Sorry if my posts were abit scatter gun’ish. Was trying to share as much info as possible.

Without getting ahead of ourselves, this is so refreshingly positive and very welcome to listen to.

I absolutely agree and places like those are good examples, with there only really being one or two large centres of populations. The last thing I'll say about it here is that I've walked/rambled/hiked a lot of Derbyshire and often the people of the villages and small towns we've walked into don't feel a huge connection to Derby 'city'. The one thing that I've found as a common thread though, is the love and following of DCFC -- the emphasis being on "County". Doesn't matter if you're from Derby or Buxton or Edale... there's always someone you'll meet out there on the hills or in the last pub on the way home with a Ram on their shirt.

We are and should always be Derby County! Changing to an awful name like “Derby City” would alienate so many people, hundreds of thousands, who like I live in Derbyshire and always follow the Rams!

I would definitely try and take him to Reading game. I know it’s an evening but… under floodlights with the fans I believe coming together like never before in recent years. It will be electric. There will be no half fans at that game. Both sets of supporters will be United too. Not one to miss IMO

Any Rams follower who lived through Cloughie and Taylor leaving in 1973 is certain of two things:-
    1) Thiings are never as dark as they seem and
    2) DCFC have an amazing resilience and capacity to bounce back.
NB. A follower supports the team in fair and foul weather. It means more than being a mere fan!
COYR…. Only -2 points with 38 games to go!

I think this is an underrated point that I’d love to go into more in a more appropriate thread, but I don’t think Mel, and other supporters, realised the uniqueness of Derby County that we are largely a one club, one sport county and how important the football club is to such a large community. The closest you get to it is Norwich/Ipswich and Newcastle/Sunderland

Keep going @B4ev6is - we need your enthusiasm on here to brighten the mood. We’ve been through plenty of tough times with DCFC and we’ve always come out the other side. We’ll be back !

Managed to get my brother to come along (who never does midweek games due to working the early shifts at a warehouse). So that's me, the father, my brother, the other half and I'm asking a few others this evening. I'll keep checking the website when I get home from work and get them purchased. Hoping to get East Stand somewhere (nearer the away fan corner).
Shaping up to be a proper night this, not just for us the supporters but also the lads on the pitch putting a shift in and the men and women who earn their living with Derby County.
