  1. Surely it can’t and won’t be the third part of the awful away day trilogy after The cobblers and Wycombe !?😳😳

i fear for the worst if I am honest. Small, bobbly, dry pitch. Cambridge scrapping for their lives …. Has all the makings..
Strange thing is that we really in many ways want Cambridge to win mid week and Port Vale to lose as that really guarantees Cambridge survival and then they would maybe be less fired up against us.

But then again we need Port Vale to go into their game with Bolton on Saturday not effectively having been already relegated and with something to fight for…..🤷

When you farm out a 28 year old on loan, it's a signal that you don't rate him (as indeed most Cardiff fans don't seem to). If Cardiff put too high a fee on him, they'll get nothing, because most, Championship teams won't have much money to spend either and those with money will be looking higher I think.

The main reason they loaned him out was because he’d had these big injuries and they not only wanted to get him match fit but also to see how he played. Both of those boxes have been ticked. I think most of us believe he can do it in the Championship- why would Cardiff now think differently? They obviously thought so when they bought him.

But at the end of the day it will come down to how much we want to pay for him. Thorne helped us by agitating for a move, but I don’t see Ebou doing that…

I agree. Its all about blend. People used to say Darryl Powell wasn't 'technically good enough' but he was a massive player for us. He was very similar to Ebou and did a great job alongside more technically gifted players such as Asanovic for example. Aljosa was just about as technically gifted as its possible to get but needed a player like Powell in there

DPFG ! He was a major cog in the wheel 👍

  4. Classic George Thorne scenario in that we all want the Club to buy Adams. However, whilst many existing players will leave end of season (some who are on big money wages) it’s still likely that the actual transfer fee pot will be relatively small.
Cardiff will have been monitoring Adams’ performance this season and even if they are prepared to entertain a sale I can see them holding out for a decent fee- certainly more than we paid for CBT (maybe they will take an exchange!!?👍).

Anyway, if that sale went through it will take a large chunk of that transfer pot. Guess what I am saying is that we almost buy Ebou just to stand still. Surely any money left will have to go on a class striker. Gonna be tough unless we get some decent ‘investment’ from somewhere..

I hate us being poor’ 😟

I think us (Pompey) and Derby will go up automatically now.

You guys know that if you beat Cambridge and Carlisle you are up. I fully expect you to win them both. You couldn't have asked for 2 better fixtures really to end the season with.

We need 1 point from 3 games for promotion, which I think we should be able to get but you never know what can happen in football. Not counting our chickens just yet.

I think Bolton play the best football in the league, but they aren't as streetwise as Pompey and Derby; I think we both are able to grind out results.

From this position, it really should be Pompey and Derby going up automatically.

    Should be…..

but were u at Wycombe or Northampton..????😳😳

    No chickens counted…

A win for Cambridge, on Tuesday against the Gas, then Cambridge should be safe from relegation with nothing play for in the game against us.

    Carlisle already relegated

Please Derby no more Drama just a nice controlled 6 points from the last 2 games and we are there, no matter what anyone else does.🐏🐏🐏

Indeed. A win for Wycombe against Port Vale also helps in order to take any mathematical possibility out of the equation . 👍

    Come on u Shrews !😎

Getting in box more often. People often credit a lack of penalties with bad refs and any other excuse, but it normally tends to be the simple fact that if you get in the box more often, you get fouled in the box more often.

To be fair, we’ve scored more goals than anyone else. So we’ve probably got in the box often enough, we’ve just been more effective at tucking the chance away more often, rather than waiting to be fouled.

Also helps if u have a tricky player like Kamara and a home crowd that -just like the good old days- is right on top of the action and able to pressurize players/refs.

The original point I made was that more physical sides are better at set-pieces than technical sides. For some reason you claim this is drivel when it’s pretty evident, especially outside of PL level where the riches allow Liverpool and City to have players who possess both.

Warne evidently favors physicality over technical ability. The reason why Adams looks technical is because he is playing a league below. Derby’s players are better than most at this level, regardless of physical attributes. Adams didn’t cut it at Championship level with Cardiff yet League One appears a breeze for him.

Warne has succeeded by getting us to at least match, often overcome the opponent’s physical attributes while seeing our higher individual quality come through. We have won countless games this season just through individual quality - the sort of quality the opponents don’t possess.

At Championship level we won’t be able to rely on that, because with a lower half budget, we’ll likely come up against opponents of better individual quality.

To say Adams didn't cut it at Cardiff is a bit harsh seeing as he only managed 11 games and was out for a year with some debilitating injuries.

I have no doubt the player we have seen this season could cut it in the Champo- even with a top half team.

    P'boro 4-0 down now!

Speaking to my Posh mate who is at the game, he says the whole team looks knackered….although Posh have had some chances and bad misses…

Those games obviously catching up with them…

Doesn’t bode well for their last game vs Bolton…😳
