Went to the Baseball at the London Stadium a couple of months ago.

An astonishing number of people were buying 2 foot long hot dogs and 2 foot trays of nachos as well as what looked like litre ‘glasses’ of beer! The amount of food and drink being wasted was obscene…..no wonder Americans are so obese….a burger or some chips looked like a slimming world diet in comparison!

I think I've found a picture of said speedboat online, if that helps.

Did it have an outboard motor?
Why do people tell - potentially - great stories then leave out essential details?

It's hardly 'tick box' if there is a determined effort to increase diversity across the board by PGMOL. That's a plan.
Tick box is when there is a small concession to appease people whilst largely carrying on as before. Often by appointing someone not good enough to do the job.  That's the illusion of a plan.
Personally I think that good referees should be promoted and drawing attention to the fact that they are good will only encourage new people from more diverse backgrounds to take up refereeing and it become the norm.
I remember when there were comments about Sian Massey-Ellis on here every time she ran the line at our game. Now she doesn't even warrant a mention! She was, of course, very good again on Tuesday night.
Wished all our assistant referees were as good as Sian and referees as good as Rebecca.

IslandExile reacted to DavesaRam in How Paul Warne survives!
I think much of Tuesday's upturn is Warne stepping back and letting the players do what they do for themselves, almost as if he had a paddy and said “Stuff it. It’s up to you guys now”. It all hinges on what happens from this point on.
When I was growing up my dad ran a mobile shop business from home, which meant there was stock everywhere, in the garage, two sheds and a coal house, with empty bottles and crates stuffed wherever he could put them. My brother, sister and I were allocated a patch of garden to tend and nurture, and each spring we would be excited to see the green shoots of whatever we had planted starting to spring up. But dad would inevitably have a large stock delivery at that time, meaning loads of crates and bottles would get dumped onto our bits of garden, and the green shoots would be crushed and gone.
Each time the team had played some actual football, we have got excited at the sight of the “green shoots”, only for the next match to arrive and the shoots, and our hopes are crushed and destroyed by “hoof it and cross it to no-one”.
I never, ever got to see anything fruitful from my little bit of garden, but really, really hope, all these years later, to see the repetitive crushing of all hope get broken, and Paul sends the lads out to play football,  leaving the other team to worry about what we are  going to do to them.

I wish I had only seen those two.
Driving up from Bristol was like going to a funeral every fortnight.
I didn’t mind losing to Arsenal, Liverpool and Man United but being stuffed by Villa and West Ham was horrible.
I still remember the temporary silence as the goal nestled in the net against Newcastle. It was like we were all in shock.
My hope, of course, is that we get back to the Premier League but I hope this time we do it having built a sustainable, winning squad. Those who squeak into the top flight with little budget are doomed to failure.

I was travelling during the 11pt season. Didn’t get to touch base that often. I was in the country for the first game, went to pride park. Saw us put in a pretty decent effort to get a point from a 2-2 draw with, I want to say Portsmouth (which makes me realise things could be worse). Then headed off for adventures in Africa and beyond for 18 months.
then the only game I got to see while travelling was the win against Newcastle. So as far as I was concerned, it was a pretty good season. 4 points from 2 games.

The most important thing Warne needs now is consistency. If we played like we did last night, he’d have next to nobody wanting him out, even if we did come off 3-1 losers to Stevenage.
We have showed on a couple of occasions that we can play good football and get good results, if we just revert back to poor football and poor results, it’s even more frustrating.
He deserves credit for the victory last night in the same way as he deserves criticism for games like Saturday. If we just perform hot & cold, we aren’t going to progress. Hopefully it’s something to build on.

It's almost as if they were scared of being seen to enjoy themselves.
There has been some pretty aggressive bullying of people who don't agree with the Warne out rhetoric at matches - I have witnessed it.
I think the core group of singers, who keep going all match whatever the response, were excellent again last night.
There is quite a good response from some areas of North Stand, too.
But it was also notable last night that the players were celebrating more amongst themselves than with the fans. They, too, have been subject to some abuse.
If the team can build from here, the atmosphere will come back. But it will take time to rebuild trust on  both sides.

He played well and took his goal well - certainly in a more composed manner than NML who, in a similar position, just blazed it high and wide.
However the assist for Washington's goal has to go to the Northampton defenders who parted like the waves.
As enjoyable as last night was, I am still struggling to get over just how poor the Cobblers lot were..... Very poor.

    Great watch.
Wonderful to see passing on the deck through midfield, creating and taking chances (well until they fell to Collins) but....boy oh boy....
Northampton have to be one of the worst sides I've ever seen. Did any of their players break sweat?
"You can only beat what's in front of you" but the Northampton players weren't even in front of us, they stood aside, take Washington's goal as the prime example.
