But surely if we accepted his resignation and agreed to ‘relieve him of his duties’, then any right to compensation is gone?

    Strange move.
He doesn't need the money, his wife hated the US when over there previously, lads in the United academy, 20m mansion finally up and running, DC are doing absolutely dog s**** (7-0 last game).
Maybe the ultimate aim is for Wayne to be a owner or purchase a share in a club over there.

Something not adding up here. Kids at United academy, missus doesn’t like, his stock is high over here… yet he chooses to go back there.
Maybe I’m just cynical but after seeing his apparent bid for power with his agent and Kirchner, makes me wonder what he’s up to.

But we didn't clear the debt, we paid the minimum wanted to avoid a 15 point deduction.

In some ways I can see the analogy but if I'm honest this feels different. We need a whole new squad because there's no one there rather than because the squad is just poop.
We're still under restrictions.the players coming here have bought into it rather than £ bought - I can't believe we're offering huge wages under the ongoing business plan restrictions, maybe fatter than some L1 but I doubt we're blowing championship teams out the water.

I don’t really believe in loyalty in football. We expect loyalty from players and managers, yet a run of say ten games without a win and they’re booed, not fit to wear the shirt and called to be dumped.
It depends on the situation with Curtis Davies. We really don’t know what the hold up is.
But Derby as a club need to be financially better run. We can’t go giving out top wages or wages beyond our means. We are in this mess to begin with because we spent way too much money on wages on players with no re-sale value. Davies was one of them.

I'm a massive fan of Davies as a player and a pro but there has to be limits and heavily over-committing to a contract for one player leaves us short elsewhere and we simply don't have enough players as it stands so we need to bring people in. Flexibility on media work and coaching is less of a problem but if his demands are structure-breaking then I don't see that we'd have much choice but to move on. Hopefully DCFC and Davies are talking similar numbers and its just some fine detail over non-money issues.

And unsurprising, since we started pre-season with the smallest squad ever. Even Arthur Cox inherited more players than Rosenior has, and back then the club weren't under any EFL restrictions.
It's still important that fans recognise, amongst all of the understandable euphoria, that this won't be a cakewalk.

Well of course we are aware who the Clown was in all of this. I think you and I had him well pegged by 2015. My issue is that we have fans like @Sparkle playing online Billy Big Balls, only a couple of days after being rescued, about a young footballer who has taken the opportunity to further himself and secure himself a good contract. The more I read some comments on here, the more pleased Lee must be that he has made the right decision to go elsewhere.

I understand people getting frustrated over this, but you have to understand that there is absolutely no loyalty in football. Players only have a responsibility to themselves to earn as much as they can. If they have to exploit loopholes and screw over their current club, they will without the slightest hesitation. I don't particularly like this, but it's the truth. Remember it next time some player is kissing the badge or mouthing pointless hollow platitudes about the club in an interview. They don't care about the club and they don't care about you.

You know that to be utter garbage don’t you. Forest have not been in administration in the last 20 years to my knowledge. If an owner sells at an undervalue to his shareholding that is completely different to imposing an administrative deduction on tax authorities and suppliers.

Weirder Bremen are a football club though, and football clubs are renowned for exploiting contract and liquidation situations. A couple of years back I remember some club securing David Marshall and Nathan Byrne from a financial stricken Wigan for a few pounds. No thoughts then I guess by the club or fan base as to Wigan and it’s creditors. That will be the same Nathan Byrne who will also be getting pelters soon about his loyalty. You really couldn’t make it up.
