Bloody hell haven't listened to a Warne analysis for a number of weeks.
We didn't want the ball in the middle because they had an overload in there. Didn't want to try to put through balls to the strikers because they had 3CBs. We just needed to get into the wings more and get more crosses in more quickly.
Now getting defensive over Dom asking him why Sibley didn't come in when we needed goals and he's called him the best finisher at the club...  Well we had other unused subs. Bradley didn't come on. Vickers didn't come on
    ..
Straight back to not listening to his interviews me!

His post interview is exactly why we are so predictable. Get it wide and put crosses in was his game plan which has clearly been found out. Didn’t want bird in midfield as he didn’t want control. Deary me

Warne on the radio saying he didn't want the ball in the middle of the park because they had the overload. Says we needed it out wide as we have the two best wide players in the league.
When Bird came on and we used the midfield, we looked a different side.
And people still say it's not his fault. It's anti football. And he's happy to admit to it.

We actually look good when we keep the ball on the deck instead of hopelessly lumping it forward. More of this please.

I understand the decision to rest Bird but I don’t understand replacing him with a striker which changes our shape which was so effective midweek. If Sibley can’t get in to replace Bird in that advanced role of the midfield 3 then maybe he needs to get his agent to find him a club who will consistently play him.

The first cross that wasn't overhit to the back post has resulted in a goal and it was Barks taking the corner rather than Waggy

We need an extra body in midfield or Waghorn needs to drop 10 yards deeper when they are attacking.

    "Paul Warne's doing pretty well."
"I think his biggest critics should be thinking about taking a break for a while."

The criticism has died down for various reasons.
We are playing better football in the last 2 games, so some of people's concerns are being assuaged.
We've won 2 of the last 3, as BC says, 3 points shuts people up.
Also, many who weren't happy are tired of the kick back, especially post Carlisle when we didn't play well but won and those commenting got the result thrown at them.
From my point of view, I'd like some more control in games, but Nyambe and the return of Bird and Barks have improved matters. It wasn't personal for most critics, it was based on what we saw.
As Maynard Keynes wrote, when the facts change, I change my mind.

They are completely useless. Different club, but Chesterfield have a centre back called Jamie Grimes. He wears number 5 and as far as I'm aware has played centre back for every single club he's ever played for. Every week, without fail the BBC match report lists him as starting on the right wing.

Aye, can it not descend into the usual binary chaos tonight please?! It was a good win, hopefully those who doubt Warne saw some of their concerns addressed tonight, those who back him can feel smug without rubbing it in and everyone in between too, then we can all just enjoy a great win for the Rams 🐏

We currently rank 15th for key passes per game, 17th from open play.
17th for total shots, 22nd for shots on target, 21st for shots in open play!
Prior to yesterday, we ranked 14th for expected goals in open play (7th with set pieces - 3 expected).
Aren't the alarm bells ringing yet?

Everyone in the ground apart from Paul Warne could see we needed a threat through the middle. He did literally nothing to try and give us one.

Using your logic, you also need to include Villa's future internationals too: Abraham, Grealish and Mings.
From that squad the following have represented their country:
    England - Abraham, Grealish, Mings
    Scotland - McGinn, Hutton
    Ireland - Hourihane, Whelan, Hogan
    Wales - Taylor, Chester
    Norway - Nyland
    Iceland - Bjarnason
    Croatia - Kalinic
    Belgium - De Laet
Egypt - El Mohamady, El Ghazi
    Ghana - Adomah
    Ivory Coast - Kodja
    Congo - Bolasie
    Australia - Jedinak
From our squad only King, Ledley, Cole, Lawrence, Mount, Wilson and Keogh have so far represented their country at least 5 times.

Lampard got us to a playoff final with a team which included 3 full internationals, one of which apparently has just turned down a move to PSG another of which has just moved to Man Utd for nearly £60 million.
So absolutely yes he should be included in a list of managers whom failed to get us promoted.

You’re really including Rosenior in a list of managers who failed to win promotion? In his 10 games in charge?  Even Rooney is debatable given we were effectively coasting into admin at that point and the squad was falling apart.
Anyway, by that logic, we’ve failed to win promotion 3 times playing direct football, under Rowett, Pearson and Warne, shall we make it 4?

I don’t think arguing against possession-based football is as valid as some people think.

We should have been promoted under Lampard, and would have been if he hadn’t had his head turned by Chelsea. That was bad enough, but even worse Lampard’s drawn out leaving party such that Cocu didn’t get to meet his new players until they were part way through their pre-season tour of America, by which time the transfer window was as good as over, with no-one signed and virtually no-one available. We then had Rooney’s arrival which have us all a boost until it was clear to everyone but him and Cocu that Rooney’s legs were gone. How many points that set us back isn't clear, but then Rooney started to undermine Cocu, again at a points cost. We then had the EFL came riding into town, so post-Lampard all our managers have faced impossible difficulties. I know that Rooney would gave got us to 17th place if it wasn’t dir the points deduction, which isn’t a promotion result, but he was still suffering the fall-out of a massively weakened squad courtesy of our Frank, followed by being hamstrung by Rick Parry and his henchmen.
Do ate we demanding Rosenior-ball instead of what is being dished up at the moment? I am not so sure. Maybe even the results aren’t so much the issue. What we want to see is the team competing with our opponents instead of being outplayed fir most of every match, ie a clear plan, playing to our strengths (which we do actually have) and some tactical nous.
