They absolutely do need looking at, because when you consider the knock-on affect this is going to have on youth development and player welfare in this country, it has the potential to be a massively destructive force.
Premier League clubs will start hoovering up more talent and hold bigger academy squads, because they will be able to use these as financial pawns later down the line because of the 'loophole' so even for players who probably aren't going to make it at the top level, i.e. Dobbin, then you can still move them on for big money because of an accounting policy. Kellyman was showing a lot of potential so that makes sense, but he joins a Chelsea squad that's deeper in young talent that any other club in the entire world.
The Premier League really need to consider the ramifications of their FFP model because this really is a toxic and clubs using young players as pawns for accounting reasons, self-imposed accounting reasons, isn't doing anything. The only way you can stop the ludicrous politics in football is bring in a hard-cap, otherwise you have all different teams working to all different parameters, pushing to compete and using any workaround they can find - to what end?

No it doesn't. It highlights the creative measures teams are going to in order to comply with the PSR in the Premier League.

It's playing the system to get round ffp or whatever it is in the prem and its being done openly and in plain sight.
Academy prospects being used as pawns as ownership groups play chess to avoid sanctions and ao that can sign more big money internationals.
Imagine some of these young lads will then be loaned out, again making the club money for their balance sheets.
Football is not the game it was. Sad.

To be fair, when Collins was injured, they were saying it would be touch and go if he would be back before the end of the season.  And they were surprised he came back as quick as he did.  And in January, it’s well known that on deadline we’d agreed a loan but the loaning club cancelled the deal at the last minute as their signing fell through.

    Massive Leeds, the facts.
In the nine seasons they were in the championship, before Covid.
    Average attendance 26,277.
    Three seasons in League One.
    Average attendance 25,001.
Roughly 10,000 empty seats every week.
Derby nine seasons in the championship roughly the same period.
    Average attendance 27,268.
    Two seasons in League one.
    Average attendance 27,349.
    Derby consistently massive.

Technocrats are ruling football, The female analyst said IFAB the international referees association agreed with the "new rules" after the Newcastle EU game🤷‍♂️
I've played the game...armature, The handball...imo had no effect in the build up, The snickometer says "yes" but the ball was moving forward anyway.
VAR is making football for me less and less attractive to watch 👎

Always love seeing ex academy players carve out careers for themselves. Usually happy if it’s in the lower leagues, but to see Elsnik playing on the biggest stages is great.

I think the comparison of Lance Armstrong to Man City is a lot closer than just 'they doped, cheated and won for years'.
City are currently in the 'zip it' era when he chased after Simeoni who testified against Ferrari (who was the physician who doped all he cyclists). They can threaten anybody else by suing the Premier League and be in total denial but they know the house of cards is falling down.
The question is can football can clean itself from financial doping in the same way that cycling cleaned itself from physical doping? I think unless you change the ownership model to a 50+1 version like in Germany where fans have more of say and had a more even split of TV money the current structure of English football will continue in the ugly fashion it is now.

Just had a read of this it's basically spicing up a passing comment from the probable culture secretary but if they are looking at the 10% levy on Prem deals that will be interesting as that could raise some good capital for the ourselves and fellow Football League clubs. First thoughts are as most transfer deals are paid in instalments would it be stringent enough to be 10% of the entire fee because I see a clear loophole that Prem teams could exploit.
