  1. It’s going to be a massive rebuild and with it comes massive risk. The new players ( of which there will be many) will probably take a good while to gel and that could quite easily lead to a bad start to the season results wise. A bit like the past season but maybe worse…

Not all the signings will be a success cos that’s how football works.

We will need to be patient and understanding. If CBT can find his feet in the championship that would be a massive plus and almost like a new player on the books given how little he contributed last term.

Ditto to a slightly less extent Bradley- cos if he’s not up to the Champo we will be desperately short of central defensive players. Mind u, I am still hearing that Fozzy will be with us for another year….(hopefully then coaching staff )…

  2. Is it confirmed that Wildsmith didn’t join the lads on the Vegas jaunt ?

If so then that would definitely suggest he’s on the move…. I think Johansson is probably as good but will cost us- mind u, JW would now require another signing on fee if he did stay with us- and that could be expensive.

Several players haven’t been seen in the sneak vids and postings from Vegas… anyone else we definitely know didn’t go !!?

Was just starting to go through the gears and then he missed that sitter at Wycombe. The fact we drew and at the time it looked a costly error probably didn’t do him any favours.

Then he fell out the team and the nature of the rest of the matches meant he hardly got a kick.

Clean slate for next season and hopefully he can do a job in some capacity.

And what a miss it was 😎

What was out worst miss in the season ? Waggy pushes for the top as does Collo ..😊 Some real clangers in there 😂

    Foul. I agree with Brian.

Obstruction rule completely ignored and forgotten by refs. All the goals in the Ars vs Spurs game were blatant blocking/fouls on the Spurs keeper…

Interesting that Nelson started doing it for us as well in the closing games of the season..

They are fouls, pure and simple.

  5. I do worry that going forward we just won’t have the resources to effectively compete in the Champo. Obviously we don’t expect top 6 straight away but the fact is we need to replace a number of players and move on some who are only really L1 level. We have some catching up to do and it’s going to cost.

Clowes has talked of trying to attract new investment and us getting promoted should help with that. But it seems to me that we need someone else to come in and assist money-wise and in truth that is in reality putting in their own money and not looking for a return- just like Lionel Pickering did (why isn’t there a statue of him by the way !!??).

We can be clever with frees etc but the bottom line is that we will have to pay fees for most of the quality players we need.

With our current (and it’s a sensible ) business model of only funding expenditure from direct revenue I just don’t see us having sufficient resources to get those players we need. Time will tell of course….

Glad Fozzy got to see a promotion with us.

Not the one we wanted, out of the Championship. But he’s been a great servant to the club and glad he’s got to enjoy some success!

Surely he’s gotta stay on the coaching staff when he stops playing for us !? I still think he’s got one good season in the Champo left in him. Top man 👍🐏🐏🐏🐏🐏

Sadly this will be my last match today. My first was in 1956 as a 13year old, My dad used to take me before that but he stopped going when we went down to the third division north. My mate and I would catch the 12 oclock bus from Melbourne and be the first in the ground. We stood in the Normanton end pigeon loft, I think it was 3 shilling. To this day I remember that team. We were champions in 1957 and I ran onto the pitch after the last match against Southport, Ray Straw scored 37 goals that season, The next ten years saw me start work, get married and have two children, I had moved to Derby, and after my family, the Rams were the most important thing in my life I never missed a home game in those ten years even though we were only an average second division side. And then in 1966 after England won the world cup my mate and I decided to have a season ticket, Little did we know what would happen that season, I was at work one day and a Rams supporting work mate told me we had signed a player from Bradford Park Avenue, his name was Kevin Hector I'd never heard of him but he was without doubt the most wonderful footballer to grace the Baseball Ground I had ever seen, and because of this we wanted to see more players like him which led to Tim Ward getting the sack and BC becoming Manager, what followed was ten years of unbelievable success and enjoyment. And then things started to go wrong off and on the pitch and I stopped being a season ticket holder during Peter Taylors time as manager, i still loved The Rams of course and when I turned 65 and retired my old mate from Melbourne and I bought season tickets again. But sadly covid left my best friend of 80 years with a dementia problem and he know no longer knows me. For the last two seasons I have been going alone to the match but its just not the same for me. Therefore I am calling it a day, as I write this I am welling up as I will do this afternoon. Thank you Derby County for every thing I will love you till I die.

    Fantastic and heart warming.

Derby County thanks you for your life-long loyalty. All the very best
