This statement says it all. We are so lucky to have David Clowes as a supporter of his club. He may have done it reluctantly but he’s saved us. He may not stay around long but he will do the right thing by us, stablise us and if he cannot take us forward he will sell to someone who can. But that’s tomorrow.
We are forever indebted to him. This guy needs to be given freedom of the city, Pride Park stadium also needs to be named after him, he also deserves a statue. David Clowes will go down as one of the most important people in this clubs history.

You’re spot on. The EFL can’t be forgiven for their role in this. I agree with other posters, without the pressure from our fans on local MPs and the government the EFL could’ve created another bury. It’s not the EFL hierarchy per se, it’s the fact it’s the clubs regulating themselves. Descends into mob rule protecting self interest so it becomes about making sure a club stepping out of line doesn’t get an advantage and ensuring it’s penalised and not about helping a club in difficulty survive. We have been more than punished and the EFL business plan will continue that punishment.
That being said, I think the business plan would hurt us more in the Championship. I think in league one we will have enough headroom to build a competitive side.

Massive thank you from me to all of you lot on this forum. This club has impacted my mood, it's given me highs and lows over the last 18 months but you lot have always cheered me up.
I've thought about binning this forum off, I've thought about binning football off entirely.
Two things changed my mind, taking my three year old daughter to a couple of games last season (she loved it and the thought of not being able to do that again was a killer), and this forum.
Perversely, it's all sparked the love of it all in me again and I cant wait to see where we go from here.
Thanks everyone. Me and my little one look forwards to attending games for years to come.
