DCFC Kicks reacted to MuespachRam in What would McClaren do with this team?
Billy would have had us cemented in the play offs by now, no doubt.

A rescue job with half the games left wouldn't be Mac's thing, we'd probably be slightly better off than now, but only just.
Billy on the other hand, would have had us pushing hard for the play offs.

More likely....
Everyone would be up in arms on here because he had not come out and been around to everyones house and told each and every fan in person that he was not interested in the Newcastle job if Bruce is sacked.

His experience over Rooney was needed.

Change the question to "What would have McClaren done with this team?"
Does anyone actually think we'd be worse off if we had just hired Mac as manager instead of Rooney? I don't.
He probably would have been cheaper and only signed until the end of season unlike Wayne's 2 year deal, we had an instant boost the last 2 times he first joined which I think would have been enough to avoid relegation.
The only reason we probably went for Rooney was either because Mel didn't want to pay Rooney's playing contract any longer, or Mel had too much pride to hire Mac for a third time.
What is Mac even doing at the moment? The current terrible playing style suggests he's having little involvement with tactics.

McClaren had his time....twice over, its time to move on.
Wazza is the manager, he is the best man for the job and he is doing and will continue to do great.

We'd be on the same points but have been a lot more enthusiastic at the start and around the same amount of dejected now.

DoF responsible for transfers but not tactics: Clough Jr. or Cocu
First Team coach responsible for selection and tactics: McClaren

He'd of got us scoring, that I honestly believe.
We'd be winning but the scorelines would be back to crickets figures with this team, both scoring and conceding.
I'd take that in a heartbeat tho.
Sibbers would be in double figures by now!!

I think he'd have got more out of Bird, Sibley, Knight, Roberts & Jozwiak but I suppose the next question would be at what cost?

As a general rule, you should be wary of anybody who actively wants to own a football club as they are money sinks and make precisely nobody any money. Anyone who actively wants to be in that business has a screw loose.

Teams like Norwich and Watford are lucky they've been able to hold onto players like Buendia, Cantwell and Sarr. Any other season prem clubs would have bought them.

DCFC Kicks got a reaction from Jourdan in James Collins (the Luton Town striker)
He has a decent goal scoring record, if he want's to completely ruin that then here's the place for him.
He also has a previous arrest for being involved in a car crash, and was fined for urinating into a beer glass at the Cheltenham festival. So he'd fit in nicely.

Let’s face it with a midfield of shinnie and knight and bird we are never going to be top 6 let alone too 10. None are good enough with the ball but good enough without the ball. That’s the difference and jozwiak in Derby’s team never has options further forward no one runs from midfield. So when he has the ball all he has to aim for is ckr or he has to go back. Look back at games where he has the ball he either has to take 3 guys on or pass backwards
