I still think we'll win because we've got the better players and Orient don't have a lot to play for now, but dropping a winger and striker for a centre back and centre mid after we've just failed to score against Wycombe seems a strange choice. And it feels quite harsh on CBT .... Sonny lets the team down and comes straight back in as soon as his suspension is up, but CBT is dropped after his first .

We are still the favourites for second (so say the bookies!!!!)
Keep the faith. It was never going to be straight forward. We wouldn’t love following this club as much if it was. 😀
The bookies don’t see and watch us play each week 😎

I have never understood how football has allowed this bizarre situation to be accepted where the Clubs pay the fees for the player’s agents. These players employ their agents- they work for them and benefit from their efforts. Yet the Clubs pay the fees ! It’s nonsense. The players themselves should be paying for THEIR agent’s fees.
Madness.

Bolton can ge a maximum of 93 points but have Pompey (h), Shrewsbury (h), Port Vale (h) and Peterboro (a). Peterboro can get a maximum of 92 (Like Derby). But they have 5 games to play in 13 days starting with Oxford (a), Fleetwood (h), Bristol (a), Cheltenham (a) and last game against Bolton at home. Between Bolton & Peterboro, one or both won't get maximum points because they both play each other on the last day.
The way I see it; Pompey need a win this Saturday to secure promotion and also take the League One title knowing the trophy would be displayed at their next home fixture against Barnsley. Bolton, now see a chance to catch Derby in 2nd spot, both teams will be going for a win, so I see a draw. Peterboro also look to have a sniff of the 2nd spot but face Oxford away who need to pick up points to hold on to that 6th spot. Peterboro have'nt drawn a league match since January, so I'm thinking this would also be a draw.
Derby, with the points in the bag (always better than games in hand at this squeeky bum time of the season) have Orient (h), Cambridge (a) and already relegated Carlisle at home. Win all three and we should secure 2nd spot. Well we did win 4 on the bounce at the begining of last month. It could end up with more twists and turns yet and possibly the 2nd spot might be won on goal difference.
The way things are now after tonight u almost feel that we need Posh to be in with a chance of the autos (along with Bolton) for the last game of the season so that it means something. So long as we go into that last game knowing that, if we win then we will likely go up, then I will take that… even if it’s a question that we have to win by a certain number of goals to go up by GD..

NML can always make something happen and he has been our best attacking player this season, so in Warne’s eyes, almost definitely.
He is as important to us this year as McGoldrick was last year.
Up to four games ago that is completely true. Since then he’s effectively been a passenger as an attacking force.
I love Nat as a player but we have to be honest…. True, he can’t be expected to ‘do it’ every game but five games without output at this stage of the season is fatal… and yes, that does show how important he is to us as a team…

I think that's the main point for me - what on earth have they been doing since the last game? Thought they'd be refreshed, motivated and up for the challenge.
Arrogance.

NML has been gradually ground down over the season. Same happened last season. And yet we expect miracles from him
The first season when he was getting used to the PW style of play I can understand. But after a full pre-season he should surely be fully fit now and able to complete a full season .

Warne says “ if we were in September , it would be a good point “. Agreed , but we were supposed to be in 4 cup finals .
Sick of his blathering clap trap.

Weren't good enough or didn't have the bottle? Because we were good enough against Bolton and Pompey. We got ourselves into a very healthy position. Time after time this season when they have the weight of expectation on them against a (respectfully) lesser side like Northampton or Wycombe they fold.
I think it’s arrogance. Even PW and Waggy have touched on it in interviews recently…: that the players think they can just turn up…then u hear PW this last week saying that he didn’t like the look of the players in training ….

I stumbled on a Youtube video of all of Chris Martin's goals (97, I think).Oh what memories. And no, I am not calling him to be brought back to Derby, his day is done. But if only we could see team football like that again. We have the players to make a passable imitation of it, but with this coaching team, it ain't going to happen.
Funny enough I happened to look at a YT vid last night of some of Johnny Russell’s goals for Kansas… some classical finishes in there…

A point closer to where we want to be ? BS
To be honest I’m sick of hearing his baffoonish BS and the players talking things up.
Even more so after the Northampton fiasco the players and mgmt turn in such a turgidly abject performance as that tonight !!?? Pathetic. Spineless.
They don’t deserve us.

Out of everyone, Conor Hourihane. I hope he performs better than he has all season.
Totally bizarre substitution given the situation and the type of game it is….. what is he on !!???

Want to be positive but sick of all the talk and no action…. Depressing stuff.
That hope that kills u is killing me …😳

Why is it whenever we play a team who come off the back of an extra cup game, who should be knackered, we make them look like world beaters?
Slight exaggeration, but we look crap!
… even more so when PW is saying in an interview a couple of days ago that he didn’t like the look of the players in training… what the F is all that about !!??🤷

Collins playing deep, could be the single worst decision I’ve ever seen. Not like he’s known for his tidy feet and nice passing. It’s not working Warne change it.
True. It’s been an absolute mare of a decision and just hasn’t worked. Square peg, round hole.

Gonna be a llllooooonnnggggg 45….
Crikey, we look so average….
Let’s hope they run out of steam…

We need to play a little through the middle. Wycombe defending the wings easily at the moment and we look predictable. We’re also wasting our won time from goal kicks. Take time to pass it out. Pass it out for it to come back after a few passes and then long anyway🤷🏽♂️
When have we passed through the middle !? It’s almost as if PW bans them from doing it…it’s ok playing it out wide when our star wingers are on form, but when they aren’t we have to find another way…

Barkhuizen on for CBT at half time?
Both our super wingers flattering to deceive …(albeit that the whole team is pretty ordinary right now).
Very reminiscent of Northampton…. I dread to think what happens if they score….

Nml hasn’t been the same player for over a month now give him 15 mins second half then I’d be getting barks on for him
Just when we need him the most his form has gone out of the window…😳🤷
As u say, it’s not just one game…. Maybe the last four or so…

Bolton doing well against Pompey…. Need the latter to do what they have been doing all season and grind out a win…
For us, 3 is the magic number…
