I’ve said time and time again I go into every match full of optimism and with a fresh slate. I never go into a game criticising the team and Warne before a ball is kicked.

I think the frustrations for many boil down to it taking us until basically October to try and dominate and control a match?

If this was the plan v Wigan in that first match just think how much further along we’d be by now?

That’s where I’m still a bit frustrated. It feels like ‘early signs are positive’ shouldn’t be said as we approach October?

Anyway if we play like that in every game we’ll win most of our matches when the quality in the final third shows and we’ll draw/lose some where our quality is missing. Either way it’s easier not to concede when we have complete control of the game which was a positive.

That's where it all falls down,we have no quality in the final third.the defence is solid, midfield ok,but the best defence in the world is not going to win you games if we can't score.we create very little so you can't afford for waghorn and collins to waste what few chances they have,we need better and should have invested in better

I'm usually one of the first loaded with missiles at the manager however we was much better today. Kept the ball so much better and I saw more potential than any other performance at home this season.

We was two header sitters away from the 3 points. If we're gonna point fingers, look at our forwards who were completely off it today.

Who thought the strikers were good enough to see us through and failed to invest in a decent one

I really don't get this wrist slashing. Yes it was a dour affair and atm we look like a mid table outfit. But hasn't 17 managers since 2007 shown you anything. Hire and fire doesn't work does it. We are still shopping in Poundland for players and that's where we're at. Sacking the current management team won't name the slightest bit of difference....

Keeping poor management for the sake of stability is ludicrous, any manager with half a brain would get more out of this squad than the current regime. Giving Warne more time is just regressing the club into a state where it will take years to recover from

We have 4 strikers that most league 1 clubs would take, I'm happy with our business. Keeping Bird Sibley Cash could prove to be massive as the season goes on too.

Can't remember clubs fighting for waghorn or Collins,if they are that good surely they would have had some sort of interest from elsewhere

  5. Absolutely delighted we now have a bit of pace up front, hopefully he can stay fit and provide the goals we badly need, but if as his record suggests he does suffer with injuries, it still leaves us short up top.i still think another striker is needed and bail out Collins if we can

  6. I think after listening to his recent comments,he's realised he's dropped a bolac, and he doesn't look to have an answer, the injuries have magnified the problem.if we don't get a pacey striker he should go and let someone else try to sort out the mess,or we are going nowhere this season, and the crowds will dwindle,as will the finances and we will be stuck in this God awful league  for the foreseeable future.so my vote is option 2

I'm not taking a clean slate approach at all. Last season told us plenty about Warne at Derby County. But I am very much hoping our latest injuries force him into playing a system more suited to our squad and therefore with more chance of winning.

Spot on,let's hope he stumbles onto something that works

  8. If Warne is allowed to persist in playing 3 at the back and eventually the players click, and it starts working,it might be too late to turn the season round,we start all over again in league 1 next season with a mainly new squad of players doing exactly the same again.for me clowes needs to sit Warne down for a lengthy chat to persuade him to change before it's too late.clowes must be seeing the same as the rest of us,and must give him a warning, change or walk

That’s fair enough. I’m not disagreeing with you as such - it’s genuinely a point of interest. I think among our fanbase we have a sense of something which could be entitlement, possibly a legacy of winning titles, time spent in the premier league and the fact that we have a big fanbase and the club is so important to the city. But it could also be a sense of natural justice - almost the feeling that we’ve been hard done by (as supporters) for so long that we must surely deserve better than what we’ve been getting!

It's about wanting dcfc to be the best it can be,and being disappointed when dcfc is far from being the best it can be.some of us are old enough to have seen us at the very best, and it hurts while we are so far from where we have been

  10. The fact that the captain ,who has a 2nd job with villa, was removed in both games, makes me think that he was possibly one of the players Warne was referring to. As someone said earlier, Knight could also be in the ears of others.warne has studied  the two games and hopefully is changing his planned transfer strategy, the next two through the door are vital to his and our success, another ageing has been striker and we are in a serious mess

  11. Waghorns heart obviously isn't in this,so not going to be fully committed. A waste of a wage in my opinion we already have one slow useless striker, why waste what limited resources we have on another.warne is going totally against what he said,he said we needed ,he said we needed a younger pacey goal scorer and we get another ageing slug, rapidly getting tired of listening to Warnes waffle

Did people think we were playing bad at 0-0 or at 1-1? I certainly didn’t.

At 0-0 we were loose and they had a couple of decent chances but so did we. We’ve been punished for them scoring their one chance at 1-1 and then for our lack of squad depth as we had nobody to bring on to save the day.

At 0-0 we had chances to put the game to bed,but our lack of quality up front as usual failed to make them count.defences are always going to make mistakes, they become a problem when you can't make the most of your own chances.its not just the first game of the season,it's gone on for multiple seasons,it's one of the reasons we are where we are

Ah yes that good old ‘hope’ I hope I win the lottery.

The same hope as hoping ageing has beens are the answer, only that hope costs money we can't afford to waste

As in 21/22 when we were only allowed to offer wages which weren't even half of what we can offer now, only 1 yesr deals, and could only sign 1 forward due to squad size restrictions. Marriott's extension for the 21/22 season was also revoked by the EFL.

Or 22/23, when we still had restrictions which limited to offering a maximum of approximately £10k per week and 2 year deals?(&9

Damage was done way before then
