Very grumpy angry and frustrated today. From the first minute we were second best today, 2-0 up due to individual brilliance and being clinical. Anyone blaming Rosenior saying this was a result of how he managed the game I’m sorry, you’re talking complete and utter nonsense. The subs did not change the game it followed the same pattern. We were second best in the first half, and at the start of the second, he brought Didzy off because he’s not ready for the full 90 and he brought Thompson on as an additional midfielder to try and gain control of the game. If Thompson played how he can and how he has in the league cup and in the Papa John’s, it could’ve worked. It didn’t work because he was equally off it, as was Sibley.

We needed to hang on for longer but they got a bit of luck for the Whittaker goal, squirmed under Cashin and sat perfectly for him. It gave them the hope to further push on, then they had more luck with their equaliser which looked miles offside, before a Cashin error gives them the winner. No management to blame during the game (you can always look at the set up and build up to the game) players not at it and further hindered by poor officiating. Plymouth deserved all their luck though as they were excellent, a good well drilled side with a clear identity and evidence of being together for a while. They will be in and around it this season.

Regarding Rosenior, he didn’t have the defensive options to change midfield today, Smith would’ve made a big difference. He went for Thompson, the only criticism is maybe he should’ve gone for Rooney. Thompson has done ok in the games he’s played this season and he’s been with us since last season, Rooney has been with us 5 mins, what message does that send to Thompson if he brings Rooney on instead? Right call but Thompson didn’t play well when he came on, which means next time we’re in this situation and there isn’t a senior option available then Rooney needs to be the go to ahead of Thompson.
We need to remember this team has been pulled together in about 6 weeks, had less preseason than everyone else and we’re coming up against competitive sides who have been together much longer. I wasn’t expecting us to be playing teams off the park every game at this point. In all the other games I’ve seen I’ve seen potential of what we’re capable of.
Today we were just bad and we move on still in and around the top 6 which is decent considering where we were just 6-7 weeks ago.

I'm actually happy the club has dealt with this managerial appointment in the right manner for once.
Give Rosenoir until early 2023 to gauge how he's doing. If he's bombing then can get the feelers out for a more experience permanent manager and thank him for his efforts and drop back down to assistant.
If he's tearing up the league then give him a full time contract but not on a 4 year stint like Cocu. Win win.

End of they day, you don’t spend £150m to finish 17th no matter how many times their fans try to tell people they needed to sign two new 11’s. He’ll be getting twitchy already.
I read an Athletic article that said Marinakis was aiming for top 6 but his expectations had to be tempered by others at the club. Wouldn’t recommend reading it though, it was a Daniel Taylor article so took me forever to wade past the misty eyed b******* about history and about how Jesse Lingard is ‘only’ on £110k a week plus bonuses and how great it is that Marinakis is letting his son (who has never worked in football before) deal with transfers.

I’ve seen him play much better, think he can do more going forward, passed backwards a lot, could do better with some of his crosses. Just thought it was a frustrating inconsistent performance him which is going to happen. I like him, think he’s got loads of potential, would be great when we’re out of the business plan scenario if we could get him permanently.

As a comparison I thought Oduroh was better than him tonight which I never would’ve thought possible a few weeks back, says more about the rate of Oduroh progression than Roberts who IMO had a bit of an off night by his standards.

BramcoteRam84 got a reaction from SKRam in Who s enjoying league 1?
I hate League one. Horrendous officiating, no goal line technology, salty small clubs, and I can’t lie as much as I deny it it makes it a damn sight worse with the scum in the premier league spending £150m+, unless Maranakis’ impulsiveness and impatience leads to a spectacular implosion and destruction it will be years until we’re at their level.

However, the only positive is that where Leicester have long reached (surpassed) their ceiling and are now on the slide, Notts Forest are close to their ceiling and don’t have much to be excited about once they get past the euphoria of this season and possibly next they’ll be on the slide again, Derby are on the floor which means we have an incredible journey like those witnessed in the 80s to get back to our ceiling which is mid-table premier league (same as Forest’s), if we can get autos and the pizza trophy in the next couple of years  it will give me amazing memories and maybe even followed by a championship playoff final win in a few seasons which would be incredible. With some of the players we have, while it’s tough with the business plan restrictions we could build some momentum which means should we get up this season we could well be competitive in the championship. We have at least two players who would walk into top 6 championship teams (Bird and Knight)   with two others very capable of joining them (Cashin and Sibley)
Being on the floor means there’s only one way to go and that’s up so I’m going to enjoy the ride.

Don’t believe for one second there has been lots of planning behind all these signings. I doubt Cooper wanted half of these players, if he can make it work and they’re competitive this season then he really is a genius.
I look at the other clubs they’re battling with, they are all strengthening in a structured planned way. I’m seeing signings Forest could and should’ve made for half the cost. Southampton have had a good window, Everton have had a great window getting Gueye back and Garner (why didn’t Forest get it done). Fulham look stronger this time and have had a good window, Leeds look strong.

This could be the season a team goes down with 40 points or more!!
