Sad day. Wish he could have stayed and gone up there with us but nothing is guaranteed and think the extra year he gave us was probably to the detriment of his development. But totally admire his loyalty,commitment and attitude. 
Feel disappointed for him that it wasnt a bigger move but hope he flourishes and makes the next step up soon.
Wishing nothing but the best to him.

Yes . I think I posted what I thought was needed but in retrospect after listening to others on here I realise I’m wrong.  Let’s face it we have only just come out of administration thanks to David Clowes.

PS Paul Warne is obviously doing his best and I know he knows what he’s doing. 

Keep the faith! Difficult to find good strikers on a budget of anything less than EPL level.  Who would have thought Didzy would have such a season last year on signing him also. We seem to be more balanced generally than last year just need the icing for the cake now 🐏

Came here to say just this.  Get the concern we've lost the Didzy goal machine but there's much more balance in the squad now, perhaps more opportunity to spread the goals around rather than rely on one player which is always dangerous. We were lucky Didzy didn't get a long-term injury.  I have no doubt there's fingers in all sorts of pies and the move of Knight may have been the thing holding up finalising things.  We've heard from a few of his recent signings that things have been progressing for weeks (or longer) - I'm sure that's the case with maybe at least 1 or 2 more signings. Ideal world in terms of getting everyone in for pre-season doesn't exist. 

So do you think from the thread title that PW will go "omg I forgot about a striker, thank goodness @Curtains reminded me." Rather than always seeing the most negative angle possible could it be that finalising Knight's position and getting the defence for perhaps less financial outlay than expected, that we are looking at finalising different targets now? Of course it would be good if new striker(s) were there for pre-season but on the basis PW's pre-season is for some "creating niggles", surely its better that they do miss it by that logic?

Rarely right I would accept. For 6 years though I was on the right side of the Mel Morris is a complete t**t debate.

Was at Camb away last season and thought here we go but he seemed very frustrated, bad body language later on and didnt really take to him at all but towards the end of the season was clearly working so hard all over the pitch. Looks like a different person on pre-season photos/video and just seems to be really up for it. Really hoping he makes me eat my words from last season. 

He seemed to have "downed tools" a bit at the back end of last season. When on it was very impressive. May just have one of those demeanours that doesnt look bovvered and he is perhaps quieter and I am being very unfair but I wouldnt be surprised if he left over the summer. Anyone have more insight into the type of guy he is and if he seems happy at Derby?
