The Ben White transfer saga is amusing me. The sheer arrogance and entitlement of Leeds fans is being laid bare. "How dare a tinpot club like Brighton even dream of keeping a player they own once the mighty Leeds have declared their intent to buy?" "The player is desperate to play for Leeds!" Get a clue you utterly brain dead imbeciles. The player is desperate to make poo loads of money, just like any other footballer. Whether he does that by playing for Leeds, Brighton, or using one to leverage a greatly improved contract from the other is of no concern to him.
Brighton are being absolutely correct with this if they don’t need to money - why make Leeds any better? When they are now in the zone with Brighton regarding relegation

Brentford were fairly poor but at least they get the chance to beat the red dogs in the play offs
-
Sad for whoever is on bored

They were very good, great stat that villa have paid more in six months of transfers than Brentford have in their entire history!

Slightly Derby related but can people believe the price of what we would call disappointing loans are going for this season i.e. Carrol £4.5 million Livermore £10 million even ibe for £15 million in August

Don't know where I'd post this but Wolves have asked for Weimann on loan, clubs talking
Smart by wolves, having a look before they properly commit. It will be interesting

Villa in for Guediora for 3m - would be perfect for us especially at that price, would prefer him over both Lansbury and Hourihane
The financial craziest scenario of this is that both Lansbury and hourihane are both out of contract in the summer with big fees being mentioned to sign them now, not so long ago our best midfielder/forward kris commons was struggling to attract £300,000

I actually think there is a dirth of talent out there currently for championship clubs so stupid money is going to be flying around.

If I could have my way, our realistic transfers, come the end of the window, would look something like this:
Sam Byram- West Ham (loan w/ view to permanent)
Ben Chillwell- Leicester (loan)
Henri Lansbury- Forest
Bakary Sako- Crystal Palace
Chris Martin- returning homeGood shout all that lot,

Byram would be a quality signing and would show real intent.
True

Byram would be a good signing but it looks as if we are in for the player from Hearts with Grant going to Stoke for a similar fee..
The lad from hearts looks like he took a bad knee injury yesterday and he scored again!

You got a source ? Or is just your personal suggestion ?
No sauce but don't be surprised
5 hours ago, KBB said:I would be very surprised is he brings Ashley Young on loan in Jan as
1. He must be on close to £70k + a week
2. He would probably have at least 5 prem clubs in for him if he was made available on loan
3. He would probably see himself as too big a player to drop to the championship
He needs to be playing and Man U would want him doing that and what we would pay is only what we would agree

Shackell still has a part to play - keeping Alex Pearce on his toes.
He's also the only other left sided CB - Rawson is a right side, and while it doesn't stop him playing alongside Keogh, its better to have a right/left pairing.
And if we are really struggling with injuries shackell used to play left back and Keogh could step in at right back but only if we are really struggling- good experienced options
-
We could just play through with what we have as January usually disrupts us no end
-
Well we are unlikely to be able to get Martin back from Fulham so if we need a centre forward who can compete, control a football, pass a football and score goals and probably even captain the side and there appears to be a chap who appears unwanted in Manchester who you never know might fancy a great challenge on loan in January- it would be nice if we were asking Wayne Rooney if he fancied it and Man U let him.
-
We need to be very careful with any January recruitment, we are unlikely to get rid of the more useless ones so maybe it is time to actually promote the youngsters and see if any of them can actually do it.
lowe looks better than Ollson so far, elsnick looks capable of contributing but is there a forward who changes everything? Let's just try.

It still sticks with me - at Wembley qpr go down to 10 men we did not put bamford on which we should have immediately - I believe we win the game 1-0 2-0 3-0 - I thought that was crazy not doing that
when we signed Ince bent lingard yes we improved our options yes we started scoring more I think but we were totally overrun because they did zero covering. if Russell and ward had played we would have had that work rate with enough goals.
