Boro would never have beaten Leeds or Villa, even if they had finished ahead of us. We lost to QPR in a one off match, with very fine margins. Plus QPR 's act was deliberate flouting the rules.  As far as we knew we were within the rules. In fact, I still think we were.

Okay thanks for the reply, I’m not here to be confrontational, been reading this site for a fair few years (along with most championship sites ) and quite recently have seen QPR mentioned a few times. Not that it helps any I don’t think any team should be suing another.
I still have nightmares about QPR’s administration and relegation to the third tier in 2001, we had 5 registered players at the start of the following season, had a total rebuild and after 3 seasons got back into the championship.
I can still remember our “rich owners” stitching Derby up with exorbitant ticket prices as you’d just been relegated and deemed to be a category A game.
many of us weren’t happy when Tony Fernandes started buying players we couldn’t afford as if they were panini stickers and I think the other clubs are right to be ducked off with the way our club went.
it’s taken a few years but we are now doing things correctly and are just starting to reap the rewards. However I expect if we don’t go up this year then our young starts will be sold and we’ll have to start the cycle again.
Hope you get a new owner (pay HMRC off) and become competitive again.
    merry Christmas to you all.

Weasel words? - good grief, I was trying not to be confrontational - though I appreciate that's not in your nature....
Whatever words I used, you're still not entitled to an update......

After decades of having a rammed houseful every Boxing Day, for cold turkey, Hams, pickles, and real chips (the only time the chip pan comes out!), and lots of drink, games and laughter, I am now getting the horrible feeling that Christmas tradition in our house is rapidly becoming one of misery!
Boxing Day 2019 cancelled due to my sister dying suddenly and unexpectedly 12 days prior, so we were all feeling sorry for ourselves.
    Last year cancelled for Covid.
This year... 90 year old father in law was taken into hospital last Thursday evening, with low readings all round, and feeling "a bit under the weather"... all unexpected and out of the blue (despite his age and a triple heart by-pass 10 years ago!).
Subsequently, there's been a lot of guesswork and head scratching going on, and lots of calls to various experts from various fields spread around the country.  The upshot being they are working towards it being Myasthenia Gravis*, but "with something else going on that we're still baffled about"!  ...And now there's talk of Sepsis too!
He's literally become a gibbering wreck in little more than 48hrs, with inconclusive MRI's, feeding tubes, drips everywhere, and bleepers going off from all directions... and a face that makes him look like he's done 25 rounds with whoever is the current heavyweight boxing champeen of the world!
The experts really aren't giving us much hope to cling to!
Muckerette was really struggling to cope, being the only allowed visitor, so much so, she wasn't strong enough to go and see him on Sunday.  But the wonderful caring folk at Derby Royal were generous enough to allow her "a carer" yesterday... Me!
Hopefully, it'll be the same again later today, so at least she doesn't have to suffer alone.

It's beginning to look a lot like... another utterly miserable Christmas, and a third consecutive cancelled Boxing Day! ?
    Season of Joy?  Utter baalocks!

I deliberately didn't use the phrase 'entitled' because I knew it would cause people to get emotive - but the reason we don't have a right to know anything is that the vast majority don't have any (to coin a phrase) skin in the game. At the end of the day we're just customers of the club - however deeply we care (and however much we want to know what's going on), we're not on the list of creditors so don't have a right to know anything.....

For once I’m a little ITK about this one! Typical that’s it’s this and not exciting football news!
As it stands, the govt is planning on 2 week circuit breaker lockdown from 28th Dec.

They are coming under pressure to bring this date forward and any significant leap in the data will alter it being the 28th.
But as of this weekend, and confirmed yesterday, the govt is planning based on 28th.

God, I hope so. My brother and I are planning to take his lad to his first Derby game against W Brom. They aren’t local so I really do hope he can have his Black and White Army experience this time and they’re able to come up. UTR.

    Sigh.
With a sense of tedious crushing inevitability the Corona continues to be a total pain in the arse.
Please get vaccinated and boosted, wear a mask and wash your hands. The quicker we get it under control again the quicker we come out of restrictions.
It does seem that Omicron is super infectious, even if they are not sure yet if it's milder than delta or not.

    So many inaccuracies in this post its difficult to know where to start but the main points are;
    a) you continue not to understand the difference between civil law & agenda driven EFL dieciplinary processes. You can not extrapolate the EFL retrospectively charging us with P&S breaches under pressure from other clubs into what would happen in a civil law court.
    b) massive assumption that no-one would buy a club or indeed business with threatened legal action. An assessment would be made on the strength of the respective claims first
    c) the notion our conduct has been so much more egregious than other clubs who have broken FFP is exactly the kind of drivel we've had to listen to from rival fans for the past year. If the EFL wanted explicit treatment of amortisation, they should have stated so. If there isnt explicit wording, clubs will find interpretations. Our accounts were publicly available & signed off by independent auditors...not deliberately hidden.

Getting on the speculation here, ex manager involved could be McClaren - clearly indicated he wants to be in the football business side of things. Cocu was also reportedly part of an investment group with a load of ex-Dutch players including Bergkamp to buy a club.
As for ex-Derby players who have made decent money outside the game, only one I can think of is Ashley Ward, him and his missus are worth about £40m from their Interior Design and Property business. Think it’s them that have built Rooney’s £20m mansion.

Nothing like a bit of wild speculation ?

GB SPORTS reacted to SSD in The coronabrexit thread. I mean, coronavirus thread
My Christmas plans have gone down the pan as half of my family have COVID. Seems like the ones who didn't have it last winter have caught this time around.
I'm struggling to understand the reasoning behind potential lockdowns this time around. I completely understood last winter because we had no protection of this virus, the death toll was horrible and the hospitals were a mess. It was the right thing to do, as difficult as it was for my family and friends.
My reasons for having the vaccine weren't really for my own benefit but to protect the others around me who don't have the immune system to fight something like this. And now inevitably the unvaccinated are causing the problems, surprise surprise. Call me harsh, I have zero sympathy for these people who are in the hospital and haven't had a vaccine. They are the primary reason why we might have to go backwards towards not mixing households again. Take some responsibility for yourselves. This isn't some crazy conspiracy.
I feel like I've made sacrifices to give the scientists / government time to get this pandemic under control. Too many people are reading utter rubbish on the internet in their spare time and it's flooded their minds to make rash and irresponsible decisions. This was going to happen at some point and for the majority of people who've taken a vaccine, even if there weren't 100% behind it, they now have to suffer the consequences.

Why invite a select few people to come and ask questions... and then spend days checking the answers are what you want to put out there. Why not just dispense with the theatrics and put out a statement yourself in the first place?
