He's had a terrible year by all accounts, still I expect Championship clubs to be interested next season.
Great chance to get him for the season in the third division at a much cheaper cost base - we need a big lump who can actually run - he would find his scoring boots with the chances he would get here - Stoke and Preston are not known to play any actual football
-
One goal keeper needed
two centre half’s needed
one right back needed
one left back needed
two wide players needed
two centre forwards needed
that about covers what we need - hopefully McGoldrick covers one of the centre forward spots - every other spot will be guessing but yes I would take Roberts and Dobbin again if allowed but Brighton may want to extend him for themselves or move him to the championship whilst Dobbin might be in the championship after the fire sale at a relegated Everton.
-
Still the strangest signing we have made in a longtime - extremely expensive transfer fee with associated high wages at a time following a Wembley failure when every man and his dog knew we had serious financial difficulties - it’s not that we particularly needed someone at that cost in that position - sure I could have understood spending all that money on 6 good players or a extremely good centre forward. Yet the Derby county bad luck continued with him being fairly quickly seriously injured as we exploded financially.

Oh by the way club extend jasion knight for another so if anyone want him have pay through nose for him now.
Hopefully he wants to stay and play again for us but it will be mainly the club protecting the club if things change

As well as those on his recent stag event I suspect - I believe wieman, Waghorn Johnson may well have been there?

Should have come back to play for us after the World Cup. Very disappointed he didn't. I'd have thought that would have made a big difference to our finishing position, even if we'd never have caught the top 2 considering what they ended up with. But I'd happily see him turning out next season, as we will need consistent quality to make the automatics.
I am sure it would have helped if he had returned but contracts are signed so that’s it really - still our player unless someone buys him

Always welcome back to Derby County especially when you gave everything in every circumstance
Captained the club in the right way all the time as well and I am proud that you played for my football club.

Totally deserved extension as should be the case - I look forward to his testimonial especially with who we play against and who he invites to play with him as it should be a great day ⚽️🍺⚽️

Now that the umbongo restrictions appear to have been eased, DC has options.
1. Continue with an austere approach for this season whilst building a fulsome chest (the "Katie Price" option).
2. Allow earlier access to a chest which, whilst pleasing in it's own right, is more modestly proportioned (the "Kate Middleton" option).
Katie or Kate? Let the dice roll........🤣
With my money I’d want both without the actual liability

I know, that’s what I mean. Rather than bringing in a new keeper to replace him when his loan ends, sign him on a free to be back up/compete with Wildsmith. You then have another member of the squad who has settled in already having spent the last 4/5 months here.
Relatively low risk option.
Maybe there is a case to bring through the youngster we have who’s promising

His goals were genuinely of the highest order of individual brilliance - not sure what that means for his team play or involvement or what he would be like in a side that made plenty of chances ?

Florist won't get another point.
Might be the case for leeds and Leicester 🤷♂️

Anyway this is positive news whilst I am not expecting anything major

The best thing about missing the play-offs is we have more time to focus on our squad plans for next season.
I think we could manage a few more games

We broke no actual rules - end of story - the administrators accepted a punishment of minus 9 points or we couldn’t move forward - Mel Morris gave us the extra minus 12 points for administration - the real punishment was having embargo after embargo and restrictions after restrictions while the EFL tried to worm a case against us to please outside parties which cost us a fortune in player sales or lack of player sales.

The anticipation is that he’s likely to drop a level according to Exeter fans. Surprising as he’s been very good in both games against us.
He lost his place in the side - is that due to someone being better? Or he wanted to leave?
-
With his injury record it would be a concern - my feeling was always we should target him when he was an opponent so I am not sure we should be signing him

Does anyone know what date players will be let go and other players offered new contracts?
The manager probably needs to know what budget he has to work with, who he might be able to get in and will they make us better. Also who wants to stay and who wants to move on.
I suspect a lot of conversations will start this week and carry on for a while yet

The likes of Ebewobi and Plange this season suggest that the grass is not always greener away from Derby (probably better paid)

I have no idea if the club wants to keep Davies if we could but we probably should try especially as Stearman is effectively finished and Chester is simply never available and given a decent run of games is very dependable
