Inoue is really quite impressive. For the first five rounds he looked like he was winning on points but then he just seemed to take it up a level - or maybe he is carrying on at the same rate as his opponents tire. The finishing combination was just text book - problem for him is where to go, we've seen time and again that power punchers lose their unique advantage when they go up through the weights but he's cleaned up here so hard to see much attractive to him or the promoters.

What a numpty I am, now realize I was watching a repeat of the Fulton flight. I promise to pay more attention in the future...

You always have to question fighters who can jump through weight classes. You can’t just pack on 20lbs of lean muscle without juicing when you are already a peak condition athlete.

And fighters who call off fights with weeks to go with a knee injury. Many will be thinking that the real reason Beterbiev has backed away is because he might be glowing a little too much.

    Not very impressive.

But let's see if he can adapt to the championship. He has quite the record of relegation but hopefully he has learned. That would be more impressive.

I share your concern, I've not always been his biggest fan. But I do hope he's going to be given access to a better squad than he has previously enjoyed. Then we will see, I guess.

And I wish him well with it, it would be terrible for us to be back thinking about trips to Stevenage and Shrewsbury.

Agree about the move from London. After the hustle and bustle, and the bright lights of London, his first wander into our city centre would be one hell of a blow! It's a dump, especially the Victoria Street area! No wonder he seemed to lose his way!

Yeah, but they don't have Birds bakery in London. No West End nightclub will bring more pleasure than two vanilla slices and an elephants foot.

As I posted elsewhere, his contributions per minute played (goals + assists) are higher than Mendez-Laing, so to say he hasn't contributed is factually nonsense. As recently as Wycombe away, he set up two massive chances for NML and CBT and it wasn't really his fault that they weren't converted.

That said, he won't be good enough for Championship level and moving him on would be best all round, but please don't try to tell me he hasn't contributed.

Read my post again, actually taking in the words this time, and you will see I haven't.

Beating Yeovil isn’t for everyone though is it.

Anyone want a sweepstake for how long it will be till we get a "Games I wish I hadn't been at" thread kicking off?

Oh, I'll start. Crystal Palace away, the season of the WBA play off win. We were garbage, Gary Teale looked like someone who had been told he would be shot if he didn't play.We lost, Sunderland got the second automatic and it all felt rather poo.

As for the OP, again - as with others - apologize if I've duplicated.

    - The 5-0 against Wolves under Mac. Really felt we were on to something that day

    - The FA Cup win against Forest when Archie scored the winner

    - The Soton play off semi in the tipping rain (I know it's been mentioned but it was just golden). I went for a job interview the next day and couldn't speak

    - Huddersfield (a) Boxing Day under TBE. Just a great vibe of a team on the way up

    - Three all draw against the Wendies when we were 3-1 down after 89 mins. God bless Kinky!

    - QPR under Lampard when he started the bounce, play offs secured

We have a plug in hybrid but will be changing it for a polestar 2 or ioniq 5 later in the year as we found we use the petrol engine side so rarely (and it's so much better to drive and cheaper in EV mode) that we decided to buy a full EV next.

Yeah, our thought it is to keep one of our two cars as petrol so we can do the occassional long run without having to charge and then have the other electric. Your point on driving experience is a very good one for two reasons - plug in hybrids are terrible in petrol mode (ours makes all sorts of noises unrelated to the speed of the car as it charges the battery to the needed level - not sure if it is the same on all plug ins but for the Volt you never actually 'use' the petrol engine to drive the car, the purpose of the engine is to then charge the battery - if that makes sense). Second point is that the drive experience of an electric car - torque, no gear change, response - knocks any petrol engine into a cocked hat.

You shouldn't pay income tax on any pension contributions, period.

You should, if you didn't pay tax at source.

What is infuriating though, is that you get taxed on what you earn, taxed on what you save and taxed on what you spend.

And, for all of this, I genuinely struggle to see anything of equivalent value that I get for it (I pay for most services I receive, from bins to roads and opt out of many others - e.g. dental. I don't mind much of it going to others less able but I can't even see that these days). It is a complete and utter scam - any party that wants to sweep to a landslide victory at the next election just have to promise transparency on government spending and where your taxation goes and they'd have the HoC to themselves.

For me it's not the engines but the batteries. After a few years of use the life left is still an unknown and unclear how long would be left before expensive replacements are needed. It's that unknown which puts me off.

I've got a Chevrolet Volt - gives me about 35 miles of electric charge and then a petrol engine. Run it locally, largely, and ten years on two points to note:

    - Currently tracking at about 96mpg, we use it for long trips but happily use only electric on most runs

    - Ten years / 80k miles on I see very little fall off in the range or charging time. It might drop off to nothing one day soon but seen less to nothing worth writing home about to date

Definitely thinking about the BYD Atto for our next car, they get a bit beaten up for having a limited distributor network but if you live near one that becomes a moot point. I'm not too deflected by YouTube clickbait warriors, or about the reports that Tesla Cybertrucks are being withdrawn because the accelerator is sticking on many.

Watching Life on Mars at the minute, really enjoying it. Ashes to Ashes will be next.

Last episode, even the last five minutes, are excellent. Some series completely screw up the finale and leave you feeling you've been a bit cheated, Ashes To Ashes is one that didn't.

When Mrs Wolfie had been living with me for a few months, we decided to have a couple of friends round and I did a big swiss cheese fondue. We had a lot of cheese late into the evening.

That night, I was woken at about 2am by her fully dressed and in the middle of packing her bags. She was semi-awake and convinced that she had to move out there & then. She couldn't give me any reason, just that she hed to do it. It took me about half an hour to talk her down and convince her to get back into bed.

That was 13 years ago and it remains the only time anything like this happened - and the only time we've ever had a fondue.

Try two Rohypnol in the drink next time
