer with what I expect will be a big turnaround with plenty of those who arrived in the summer but are out of contract leaving and all loanees returning.
Unless people leave now, I expect to to see a couple of loans to boost numbers for a tilt at promotion. The likes of a Shinnie or Marriott go against what Warne wants but it may be all we can hope for at this stage. I’d more expect players he’s worked with before to come and help out for a bit if he can get them. If he’s talking about a player who got promoted last season I’d expect someone from Rotherham.

VulcanRam got a reaction from Ellafella in Derby County Vs FGR: Match Ratings
Wildsmith 6
Smith 7
Forsyth 7
Cashin 7
Sibley 7.5 - note re Sibbo, I thought he has his best left back game for us yesterday. Strong in the tackle, good going forward, covered well. Looked like a full back and appears to be learning the role well. FGS were very limited but I hope games like this do wonders for his confidence.
Davies 6
Mendez-Laing 6.5
Osula 6
Hourihane 6
Thompson 6
Bird ? 6
Barkhizen 6
McDick 9
Collins 5
Knight 7.5
Dobbin 6

VulcanRam reacted to Tamworthram in Bielik at Brum
Just in the interest of balance so as not to imply he should be our debt for ever more:
I suspect part of the motivation behind “helping him with his World Cup dream” was to put him in the shop window and enhance his value should we decide to sell him on.
Yes we paid his wages whilst he was injured but, what was the alternative, cancel his contract and lose any potential value he might have? Also, I may be wrong, but don’t clubs take out some kind of insurance against players getting injured? Mind you, if we did we probably defaulted on the premiums.
Finally, do we really have to turn him into a Nathan Byrne like pariah? Has he actually said he doesn’t want to return to Derby or has he just shared is longer term ambition and made all the right noises for the club he is currently playing for?

Dogs.
Or maybe not the dogs, but definitely their owners.
No, I don't think they are cute, lovely or funny. No, I don't went them to jump up at me, lick me, or enter my personal space in any way, s*** anywhere near me, my house or anywhere I go.
But that won't stop owners letting them do all of the above.

Been better the last few games, arguably hitting his best form of the season so far.

Joe is a very very good keeper and was unfortunate to have Keiren Westwood ahead of him when he broke through, he was trusted in cup games or if KW was absent, his form earned him a u21 call up.
He sadly suffered a bad injury which set him back and did his confidence.
He was kept last season ahead of Dawson who we loaned to Exeter but for reasons known to Darren Moore alone he brought Bailey Peacock Farrell in on loan.
I'm absolutely delighted Joe is thriving, I watched him in a youth cup game years back and rated him.

VulcanRam got a reaction from Reggie Greenwood in v Burton Albion (A) - Predictions
Old Derby wouldn't win this. But I fancy a Paul Warne team for a 2-1 win. FRGS Cashin from a corner.

Arguably our two best players so far, NML and Wildsmith, couldn't regularly get into a L1 Sheff Wednesday team last season. It's all about fit and a manager trusting them and making them feel like they are wanted.

You don't think that there's a reason for that, and that reason was we stopped them? I thought they looked very dangerous at times but we mostly negated them very well.
Look at our team, no fullbacks, one centre-half. Lots of youngsters and hardly anyone over 6 foot! ?
We had better chances than them and were short of some good players.

I’m pretty sure Dobbin’s booking was for showing dissent to the linesman, to whom he gave a right mouthful. That’s what the ref seemed to be indicating to him.

We've seen some games this season which wouldn't be out of place in the Championship - this wasn't one of them. All a tad flat and disappointing. Both teams handing over possession too easily, lots of bluster with little skill. A very league 1 affair.
I'm all for more attacking and Warne said after he wants to see even more crosses into the box. Fine. No problem. But you a) have to then coach players to cross effectively and b) tell your players to get into the box to get on the end of them. So many crosses were put in because you could feel the player being told "I have to cross". But there was no-one there. Or it hit the first man. A victory for quantity over quality - presumably playing the law of averages that sooner or later one will break for you.
I thought defence and midfield played well today, but in the attacking third we weren't up to much other than McGoldrick, who's a joy to watch. Once he went off, all our attacking impetus went with him.
I expected Wednesday to be much better than they were but again proves the point there is nothing to fear in this league. A point was fair and a decent point all things considered.
Ref was awful.
