Can you imagine the moaning if the Council used taxpayer’s money to buy the stadium or help a private business in any way (never mind any legal issues relating to ‘state aid’)?
The Derby populace go mental whenever the DT report that the Council have spent a few bob trying to make the City look a bit nicer; God knows what they’d say about millions on DCFC! This is assuming they have the money, which they don’t (again, imagine the furore if while they’re making people redundant they were spending cash on a football club). They might be able to spin it as an investment in the City’s economic well-being and a money earner through rent/interest, but I think it would go down like a lead balloon.
No, I can’t see Team Derby and the Council being any more than a well intentioned talking shop.

That is entirely up to you, comments like that will not make a blind bit of difference to the administrators. Yes it's understandable that people are eager for news but i would rather them get on with the matter in hand and keep quiet putting things in the public domain building peoples hopes up only then to be dashed later.

Probably because they will try to secure last minute funding from DCC to keep us ticking over.

You are forgetting the administrators that also want paying which will be non-negotiable, so if you add it all up it still comes to a significant amount, the likes of which the proposed buyers are probably not willing to pay.
Negotiations for the stadium shouldn't be part of the deal, the ground is not included in the administration. That is a matter to be resolved between the (hopefully) PB and MM. HMRC are probably onside as has been posted before but that doesn't mean to say they are willing to accept 25% it could be a higher percentage as a down payment with an agreement to pay the rest in instalments.

It goes without saying that this whole sorry mess is far from ideal, but I'm not sure we have any right to info, other than asking "Is the next game still going ahead?", and let's face it, until a game gets postponed, the answer is always going to be "Yes".  Ultimately, that's all we've paid for.
Yes, some info would be nice (or not!) but I'm loathe to claim we have any right to be kept informed.

What does pith me off, though, is the bare neglect from Q of everyone else - not even issuing a short 'holding' statement, just to allay stress and ambiguity.
If only to submit a sentence, such as: "Whilst we're aware of concerns about processes as we arrive at the end of February, all matters are in hand regarding the club's future with new owners. We're liaising with all parties including the EFL and will make further statements as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience".
Choose your own wording. Get out of jail free. Collect £200 and proceed to Ashley Avenue. Buy a property!
(Well; it's all bl00dy monopoly money to us fans, anyway!)
I'm thinking of the simple benefit of a Feb 28th statement, giving any acknowledgement about the future, to Rooney, his players and staff - trying to claw back the penalty points, month after month - the sight  of a bit of reassurance on their mental preparation for Tuesday night
Shame that Q elected not to do that, prior to a long away trip to their crucial game, for that 1% extra hope and belief to be instilled in player's minds that things are advancing, that they are fighting for something other than pride. It matters.

Not at all,the extension expires today, the EFL have heard nothing so why shouldn't they put it out there,if they hadn't people on here would be going mad at the EFL asking why we haven't been told anything as the extension is up.

It is up to the administrators to make contact with the EFL not the other way round.

Because the EFL shouldn't be having to phone them for an update, the onus is on the administrators to keep the EFL informed. If they can't give them an update,or won't, then you can't be surprised by the EFL's stance, certainly no point scoring on their behalf.

Indeed, so the bidders have 3 options. Pay enough for the club to avoid a 15 point deduction. Buy the club for as little as possible and get a 15 point deduction for failing to meet the rules of exiting administration without receiving a 15 point deduction, or lastly, keep your money in your pocket and walk away.

I understand that buddy and that's what's concerning me. I'm now at a point where I'm less concerned about possible sanctions in L1 than I am that these bidders we saw as shining lights might be horse-traders gambling with the future of the club merely to shave a few million off the asking price. Out of the fire...
In all honesty, I've not even considered as yet the impact of any additional points deductions, nor any other potential constraints we may need to negotiate if or when we are in fact relegated. If my fears are confirmed then that's a pretty stark indicator of the level of their likely commitment to the club and in that case, it won't be the EFL forcing players out the door, they'll all be walking of their own volition.
As I said earlier, I really hope I'm wrong and tomorrow brings better news ?‍♀️

I don't understand the anger at the administrators. They can't force anyone to buy the club. It seems to me that we are not a viable, going concern, and that seems to be the case as far as the 'bids' are concerned. If we were a sheepdog, we are half-blind, incontinent and the farmer would be considering taking us behind the barn to give us both barrels.
That's where I think we are now.

There's nothing definite about anything. The Binnies, Ashley's PR guy, Kirchner and Appleby have all confirmed their interest. Whether any of them have actually made official bids is anyone's guess.

So I am as anti-EFL as anyone; they're not fit for purpose.
But I cannot understand the anger over their statement today. Any anger should be aimed squarely at the Administrators.
They had an extension to proving we had funding for the rest of the season that took them to today. At the very least, they should have updated the EFL. Be nice if they also updated Rooney and the fans but I no longer expect that courtesy.
Some on here have asked why some others of us are really worried by this statement today. Well to start with, it was a deadline to prove that we could finish the season. Without such proof, there is a danger of us being thrown out of the league. If that's not bad enough, the delay may indicate that none of the bidders, if there are any, have reached the minimum "price". If that's Ashley playing his game of bidding as little as possible, that doesn't auger well for the future either does it?

Could it be that bids made were to low for creditors to accept, they wanted the full amount but didnt get that.
So now they are staring at a loss, but while a partial loss is better than nothing, it still doesnt mean that the creditors have to accept that.
The creditors might want to get nothing, thats their choice.
