If the PL don't want replays, perhaps they can agree to forfeit the right to progress in the competition if they don't win the tie. Win and you're through, lose or draw and the non-PL team progresses - if two PL teams play each other they can toss a coin for all I care.....(which is an appropriate method given that this decision has shown them to be a bunch of tossers)....

They don't want their 30 million pound players getting carved up on a ploughed field greatly increasing the chance of shock results and draws.  I'd bet my arse that the next gambit will be we don't want you too financially miss out, so we'll pay a fee and you can come directly to our crown green bowling lawn for a one of game pretty much guaranteeing a piss easy progression for a couple of rounds.

The poor lad has had a terrible injury record and I can't see any club offering a contract based on this. However, if he was able to sort out some kind of pay as you play contract, it would be a last chance saloon to prove his fitness, whether this be at Derby or elsewhere.

I'm convinced that his issues come from his stance receiving the ball against a defender.  He's like a starfish with a bad back.  The pressure on his quads and hamstrings doing that for an hour is ridiculous.  He won't have a career till he starts using his back and shoulders muscles more.  Should have been coached from him before, unless he's just not listening.

    Just watched the Ramstv pre match interview with Warne in which he said Bird, Elder and Barkhuizen have all trained this week. Not heard the local media presser yet so the following may not be wholly accurate but I believe we’ve got the following injuries still;

Joe Ward - Had knee surgery, out for the season.

Dwight Gayle - Hamstring injury, could be back before season ends.

Craig Forsyth - Calf injury, stepping up recovery and could be involved before the season ends

Ryan Nyambe - Quad injury, had surgery and out for the season

Tyreece John-Jules - Hamstring injury, announced today to be rejoining full training this week so could we see a brief cameo in the final game?

Jake Rooney - Knee injury, ACL so thought his season was over but is in light training so could play a part before the season ends

We did get the injuries Alf , but we were patched up ( injected up in the Pros case ) and sent out to play as long as we could hobble. Hence why many of us limp rather than walk or like Roy Mac have raging arthritis . Some injuries now are different due to players being highly trained and bodies over loaded.

About 25 years ago I asked John O' Hare if he'd turn out for my 5 a side team.  No chance, he was riddled with arthritis from the old jabs.

Would love for him to get a 5min cameo against Carlisle. Such a shame to see a good talent hampered by injuries.

4mins 35sec. Close enough. I do worry it might cause a dressing room distraction though.

Next season there will be no replays in the FA Cup from the First round onwards. Potentially financially devastating for non- league and poorly supported league clubs not being able to earn that money earning replay at a large club that could potentially keep it alive or bankroll it for a couple of seasons.
Very poor from the FA in my opinion .

But we have too deal with the massive fixture backlog for all those teams in Europe playing home and away against some team who won the Cypriot cup, or 20 games to win the Champions league they qualified for by finishing 4th.  Don't forget the 4 preseason games going to Saudi to play against Al Hilal and some other randoms as well.  Rochdale can feck right off with their 200k extra gate money.

I don't watch a huge number of TV ads - normally record stuff and then fast-forward through the ads...

Radio ads however are a whole level of annoyance higher:

"Do you have more than £8000 in unsecured debts? get an IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement) with us - warning this MAY affect your credit rating" - no, it'll screw your credit rating forever....

"Sell your unwanted Gold, Silver, platinum & palladium - post it to us and we'll pay you next day" - I'm sure you will, but the chances of getting a fair price are pretty damn remote....and how many folk will ask them to return their items?

"If you've been the victim of a scammer, the system has failed you" - no it hasn't, you've been a knobby and sent money to someone dodgy despite the system warning you to check if they're kosher.....

"If you owned a diesel car between...." - ARGHHHHHHHHHHH

This is basically every American advert, bar those offering medication for situations related to gross obesity followed by an ad offering you free cookie dough for life if you sign up for a year of pizza delivery.  They also seem to a generator fascination.

  8. Seems we may have gone from tickling Marianakis love spuds and the sheep don't know what they're talking about,  to possible protests to get him out and much hand wringing that they've blown more in 2 years than a medium sized countries annual GDP.

Lets hope they do and he has one of his tantrums, takes anyone decent to Greece and tells them to feck off with a wage bill of 170 million a year as a gift.

Just wondering what our approach will be. Go for the win or make sure we don’t lose. Interesting……very interesting 😊

Need to go to win to avoid the shitfest of GD coming into play next week, especially as Peterborough are the team that love to win by 4 or lose by 5

I do think there is a bit of an attitude and entitlement with some Bolton fans though. A lot of them seem to think they're the best side in the division, based purely on the attractive brand of football they play.

Even on here, we had that one Wanderlust bloke, who was extremely salty during/after the match.

From the Cambridge forum.  Enough said.

Bolton have had 1 poor result, wouldn't even class their form as a wobble.

Yes, but their fans, certainly the online ones, are second only to Port Vale in the lunatic stakes.

Only while Sheffield Wednesday remain absent.

I think there’s a danger of extrapolating the views of a few fans as a representation of a more general sentiment.

After all, there are a few on here we wouldn’t want to be our emissaries.

I think we have heard from fans of both Portsmouth and Bolton that their team has been inconsistent and often underwhelming.

The league has been decided by the team that survived its blip the best.

Portsmouth also did good business in the window.

Bolton have been hit with injuries like us and have been struggling towards the finish line.

I hope that if we do get second place, Bolton are the team that makes it up from the playoffs.

Fighting the Spanish Armada with water pistols, or 4 fit strikers, one who recently cost best part of a million quid as it's known elsewhere.

  12. Sounds like Evatts thrown in the towel.  He has played here before hasn't he.

“Frustration is fine and natural tonight but we have to park that and get ready to win five football matches. I appreciate that there's going to be disappointment and frustration. There’ll be nobody more disappointed and frustrated than me.

“We have to re-group right now and get ready for five big games and carry momentum through, get this place rocking on Saturday and make sure we do the business.”

Congratulations to Portsmouth who are promoted as Champions after tonight's results, which were:

    • Portsmouth 3 Barnsley 2
    • Bolton 2 Shrewsbury 2
    • Peterborough 4 Fleetwood 1

A fabulous draw by Shrewsbury means we only need 4 points from the final 2 games to guarantee promotion. Goal difference not quite enough to rely on just the 3 points. But if both Bolton and Peterborough drop points on Saturday, victory at Cambridge would see us up.

    image.thumb.png.7e4fb7f0017d8d3b9ac5bedfed2babbf.png

    The other Saturday fixtures are:

    • Bolton vs Port Vale
    • Bristol Rovers vs Peterborough

You do realise we'll be going into the last game in 2nd by 2 goals and s******* our pants that either Bolton or Peterborough will beat one 3-0 either way as we grimly hang on to a 1-0.  It's the Derby way.

Bolton play Port Vale this Saturday. Its a must win for Vale or they're down. Hopefully the biggest club in Staffordshire will get the result they need to stay up. The chance of playing their noisy neighbours from across the dystopian wasteland next season will motivate them even more to stay up!

It would be rather nice to wave to the Stokies as we pass them coming down from an Utcheter perspective as well.

Bloody hell, could the stars align that much to see the gumps down, Leicester fck up and Derby slip effortlessly into the Championship?

    Bolton at home again.

This one on their forum will probably be us on Saturday.  What we have every game.

feck me I hate league one
An hour of this lot rolling about now. football is dogshit.
