It was pretty solid against a poor Burton, but I don't want to see Fozzy on the right again. Defensively did his job but so awkward receiving the ball.
One horror ball from Davies but imperious in the air. Cashin back to his best.

It is a must win game. Although we won today, I still don’t feel we are at it. Makes me nervous!
Hey O.G. don't worry. I'm from tbe future.

As I've said before, SBW is dirge-like not energising and is twee in both lyric and melody. I find it cringe inducing. As is We Are Derby, which is far too long and uses the 'urban' style of poetry delivery that has become such a cliche. We need some rituals at our church, but these are not serving us well.
Having some music before kick off does help the atmosphere, but it also inhibits it. For instance, at the shrews match, since it played right up to kick off, it drowned out the considerable noise that was being generated between the south stand and the away fans, which I'd much rather listen to.

I'm torn. On the one hand, I want independent regulation to correct the power imbalances. However, if you've ever had to deal with a governmental regulatory body, you'll know that it's a kafkaesque shitstorm of incompetence, and beaureacratic insanity.
Oh well, f*** the Efl.

Crucial appointment this, hope he continues his fine track record. Its a real sign of the new regime. Still no announcement on official site? Playing things more low key? Or likely tomorrow?
Anyhow, the rebuild continues!

1Wildsmith Alert, proactive, agile, commanding. Decent kicking. 7.5
12Smith 6.5 Reliable, hard working.
3Forsyth 7.5 Classy and solid.
6Cashin 8 Continues to amaze with his reading of the game, excellent use of the ball, header winning ability and crunching tackles. Much deserved goal was a cracker.
17Sibley 6 Poor control and defensive awareness let them in a couple of times, but decent going forward.
23White 7.5 Has that Hughes-esque habit of intercepting the ball. He got hurt after a brave challenge. Good passing kept things moving forwards.
Roberts 6 Not much time to impress. I prefer him to Sibs at left back because he's a better defender.
4Hourihane 7.5 looked determined to compete. Won (kind of) the peno, lovely cross to assist for Cashin's goal and decent defensive work too.
7Barkhuizen 6.5 Links the attacks well, some good driving forward at times.
18Dobbin 6 Provided much needed pace late on.
38Knight 7.5 Fought, ran, used the ball well. Missed a decent chance, but it was a reasonable attempt.
11Mendez-Laing 6.5 Not quite at it and tired but still caused havoc at times.
22Springett 6 The wriggler only had 15 mins, played a nice ball inside during one attack, but didn't get on the ball much.
10McGoldrick 7.5 Cool penno that chilled us out. Some lovely touches too.
9Collins 6 think I saw him kind of win a header! Was getting wrestled a lot which fuelled his grumpy demeanour.

Straightforward win. We weren't fully firing, but they didn't press, tried to play football and weren't very good. Can we play you every week?

Unfortunately for Bielik, in my eyes, he has come to define the Mel Morris era. I whole lot of promise, a huge pot of money spaffed up the wall, and a suffocating dollop of disappointment. As much as I think he has a load of talent, I'll be glad to see the back of him, so we can build a club around an entirely different, more sustainable and authentic culture.
It was a crazy signing. If spending thar amount we could have bought in several improvements. Spending so much on a single player in our circs made no sense.

"That was so cute".
Such a likeable bunch and this is a good example. If we don't go up, we will lose these 2 surely. It would only be fair to them but so sad for us.
So let's hope we go up and they drive us up the championship!

I noticed that he identified as a derby player in the interview and it seemed significant. Hope so. Didn't know his contract is up in the summer. Would be a really exciting signing. Tenacious, skillful, reasonably quick and strong with an eye for a forward pass. He's a great full back and could be a pacier option at centre back. I'd be so delighted to get him.

Anyway, good news I reckon. Didn't Lincoln run all over us earlier in the season. If Warnes happy, good enough for me.

Was this announced on official website? Is it just me or does it seem that these sorts of appts aren't being announced through the usual channels at the time?

So according to that video and his interview, he's not pacy and not about tricks and flicks, but he's 'the wriggler' using his body to squirm through the gaps.
Intriguing.
Let's hope we can get a great song out of that too.
